Went in to Sierra tile today, at the recommendation of my contractor, and I feel like I got old-fashioned excellent, courteous service. George helped me with getting samples of my choices and making a recommendation for an additional sample to try out. His recommendation was right on point and showed that he listened and actually heard what I told him that I wanted. I was going to go somewhere else to buy the basics but there's no way now. Went back to Sierra - I really do like the selection - they have lots of mexican tile in stock at good prices. . But I stopped going because they weren't wearing masks. When I returned recently, I noticed that they had a door open for ventilation, and that was awesome. Also the employees seem to be wearing masks now, though one guy had it down below his nose.. Hey- guess what if you breathe out your nose it still spreads virus, and AZ is the worst in the nation right now. Let me be clear, they have a lovely tile selection. However, the staff rarely have their masks on until you check out and they allow guests not to wear them. The staff usually also have their noses uncovered even at the register. They do not socially distance as well. There are NO signs asking people to wear masks because they clearly don't care. So yes, I left after a customer not only would not socially distance but also was not wearing a mask. Highly recommended you shop elsewhere. Our businesses should be keeping our community safe. It has a very comfortable customer room that is furnished with tables and chairs that are surrounded by boxes and boxes of beautiful Mexican tiles. You can relax and pull out all the tiles you want to compose your masterpiece. The staff checks with you periodically to see if you need any assistance or ideas. We did and he came up with a beautiful design that required the tiles to be cut. Not a problem. The folks at Sierra Tile are really wonderful! The other day I went in to find a replacement for a few tiles that are 40 years old. The person who helped me knew off the top of his head the maker and years of the tile. While they couldn't replace those exact, odd-shaped tiles because they're no longer made, he found a very similar tile and then cut it and gave me the four perfectly-resized pieces I needed--for free. This great customer service goes above and beyond my expectations, and is on top of the already amazing selection of tiles they offer. I know the other reviews are positive, but our experience was less than stellar. We stopped by based on the good reviews to look at and get some information re tiles for our living room. The salesman who spoke to us was somewhat abrupt, told us the style of tile we were looking for is "out of fashion" and basically pointed to the large displays of tile and left us on our own. No suggestions, no ideas, no indication he was interested in our business. He gave us the name of several installers-one of whom never bothered to call back and the other told us we will get an estimate in a few days-that was over a week ago. We have since visited another company- purchased tile and look forward to its installation next month. No company is perfect im sure but this experience was certainly "meh". read more

Everyone there is helpful and they all have useful and creative ideas. The best part about Sierra Tile is that they DO NOT work on commission. You can ask anyone anything and no one gets their nose bent out of shape. If you go in on Saturday and talk with one sales person, then come back on Tuesday to place an order, it doesn't matter that the person you spoke with on Saturday isn't working on Tuesday. Sierra Tile does not specifically have people to help with decorating, but I flagged down one the workers, Rich, to find out if they offer that. He said they don't specifically have anyone who does that, but then he spent over an hour with us to help us with the design. Not only did he have excellent ideas for us, but he also cut some tiles in order to help us to see what the design might look like. After waiting nearly three weeks fo a small special order from another local tile store -only to have the product arrive significantly different from the sample- I turned to Sierra Tile on the recommendation of my plumber. My order was very small but necessary to complete my project. The special order had to be shipped from CA to AZ.
