I absolutely love this place for all the odds and ends! We bought a fantastic area rug and are headed back tomorrow for a new toilet.

Our first time out here with the construction, and street rennovations, it is on the opposite side of the freeway, and roads closed around it, was sort of tricky to find it but we did, we are doing some things to the home and with the price of materials whether it be wood, bath, outdoor, etc. this place is much much better, it was actuallty a good experience and the staff are friendly and helpful, and it was Affordable depending on what you get. I loved it. They have out doors and indoors also. Some of the stuff well, you get to pick thru or ask for help, some is brand new and other gently used pieces, others are used. It is LIKE PICK A PART, but Gently used and New a little of BOTH. Next time and will definitely be back for sure! 1 out of 10, I give it a 8 out of 10! So until next time, Stay Shopping! read more

To the many that might consider this business be aware, this is NOT your Big Box store! Therefore, come with your visit knowing that this place is ALL EXTERIOR, sun and rain worn, period. This place shouldn't be expected to come with perfection, anywhere! It is a USED items 'store' per se. With that in mind, some items have reasonably decent prices (you have to look!) and many others are a bit on the top end which dissatisfies many. Take it for what it's worth... I found all employees polite and assistful. I didn't try bargaining but I suppose it's worth a try. Items are somewhat unorganized but if you ask someone, they'll guide you to a specific area if they've got it. Not a bad place by no means, but prices could be a tad better IMO. I enjoyed my visit, and now know the majority of their stock. It's worth a visit just so you know their inventory since there aren't many of these store around town per se. read more

We bought a beautiful freestanding bath ton and the kind manager, Alex, delivered it to our home. We love our finds at Gersons and are so pleased with their services. read more

A wide variety of used and new building supplies. I will say they do have a lot of room, but they're organization is hit and miss in finding items. You can find the area, but sometimes you have to sort through items. Also outside items are getting torn down by the weather. I would have made this a 4 star, but the prices are not special. They get donations or something from the Home Depot and/or Lowes and other stores donated to this location which works with Beacon Foundation. I checked many prices at the regular stores and the prices were maybe 10-20% less, but often not enough to make a decision to buy second hand from the retail store. I am really disappointed that they do not clear out the damaged items and they don't have better pricing. They need to be more aggressive about discounting items that stay on the shelf or damaged. Walked through the whole place and found lots of things, but nothing worth the price. read more

Absolutely great finds some perfectly quirky for me! Ron is a great guy and an honest business man.

Buyer beware! I went in to look for a set of French doors for my granddaughter's house. The landscapers managed to break the glass with a weed eater throwing a rock into it. I found a set that was in fair (at best), and paid $162.93 for them. Got them home and realized they were 2 inches too tall. I took them back less than 2 hours later; didn't even take them out of my van. The girl said, "Sorry, we don't give refunds -- store credit, only." I informed them that no where on the receipt does it say, "No refunds". Long story short, one of the employees helped me find a pair that was the correct size. Same price. Got it home and realized the peg at the bottom that is used to lock the one side in place was missing. It was the only set they had, so I'm stuck with it. It's not like I shop at Gerson's each week and a "store credit" would be of any use to me. The employee who helped me find the door was a nice guy and explained to me how Gerson's examines the doors before putting them up for sale. I don't believe he intentionally lied, but I should have looked at them closer. The glass, in tack, and the size was my paramount concern. I didn't think to look at the stop at the bottom of the door. They have a sign, behind the counter and behind the plexiglass that puts a glare on their 8"X11" paper sign that says, "No refunds". Unless you're in the correct spot, you won't see it. It should be prominently displayed (with a caveat that says, "Buyer beware!" read more

We go there fairly often when shopping for home goods/repairs. The past few times we have left empty handed due to the prices. I know this isn't home depot or Lowes, but gosh, the prices could come down a bit. I actually "challenged" them on one price and was told they purchase and they have to pass some of the cost to purchasers. I like to wander, but miss the good deals they used to have. read more

Very poor run business. Manager beyond rude. Advertises price then changes it when you get there. Plus the store is an absolute mess.

If you get excited about paying retail prices for janky junk, THIS IS YOUR DREAM STORE! Every time I go in there it is a huge disappointment. Save your time and money. read more

I want to give more stars but I'm torn. In one hand, loose building materials at low prices SOUNDS good but then you get there. The prices are generally too high, the workers are nice but it's understaffed, and the selection depends on the day if the week. It's not quite. Candy store but you can get deals if you're patient. I got a nice saw my reclaimed wood for shelving for a little over $30 so I can't complain but a lot of the stuff is way overpriced. read more

I am not sure why people would give this place a bad review. It's awesome! But you really should know it's not like a Home Depot or even big lots. You really should go with no expectations, but bring any measurements you might have. For doors, windows, floors, etc... The staff is super friendly and helpful. I must have been asked how I was doing or if I needed help at least 5 times. Pretty cool guys if you ask me. I'll be back for sure! read more

Gerson's is an amazing place for used building materials. They have everything from bathtubs to doors to tile and a bunch of other treasures. We stopped in for an unconventional reason- to look for rustic items to repurpose for our wedding reception and we hit paydirt! Old shutters, mailboxes, etc. Some of the materials sit out in the open so they will get weathered, and be prepared to root around, but that's my favorite part. There's also a separate yard for wrought iron stuff and other metalwork. New material is coming in all the time so every trip to Gerson's is different! The staff is helpful and friendly as well. read more

What can i say i have bought and sold stuff to Gersons for 20 year. I was in there the other day to help a friend find a pink toilet, the 50's pink. This is the place to find things that will make your project more unique than just going to the depot. I have many things from here in my on house, it is not an easy thing though sometimes it takes multiple trips digging through thing that are dirty as crap and yes the actual crap sometimes. In the end you can find things to re-purpose. It however is not like it used to be things are much more picked over because of the design shows and such, but if you are willing to do the work cool things can happen to you too. read more

If your looking for a deal this ain't it! Overpriced stuff rotting in the sun. You'd think if the prices were a little more fair maybe you'd leave with something but end up shaking your head at the price read more

Great customer service, wide selection of used goods, their eco paint is great. We come here often and will continue to do so...

Gerson's hours are from 10-4 so pretty much if you don't live or work in the neighborhood... don't bid on anything here. Oh also liked how on auction nation things that were $5 they are trying to sell for $25 in their shop... classy joint read more

I would go here just to check and see what they have if you are in the market for used items to help renovate your home but expect it to be expensive. They have A LOT of things, in an "organized" but messy fashion, but the prices on most things are high or the same price as new. read more

What happened?! Ever since you changed your location your prices have gone increasingly skyward. I'm always looking for recycled products but with a price that reflects just that. I miss what you used to be. I'll probably never go back. read more

Buyer beware. Anything that comes in a box that says "OK" labeled on side.... is probably not "OK". Just purchased a steam mop that was missing most every part to assemble. Pretty much worthless and for the price I will need to pay to order the parts I could have purchased one at Home Depot with a lot less trouble. Save yourself the time and frustration. Don't buy anything in a box. Cabinets or bricks or paintbrushes... maybe. But certainly nothing that requires any assembly or has various parts required. read more

Over priced. Simple as that. $15 for a chunk of irrigation drip I can get at home Depot cheaper. It's a joke and this place is preying on people who don't check prices apparently. read more

Delusional prices! These people used to be my "go-to" for recycled materials. There is tons of crap, but just that. They want the same price for USED/SALVAGED/RECYCLED building materials. NOT WORTH THE DRIVE! read more

I was very disappointed with Gerson's. They have a large selection of items and they have a new large space. Everything is well organized but the prices are ridiculous! I can't believe this place can stay in business with those prices. Maybe people just don't know any better. I'm giving 2 stars because the employees were nice and accommodating. I will not return. read more

they are a bit pricey [but good luck finding the price] considering that everything is used & almost always requires some sort of sprucing up... the habistore has wayyy better pricing & about the same selection of household materials.. what they do have is a great selection of bricks & outdoor materials but again, good luck finding a price. read more

Great place to look for items! Of course, you need some patience and to understand that you may not be able to find exactly what you are looking for. It's a great first stop to get ideas and prices. read more

Prices here are delusional. They charge retail prices for used junk. Buy it new with a warranty. You will be spending about the same amount of money. read more

Gereson's has a great selection of anything from doors, windows, and lumber to antiques and housewares. They are pretty pricey on most of their items although some good deals do exist read more

I went in last week and had an excellent experience. I bought a hand tool and some household appliances for my wife at about half the price of anywhere else I could find them. The staff was extremely helpful, must have gotten asked 3 or 4 times if I needed help. I would recommend this as a first stop for anyone! read more

Looking for a new door? A door to replace after a night of partying? And don't want to pay mega bucks! Well this is the place for you! We went because it was under the heading lighting fixtures, but It wasn't really what we expected. You want a toilet seat, top or new toilet well then you can Mix and Match the colors! Yes this place is for the major do it yourself kind of person, you can rummage through a lot of stuff! read more

Went to purchase a hose reeler. Saved $10 compared to Home Depot. Found other stuff that could come in handy on future builds. Only negative, we would of looked longer if they had some heating but was too cold. read more

Boy has Gerson's gone down hill. Lousy prices for real junk. I meAn JUNK!

I am happy that Tucson has a place like Gersons! I have been going here for YEARS! And Always find something that I could use. Thank you Gersons! read more

I agree with all the other customers they are way too pricey for used items that either been donated or under sold to them for low prices and the lower price items are either damaged or not worth purchasing. Sanford and Sons for sure. read more

Gerson's is greedy! They used to be OK but somebody has corrupted them with a new business model that goes beyond "whatever the market will bear." Now they are scamming customers. They apparently count on the fact that most people don't know what things cost and just assume they are getting a good deal at a used materials place. But you can actually get some things cheaper at Home Depot! As one employee told me, "to us, pipe is pipe" and they don't seem to get that old, bent, rusted pipe is not the same as new. Do them and their customers a favor and always compare their prices with what it costs new. Even if it is a little cheaper consider the condition and that "all sales are final"--no refunds, no exchanges, and of course no guarantees. The market works both ways. We the customers have some power. read more

Gerson's is worse now than when Ron Gerson owned it and that is saying a lot because it was terrible then. Staff doesn't help and couldn't even if they wanted to. Lots of junk, most of it damaged and overpriced. Save your money and buy elsewhere. read more

Gersons is a great business that always has tons of cool stuff. They have everything from Christmas lights and decorations to a piano to doors and windows to building materials. terrible, horrible and waste of time!!! Waited to get help with paint but they were to lazy to get it off pallet. left me and other person just standing there. sent a guy over with fork lift and said let us know when you are loaded up and simple walked away. we both gave up when when we figured out they expected us to unwrap a pallet that was three down and lift up 5 gallon paint bucket ourselves and load them on pallet. walking to my car i stopped inside to see what was going on. they were sitting on desk. i was surprised that they actually asked me if i needed something. did not even recognize me after telling me a bunch of crap and leaving me waiting outside.wanted to tell them how bad they were, but did not see the point. if did not care before why would they care now. Not the first time i have been there but will be the last. prices are way too high, service awful and rude. products broken and worthless. do not waste your time and/or money. worth it to go to home depot, read more
