Well , we liked illuminations for the layout and displays. You can really get a feeling of choices. But the light sets we liked was $100. Less for the pair at least 2 other places. With no 3 week wait period or 4 pct credit card fee. Not that much but things have an influence. Definitely a great place to start looking. read more

Lots of lights, lots of styles. Mostly contemporary designs, though. They also now do furniture, mostly sofas that I could tell. Very expensive place. The gentleman is helpful and friendly. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. We needed some lightbulbs for an old track lighting fixture. After trying big boxes and Amazon it occurred to us to try a specialty store. The woman who helped me spent lots of time with me. She suggested an alternative and then checked the wattage of what was in their storage. Finally had to order some and she phoned the supplier before placing the order. It arrived in the anticipated 2 week time frame and they phoned me as promised. Told them that I would recommend them to anyone possible because, though I was only spending 100$, I was treated as if I were spending 1000$. I strongly suggest anyone in Tucson or Pima County check out Illuminations if shopping for lighting fixtures or fans. They are one of the best lighting fixture stores I've seen in Tucson. Brittany helped us on our two visits to the showroom to customize a light fixture for our dining room. She has an excellent design sense, and is incredibly knowledgeable about lighting fixtures and fans beyond what is even available in their inventory, which is robust. We're looking forward to getting our new light fixture as well as additional light fixtures and fans from her. A visit to Illuminations is a must for anyone looking for a light fixture or a fan. This review is my review based on the interactions with this business. I would not recommend this business to anyone looking for lighting, ceiling fans or any other household furnishing. We purchased a ceiling fan from this company back in February 22nd and waited about 2-3 weeks for delivery (to the store, not my home, which means a 45 minute drive). I installed the fan a few weeks later and immediately noticed it was not operating properly. The fan would violently shake and make popping sounds. The fan would shake so much that the LED light eventually popped off. On April 13th I called Illuminations and was told I would I have a new fan control ordered to see if it would fix the issue. I was told we would try this first then if it didn't work we would replace the whole fan. I waited 15 days before a new part was available which it wasn't shipped to me, it meant another 45 minute drive. At this point my wife and I decided to go another route and we returned the fan. Now we were never told there were any refund stipulations or restrictions. Now we were only given a store credit instead of a refund. Why would I want to buy another item from a company who sold me a defective item then required me to make multiple trips in order to fix the problem? Again this is my interaction with Illuminations, but I would not recommend this store to anyone. Do yourself a favor and find a big box store or another retailer. read more

Modern and chic, Illuminations is the perfect way to collaborate with knowledgeable and professional design specialists to realize your design vision! I was very pleased to see a gorgeous array of furniture design options as well as lighting. I went in to look at lighting and ended up with a modern chandelier and stayed to consult with the team on furniture design (hint, the sky is the limit!) It can be challenging to find a more cosmopolitan store in our lovely little town but Thomas, and Illuminations deliver a curated and seamless experience that rivals any larger city. We have been very impressed with Illuminations. Maggi Parker assisted us with our decisions on 7 new overhead fans and 2 new bathroom lighting fixtures. Some came in right away, but we had to wait a few weeks for the others. Maggi and her colleagues kept us up to date on delivery. After our electrician installed everything, we did have noise problems with 2 of the fans, which Illuminations handled with the fan manufacturer to get replacements. We drove to this store this morning from the Oro Valley area. Walked in around 11am and did a counter clockwise walkthrough of the store. We passed two employees who were both apparently doing something important at their computers. Both employees looked up and gave us a quick hello and that was it. No other effort to get up and introduce themselves or offer us any type of assistance whatsoever. We were looking to replace our dining room chandelier with a budget around $3K. We did not see anything in the showroom that matched what we wanted. I commented to my spouse that they probably had catalogs that we could peruse, but the lack of service was off putting. We decided to leave and do not plan to come back. Two stars only because they had a nice showroom. read more

Walked in to store today to purchase lighting products. Staff never acknowledged our existence, let alone ask if we needed anything. It was almost as if we were upsetting them that we had come in so close to lunchtime. No other customers in the store, yet the 3 elderly employees there at the front desk never greeted us or asked if they could help. Will not be going back. Probably better to just order something from Amazon cheaper and not care about any customer service. I would not have clicked one star if given that choice. read more

I needed some under cabinet lights for our newly redone kitchen. I had gone to another place that I had used previously and found them clueless but I did find a sample of what I wanted. I got the cutsheets on the lights and did my own research on what I needed and discussed it with my electrician who agreed that these would work. When I went to Illuminations, and spoke with Linda. Appreciated that they had signs at entrance to wear a mask (which we did). We were looking for kitchen pendant lights and a replacement patio fan.The beautiful showroom had a large selection of both plus tons of catalogues as well. The sales folks are knowledgable and patient. We weren't able to buy the "perfect" pendents from them, however ended up buying a Mika Aire fan with their June sales promotion. In addition they had several recommended contractor electricians to install the fan and our other items. We went with Custom Electric and are very pleased with them as well. read more

The manager contacted us and tried to fix the issues. There is no 18" downrod that works with the fan we got - if the correct one had been ordered in the beginning, then we would have known before it was installed and we would have gone with a different fan. As it is, we have a less than perfect fan in our main room. If I don't point it out then a majority of people may not notice. Secondly, they refunded the restocking fee. The manufacturer says that the light kit does work with that fan - but they couldn't tell me how to attach it without rewiring the fan, that too would have been nice to know ahead of time. All-in-all, things could have been handled differently and I'm sure people will have good experiences, I just am not one of them. I added a star since the effort was made to make it right - but not possible with the same fixtures. read more

He has great design sense and if we don't see what we are looking for in the store he will help us find it in a catalog. Illuminations is a great lighting store. The staff offers very good customer service, the kind you just won't experience at the big box stores, and I found the prices to be competitive. If you want well-made lighting fixtures or lamps, and an extensive selection in the store and through catalogs, then check out this store. The manager, Thomas, even came to my property to survey the lighting needs for a remodel and measure the height of the ceilings, and he did not charge for an on-site visit. LOVE this store. Since we moved into our new house I have bought three ceiling fans and a few light covers. They have a great selection of lights and fans to choose from and they arrive quickly once they order them. They are not snooty at all. I go in every time in tshirt and jeans. I find their employees to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I bought two wall sconces with European sockets from a different vendor. They were the only place in town that had adaptors to allow standard light bulbs to work, and they gave them to me for free. I will continue to be a loyal customer at Illluminations.
