Jose has been taking care of my houses for the last 4 years! Prefer him over everyone else because the job is efficient, clean, and tidy. I don't pay for regular service just the quarterly property cleanups. & his price beats everyone's quote by $200+ or more, AND they are usually dispatched out within the same day or the following! Super fast. Love it! 10/10 recommend read more

I used the gardening service from Jose for about 15 months to do a monthly maintenance on our rental home for the Front and Rear Yard for $95/month. The initial was a clean up from them which cost $190 to clean out about 2 months of weeds that had grown since we rented the house out. Since it's a rental home, I required photos to be sent to me when service was done via text. I then paid promptly the same day, and never late. However, the past few months, no photos were sent and I had to remind Jose that I needed photos. The last straw was when he sent me a Venmo request without any photos. For the last 15 months, no Venmo request was ever sent to me because I promptly paid on the day of service. I ended the service as of today. read more

Amazing crew! On time, hard working and worked wonders on my long neglected yard for a really fair price. Going to set up twice a month service to keep my yard neat. read more

Jose and his crew have done weekly maintenance on our yard in Pleasant Hill for many years. I am pleased with his service and the reasonable rates charged for keeping my yard neat trimmed well. I needed to help my daughter with her yard and Jose was kind enough to maintain her yard In Martinez and our yard every other week. I came home after cutting down a small palm tree and the stump had been removed by Jose and his crew without my asking. A nice surprise. He also shaped an overgrown palm also without my asking. Be specific about what you want done and get a quote. I'm sure you will be happy with Rodriguez Garden and Landscape. read more

I'm incredibly impressed with Jose and his team! I quickly realized that I couldn't manage an acre property by myself and I let the yard get out of control. Called Jose and he came by a few hours later to walk the property with me and gave me a SUPER reasonable quote for getting my place in order and regular maintenance. Fit me into his schedule 3 days later and spent the whole day here, now the yard looks amazing. Jose's pricing is very fair, is on time down to the minute, and is super easy to reach. At every moment, Jose had my best interests in mind, and was honest with me about best options for my property, and made a lot of suggestions that would be best financially for me. I am so glad to have found Jose here on yelp and I will recommend him to everyone i know! read more

For a few years service was ok, standard mow and blow at a reasonable price. About 4 months ago the service became very sporadic and about 2 months ago poof... gone like a fart in the wind... I called and texted multiple times and haven't heard a peep. read more

Jose is an awesome gardener... he is reliable and fair priced... I interviewed a few gardeners before choosing him. I was looking for someone that not only was doing my front and backyard, but also to service 3 of my neighbors as well. Our street has a lot of leaves that fall from the autumn and winter and Jose makes sure that when he is done it doesn't even look like there were leaves there before. He takes pride in his work. Myself and my neighbors are very happy with him. We are in Oakley, so he does travel outside of Concord too. read more

We contacted Jose Rodriquez for landscaping service of our front yard. A person named Arturo who we believed to be a Rodriguez employee began doing our yard and it looked great for several months - couldn't be happier. Unfortunately Arturo disappeared sometime in February - a month goes by with no show no call, nothing. I called Jose only to learn that he had actually given our account to Arturo and now Arturo has disappeared and Jose too has been unable to contact him for a few weeks. My first thought (after WTH???) was to wonder why would he give our account to Arturo without telling us what is going on and my second thought (after WTH'ing some more) is why didn't Jose contact us when Arturo went AWOL. We are done with Jose Rodriquez and the new guy he tried to send to us this week. Not a good way to do business on any level to leave a customer hanging like this - especially one who was paying on time two months in advance. (Edited Wed 3/22) No way Jose - not true. You never told either of us that Alturo was not your employee - this was a big surprise for both of us to learn this week. You can't say you have nothing to do with him because YOU sent him out after we contacted YOU after finding your company here on Yelp. We never agreed to be handed off to someone that YOU chose for us. We also handed this person a check for every payment, made out to Rodiguez Garden and Maintenance - how did he cash them? If our account was too small you could have just said so and we would have kept looking. read more

I called Jose on a Sunday morning and left a message after another gardener had no call no show on me Friday. Jose called me back within 20 minutes and said that he could make it over later in the day to give me an estimate on what I needed done. He was running a bit late, but he communicated with me that he was and that he would be there soon. He got here and gave me a quote and I asked him when he could start. My back and front yard was like a jungle, no kidding. He arranged to do part of the job on Wednesday and then come back the following week to finish up. That was all fine. I came home from work Wednesday afternoon, and I could see the ground again!! The job was not completed yet but at least I wasn't looking at dead overgrown weeds anymore that was as tall as me!! Jose is quick, efficient, and really easy to communicate with. If your yard work is too difficult for you to handle or just need some extra help, give Jose a call. read more

Quick to reply, quick to schedule, and solid workers. Jose quoted me a very fair price for a clean up job at my house that had been neglected for months. His crew worked a whole day and hauled away all debris (8k sq.ft lot). The team were all very polite, courteous and knowledgeable. They know their business and do it well. It's been two weeks and the yard still looks great. Highly recommended. read more

So happy with my lawn! We moved into a place with an overgrown lawn and wild landscaping and a series of unfortunate events left to us neglecting it even more. It was bad, really bad. Jose came out the SAME DAY we called to give us an estimate. He quoted us a price for the initial clean-up and then for monthly maintenance, all reasonable prices. He was originally set to come on Sunday, but had time earlier in the week and contacted us to make sure we were ok with the earlier date. He arrived, let me know he was here, and spent 5 hours with his partner clearing, mowing, weed whacking...it was a lot of work. It was also wet/rainy and on the chilly side, but Jose said he wanted to try and get it done anyways. Let me tell you, my lawn looks amazing. They did a fantastic job and made sure my walkways were clear and all the waste was hauled away. Super efficient and friendly, too. Definitely give them a call, worth every penny and now my neighbors can't hate us ;) read more

Very reliable and reasonably priced. Jose listened to my requests and asked for feedback during the job. He is honest about any costs. He also is providing extras that i don't have to paid for. You will not be disappointed if you hire him read more

Jose responded promptly to my inquiry, came out the next day for a quote, quoted a fair price and completed the job (big job!) in a timely manner. It was a full day job and he brought a hard working crew in. Good work, good clean up, polite and thorough. read more

Don't use. Quoted one price. After work was done, told a higher price. I ended up paying the ironical price. Then he said I shorted him $40. I told him to check again. I've never heard or seen them since. Don't use them. Plenty of good companies out here to use instead of Rodriguez. read more

I called Rodriguez Garden & Maintenance yesterday out of desperation when my brand new lawnmower out of the box wouldn't start and my newly laid lawn was so tall that the sprinklers were barely watering it and I was worried about waiting longer to figure out the mower situation. I got a call back right away and luckily they were in my area and could squeeze me in that day. The guys came and did a fantastic job! The grass was so tall that they had to go over it many times to get it down- but they did and it looks beautiful! They took care to trim the edges, blew all the cut grass clippings and cut the lawn to a perfect height. I'm so happy with the work and so grateful they saved my new lawn! I will definitely be using them again! read more

Run not just walk away from this service!!! Decided to hire him after reading the positive reviews on Yelp, but Jose turned out to be a disappointment. The first time he came was great! But the guy whom Jose claimed to be his friend was the hard worker. He trimmed the vines in my backyard and did an excellent job.Jose decided to prune my roses when I just rpuned them. The week Jose came back, he was alone. He told me his friend had been drinking and in no shape to work. I felt like telling him I'm no Dr. Phil, and he should fix his problem prior to coming to work. In spite of the fact my grass needed cutting, he was only edging around it. I came out to tell him the tree in my backyard need some pruning. Immediately he said: "oh, that's too tall! I'd need a ladder. I also would need the trimmer. The day he came in, he was driving a car, he didn't even have a lawn mower!!! And he called himself a gardener. Then he dropped what he's doing, and told me he'll come back with his tools. He never did. Like I said...he's not the guy if you want a good gardener. I also doubt the other yelpers who gave him good reviews. read more

Called Jose and he called me back the same afternoon. He arranged to drop by the next afternoon, gave me a quick fair quote for what needed to be done (a MAJOR cleanup of front and back yards with tree pruning!) He arranged to return the next afternoon to do the job. He and his associate were professional and detail oriented (Jose even repaired a broken sprinkler. I hadn't asked him to do that.) There was also an overgrown shrub in the front yard which blocked 3/4ths of my walkway. I asked Jose to remove it, and 15 minutes later it was gone and the site was cleaned-up. Jose does good work and seems only too delighted to meet any expectations. Job well done, Jose. read more

Recently moved to Concord, and was looking for a quick clean up job in my backyard. I went to my trusted yelp app as I always do when looking for services. I called, he came the same day and gave me an estimate and said he would return the next day to do the job.I was very pleased with his demeanor and politeness. THe next day however, I stayed home waiting for him to show up and he never showed up!!! whats worse is I didnt even get a call ! That is truly unprofessional, and I would expect at least an apology and a date to reschedule if something came up. But to just not show is is RUDE! I cleaned up my dog droppings in the morning from my dog to make sure his crew would not step on any and have an easier time cleaning up. Did I mention I have two small kids! I dont have time to clean up all the time, but I made the time so that Jose would have an easier job cleaning up the debris in my backyard. Do not use this guy, maybe he thought he wouldnt get much money from this job and decided to just not show up? who knows, but Im getting a different gardener. Sucks for him, we were going to use his service for monthly maintenance after this job. Guess he doesnt want our business. Seems Im not the only customer he has left hanging from the other reviews I read on yelp. Update : A second person from his crew came two days later and started pickinng up debris, he told my husband something went wrong with one of his machines and that he would return the next day. He NEVER came back. There is still left over debris in my backyard. Therefore a comeback date was confirmed and they still did not show the next day as promised. Not sure how "unclear" that is? read more

I have had Jose for almost a year for lawn service and his lawn service is the best by far. He has done my lawn service at my house and many other projects which have turned out great. I had an issue recently and he came out within 30 minutes to fix. Great prices and services that can't be beat. read more

They did a great job cleaning up our backyard. We had a lot of overgrown weeds and plants. It took them just a few hours. Good work!

Jose and his crew have been working for me for about 1 year and I highly recommend him. I have a small enclosed yard with a lot of trees and shrubs that need regular pruning and general clean-up maintenance If there is an additional job that I need help with, such as repairing a drip line, Jose will quickly and expertly fix it. I appreciate that I don't need to be present to direct the work. Jose's experience and knowledge assures that whatever is needed will be done. I know I can rely on Jose! read more

Jose was quick to respond the day we called him. He stopped by and gave us a price to clean up an overgrown mess. Jose and his crew are hard working young men. Horrible service. Don't use this company. I live in Clayton and was looking for a good yard maintenance company and trusted the reviews on Yelp. I hired this company maybe 6 months ago and my yard looks terrible. It actually looks like I don't have anyone maintaining it, when in fact this company comes every other week. Everything in my yard is overgrown, there are weeds everywhere and in my front yard there were huge weeds that they never sprayed until they were told to do it. Then the only thing they did was cut the weeds and left all the dead plant material where it fell. This company was fired today and should have been fired months ago. read more

Oh happy day. Jose came over today with 2 of his workers at 7:30 a.m. (as we had arranged) and totally transformed my weed infested front and back yards. They had been left on their own for months and were a total embarrassment. All yard debris was hauled off leaving me with nothing but a skill and 2 clean yards. Both yards are now ready for some planting and tree trimming. I will be hiring Jose to do those jobs as well. Thank you Jose for the fantastic job! read more
