Great ambiance, great white fish tacos and excellent service. It gets very busy so go early or prepare to wait.

I found Rodrigo's Tex-Mex online via a Google search. from home in Chicago. We had a long drive ahead of us and we had been on the road for well over 8 hours. WE WERE VERY HUNGRY! We found ourselves inside of Rodrigo's at capacity and there was a 20 minute wait so we settled for seats at the bar as we were needing to ingest some flavorful cuisine. As it turned out sitting at the bar was a very worthwhile experience. We ordered our drinks which were prepared with precision and care right in front of s as our appetizer was served. We opted for the Rodrigos Queso with beef smothered in delicious creamy Mexican queso along with lots of black pepper and a hint of jalapeno! ! Possibly the best I have ever had! I actually inquired how it was made. The staff were very fun and friendly and we were both equally impressed with out entrees. My friend has fajitas and i went right for a trio of tacos. Traditional soft traditional tacos with shrimp, carnitas and beef. Full of flavor. The tortillas as well as the chips were all made in house and were over the top. Going to a touristy destination in far north Michigan the skeptic in me did not expect quality Mexican food but was wrong. Rodrigo's far exceeded my expectations and was filling thus solving our hunger issues and we had a pretty good time as well. Big thanks sand applause to the cooks and the staff at a wonderful and worthwhile dining experience. read more

The food is wonderful - we ordered the tostadas, taco salad, street tacos, white fish entree, and blood orange margarita! Our family of 4 was a happy bunch, service was impeccable and all the staff is so friendly. The atmosphere is fun and happy. We will definitely return! read more

I am giving an extra star because of the hard working people which was my exoerience. However $14 for a barcardi and coke is outrageous and we felt violated which ruined our experience. Also fill up the first complimentary salsa bowl because then you charge for more when it's like 4 oz for two people? Charging for extra chips also a bit annoying if you're charging outrageous drink prices. The positives- our friends loved their soup, beer was cold, margaritas $15 which again is pricey considering your charming $20-25/entree. I get inflation has hit us all but I doubt we will be back. Red mesa in Boyne is closer, just as tasty or tastier and about 30% cheaper. Place is tiny. Couldn't move around the dining room but it was cute and themed read more

Service was attentive and very fast. Food was just OK. Very bland. We were seated on a hard bench next to a cold exterior wall. I will not return. read more

It was ok. Been here twice now ans not a place I will go back. Not a lot of flavor. And just not worth it. We were giving the wrong bill. Waited a long time for drinks and water. And it wasnt busy.. read more

Food is good. Prices are high could be due to inflation. I want to inform new customers that this establishment only takes cash. We went to Chase ATM so we could pay as we don't carrying much cash. I wish we were informed that its cash only before ordering. They should post signs and have staff verbally tell people as I still believe most people expect to pay by card. I ordered the frozen strawberry Margarita which was good. For my entrée, I enjoyed the shredded chicken burrito served with rice and refried beans. My husband ordered tacos with different types of meat like chorizo and a Corona beer to drink. Overall, food is decent but the lack of communication regarding payment was a disappointment. read more

My daughter and I visited on a last-minute whim and OMG, were we happy we found Rodrigo's! The chips, salsa and guacamole were outstanding - so fresh! My daughter had the enchiladas suiza and I had the burrito. Both were so delicious and packed with flavor! The service was exceptional - everyone was friendly and checked in on us multiple times to make sure that we had what we needed. Did I mention the margaritas??? Wow! Overall, the whole experience was excellent. If you are ever in Harbor Springs, definitely make Rodrigo's one of your stops! read more

This place is amazing! Hard to believe that such authentic Mexican food is available in Harbor Springs! We love Mexican food and we also love margaritas, LOL! There are 9 Mexican - or Mexican Lite, such as Taco Bell - restaurants within a 15 mile radius of Petoskey, including Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, and Boyne City. Most of these are good, but in the opinion of myself and my wife, the very BEST is Rodrigos in Harbor Springs! The food is FANTASTIC and authentic, and the quantities are large. In fact, my wife and I just ate there last night, and, though leaving the restaurant full, brought home enough food for dinner tonight as well. As great as the food is, the waitstaff is even better. We were served by two individuals last evening - a waitress whose name I failed to get that sat us and took our orders, and a waiter, Georgie, and I hope I am spelling his name correctly. He was very helpful and very attentive to our dining needs - bringing us additional glasses of water whenever one was emptied without us even needing to ask. He also brought us takeout boxes without us having to ask. Even though this site only offers up to "5 stars", I would like to give Georgie "6 stars"! The only possible downside would have been the sound level. But this was due to the restaurant being full of customers who, I am sure, were discussing the almost unbelievably good food, rather than to loud music being played. How could anyone eat there and not discuss the great, authentic Mexican cuisine without discussing it with their table partners? Impossible. My wife and I highly recommend this restaurant, the food, and Georgie in particular. Enjoy! I just remembered one thing I wanted to add, so I came back to edit my review. I love refried beans - and have lived in Mexico for a short period of time, and in Costa Rica for 3 years - so have had some acquaintance with authentic Central American food. These were the best refried beans that I have EVER had - anywhere. I asked Georgie and was assured that they were made fresh every day, and were not as some complainer who gave the restaurant a "1", cold and out of a can. But the way, they were one of the only 3 reviewers out of 67 that gave the restaurant a "1". They must have just had a bad day and decided to take their frustrations out on the restaurant, as the vast majority of the reviewers gave Rodrigos a "5", as my wife and I did. A large number of reviewers also gave the restaurant a "4" rating. Again, ENJOY! read more

This location is a little on the small side - which causes the seating to feel a little cramped. It can almost feels like you are dinning in someone else's party. Chips were decent. Salsa was a bit on the spicy side-and everyone at our table typically is not effected too much by spicy salsas. This one gave a bit of a bite. Ordered a side of the guacamole-all in our party agreed it needed salt. For my liking... it also could have used a hint of lime. My three beef tacos were overloaded with beef and were difficult to keep from having beef spill out. They were a bit on the bland side. Another in our party had a chicken burrito. They indicated there was lettuce inside - which wilts because it is cooked inside the burrito. This individual also shared that the burrito meat needed to be seasoned. One our party had a margarita - which was delicious at $10. Service was ok. Not too overbearing, and was attentive enough. If back in the area, I might go back if in the mood-but would likely venture on to try other options in the vicinity. read more

Went to Rodriggos for dinner tonight. It wasn't our first visit, and certainly, it won't be our last! I left there thinking, why don't we come here more often? From the moment we stepped through the doors they were so friendly and helpful. We had a table of 6, 30 min wait - but they asked if we wanted a drink and served us in moments. We were sat soon there after. The service, food, and chill ambiance was a perfect send off to our vacation. read more

Went here based on the reviews. From the outside I was skeptical. Once inside it is not a very big place but is filled with very cool decor. I went there with a big party and everyone agreed it was some of the best Mexican food we have had. Would highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

You MUST give this place a try! Delicious chips and salsa, Great Lakes whitefish tacos, huge vegetable burritos, locally brewed beer choices, awesome margaritas and so much more! But that's just the start! Staff was SO friendly and nice. It would be a wonderful world if every restaurant's staff had the enthusiasm for what their establishments offered and interest in taking care of their customers that "Will" and the rest of the staff had. Very clean, nice environment .Thank you for an outstanding dining experience, Rodrigo's. read more

They welcome you saying "best Mexican food north of the 45th parallel," which is probably accurate (if you're not counting the west coast, anyway). The menu looks good. It's limited (in a good way) to just tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc. But, the food is just ok. The "homemade" crispy taco shell was just like something out of a box... so, if it's actually homemade, it's a sad attempt. The carnitas and ground beef were passable, but lacking. The guacamole, however, was delicious. If you're from a region with excellent Mexican cuisine, be warned... the clientele is easily impressed and the ratings are inflated. read more

Tues night, not too busy, but our service was painfully slow. Menus appeared fifteen minutes after our arrival. Waitress appeared fifteen minutes later to take our order. Food arrived ten minutes later, which was acceptable, but took forever to clear out table and bring the check. The menu is simple with six or seven entrees, unlike other Mexican restaurants that have 75 combination platters. I had three crunchy tacos and my husband had the shredded chicken enchilada. Both dishes were good with rice and refried beans included. The offered adult beverages are margaritas ($10 and up) and bottled beer. They also have Mexican soft drinks in bottles. We were not served water, but did not ask for it. Chips and salsa were brought to our table about ten minutes after we were seated. Prices are reasonable from $10-$16 for the entree. It's a nice change of pace to have a Mexican restaurant in town. We will go back. 3.5 Stars read more

Had a craving for some Mexican food and decided to stop here. Glad we did! I got the steak burrito and it was amazing! Tons of steak and excellent flavor. The margaritas are huge and tasted great. Everything down to the chips amd salsa has great fresh flavors. Waitress was awesome and very attentive. Place is pretty small, maybe 10 tables and another 10 hightops for the bar. Cool decor. Will definitely go back! read more

We decided to try Rodrigo's while staying in the area because it was open, close and had decent enough Yelp reviews. We were surprised by the quality of the food. The menu contained the typical Mexican restaurant fare, but the quality was a couple notches above typical. Especially impressive was a chicken and mushroom dish in a cream sauce --large chunks of grilled chicken and halved fresh mushrooms. The decor was very cool and artistic in a day of the dead theme, not cheesy sombreros and junk you see in some places. It was slightly more pricey than restaurants with similar menu offerings, but the quality made it well worth the small premium. read more

We ordered chips salsa and the Chimichanga meal. The food was a three but the service was easily a four, if there was a three point five then it would be a better fit. The restaurant is small inside and was packed we arrived. We waited for a while but it was worth the wait. We would go back if we are in the area again. The prices were pretty standard for the area. My wife had a margarita and said it was good as well. read more

This place is a must visit when you're in Harbor Springs! We were visiting the area and ended up coming in for dinner two nights in a row! The overall vibe is great, the decor is beautiful and eclectic, the service is friendly and fast, and the food is delicious! I had a frozen strawberry margarita and it was very tasty. The chips and salsa are perfect. Reeeeally good fresh salsa! Had crunchy tacos both times...first night beef, second night shredded chicken. I prefer the chicken over the beef, but both were fantastic! The homemade taco shells were wonderful, light, and crisp! There are only 3 servers and they are seriously killing it. I hope this little place keeps doing well, because they deserve to! We wish we could take you home with us to the Detroit area. Thank you for a wonderful dinner (twice!). :) read more

Food was good. Small but pleasant environment. Friday at 6pm seated right away. Could be due to time of year. The individual that served us could use training. We were told cash only. I assumed the system was down. But read another review and stated they only accept cash. The average meal cost from $15 to 17. Plan accordingly. The maguritias are pricey. Stick with the lowest cost the 1942 at $46. High end tequila you sip neat not in a magurita. Range from $13 to $46. Overall 4 star rating. Food 4 Drinks 3 Customer service 3.5 Ambience 4.5. Small place. Clean. Nice bar. Clean bathrooms. Payment system 1. In today's world I agree with cash but you can lose customers before they get a chance to experience the place. read more
