Fries with garlic aioli, creamy ranch and ketchup (they have great sauces)
Jenin J.

10/10. Best burger place in all of Rockwall, they do a great job of providing service and have been CONSISTENTLY great. My wife and I are long term customers and our Dobie - Draco loves the patio. They have great sauces. I would also make a small suggestion, won't hurt to have an option of burger sliders where we can choose from 3 mini version of a few burgers. All of them are great and worth the try. Thank you guys!

The food and the service here was impeccable! Also the view of the harbor was amazing to have while dining. I felt like I was in balboa beach in Cali ! If you're visiting Texas this is def a place you wanna visit ...

Sometime you just need a good burger. Rodeo goat hit the spot. I got the Habanero Ground Chicken, which had the perfect spicy kick and a side of queso for my fries. My friend fwent for the Billy Beef Burger with sweet Potatoe fries and a Crispy Diet Coke.

We had a great late lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Our server was super sweet and made great suggestions on beer and food options. The build-your-own burger I made (blt, mayo, and added avocado spread) was FANTASTIC!! The fries were a hit. Sweet potato and plain were both the most amazing addition to their burgers. Loved the spicy and regular ranch! Okay now to the margarita. Strong and tasted pretty good. My husband enjoyed the beer options (purple haze and dark matter). My only beef with the harbor is the parking. I don't feel the infrastructure here is set up for this much volume of stores and customers. Of course this isn't the restaurants' fault.

CHEESE FRIES NO SURPRISE

This location is great one to visit. The patio has a great waterfront view. There was a little bit of a wait, but well worth it. Cheese fries were delicious. Service was fast and our waitress checked up on us a lot. Drinks were good! I would definitely go back.

Good quality burger. Lamb burger is my all time favorite. Service took a while to come by on a weekend but overall okay.

We were visiting Rockwall and decided to give Rodeo Goat a shot for dinner. This spot definitely leans into its casual, lively Texas charm. It has a fun, loud, and bustling atmosphere with a gorgeous view of Lake Ray Hubbard. I can imagine the patio being a prime hangout in the cooler months, especially with that waterfront breeze. The restaurant operates on a seat-yourself system, which sounds simple enough, until it isn't. On our Wednesday evening visit, the place was packed, and it took a bit too long for servers to notice new tables and get menus out. We also noticed a bit of a lag in getting tables wiped down and flipped for waiting guests. There are a few TVs scattered around for the sports fans, which adds to the upbeat, casual vibe. Now, let's talk food--burgers are clearly the star here, and they do them well. My husband ordered the BILLY F GIBBONS (formerly the Bad Hombre), which came stacked with candied bacon, caramelized onions, gouda, mango pico, cream cheese, and trailboss sauce. He noted the mango pico had a nice kick without being overwhelming, and surprisingly the gluten-free bun actually tasted good (a rare feat for anyone GF). I went with the RAY HUBBARD, topped with white cheddar, candied bacon, blackberry compote, and bourbon mustard. The patty was juicy, the bun soft, and while the combo sounded like magic, the bourbon mustard really overpowered the dish. I was hoping for more from the blackberry compote. It was barely there, which was disappointing because it could've added a great balance to the richness. We split an order of sweet potato fries, which were crispy and well-seasoned. Also, bonus points: they don't skimp on the ice in their tea, which is the kind of little detail I absolutely notice and appreciate in Texas heat. A quick note for my fellow gluten-free diners: they do offer GF buns, even though it's not noted on the menu. Just be cautious if you have a true allergy because fried sides share a fryer, so cross-contamination is a risk. Overall, this was a satisfying stop with flavorful burgers, a high-energy vibe, and fair prices. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to hit another Rodeo Goat location, but this visit left us full and happy.

It was a cold day and we were celebrating a birthday. The seating was a bit cramped, but we did fine and in a way it made it easier to talk to each other. Our server was friendly but getting our drinks was a bit slow. Once I got my rattle snake I was quite pleased. The food is always top notch, never an issue. I always get the battle of the burger because it's so fun to try a new burger. Their goat chips are my absolute favorite and I wish those were bottomless. Their ranch is always a must regardless of what you get.

My new favorite burger place. Great atmosphere, right on the lake. The staff are super nice. Classic Rock playing, outdoor patio - what's not to love?

Rip Wheeler with sweet potato fries

We were down in this area to visit family and my niece and her husband brought us here to eat. What a great menu and awesome selection of specials burgers. We had Texas Caviar as our app and I had the build your own burger and everyone else had the Ripp Wheeler burger. We all had the hand cut fries as well as separate order of sweet potato fries. Our server was great and made sure our food came out great. My burger was cooked just right. Next time we're here to visit family we will come back .

Sweet Potato fries

We had lunch here on a Monday afternoon and sat outside on the patio. I thought the swings for benches was a neat idea and the view of the lake is incredible. We ordered the sweet potato fries and they came out hot and delicious. The ranch dressing was excellent as well. I ordered the Levi's Blue Jean Burger and it was pretty decent but the blue cheese wasn't the best, and the burger could've tasted meatier for a double patty burger. Overall we had an amazing experience and our waitress Gianna was excellent and provided amazing quick service. I would recommend Rodeo Goat out of all the restaurants here at the harbor if you're coming to enjoy the scenery and good food.

BODACIOUS (2 patty)
Nick C.

Came with some friends for my first time and had a great experience. I ordered the Bodacious burger and it was delicious. The bbq sauce was sweet with a hint of spice from the jalapeños paired well together with the crunch from the onions. I ordered mine with 2 patty and it was so delicious I ordered it twice. The service was quick and the staff is very friendly. I look forward to going back. Great ambiance outside by the water.

Since we were going to the show, why not go for dinner? I mean we have never been. Love that you can book reservations online. Super easy to get through the gate and it has amazing views. We were greeted by the host who was so kind. The place was super busy, I assume due to the show. So, we had to wait about 10 minutes. Table right in the middle of action... 1 min... 2 min... 7 minutes no greeting nothing and a woman walks by and says she will be right us. Cool. Thanks for letting us know. Walks past us 4 more times and nothing. The good thing is clearly someone else noticed and brought us water and said she was helping while the server got caught up. Okay. Everything will be OK. Whole ordering our drinks the server took over. Ordered drinks. App and 2 entrees. Then she was gone. 30 minutes after seating... nothing. Not even drinks yet. 32 minutes... she brings my husband's can of beer. No glass. No manhatten. She says they are working on mine. After 32 minutes (at least 20 minutes after ordering our drink)... can we have a glass? 5+ minutes later she brings me my manhattan... in a wine glass? Before I smell it I ask if its a manhattan because it looked like wine (damn good pour). Her response... I don't know. Never had one before. And still no glass. A. The Manhattan was fabulous and a ridiculously amazing pour. And for the cost... damn. Thats amazing. We decided she never rang in our drinks. Its the only thing that makes sense. It had really quieted down and the bartenders were working hard. And thats fine. But own it. Another 40 minutes and she stopped by once. Said our food was coming. But honestly haven't had a server who seemed to care less about her table in quite a while. Food came about 45 minutes after ordering. We ordered the Philly egg rolls... flavor was awesome. But they were cold. Clearly they had been sitting... for a while. Literally the cheese had melted onto each other and cooled. The entrees came at the same time. Smash burger and chicken fried chicken. Both honestly really good. The mashed potatoes were cold though... not sure if its because they werent kept warm in the prep station or if our plates just died waiting on server. Flavors were good though, including the gravy and fries. Good seasoning. We asked for ranch. Can you believe she never brought it? Nope us either. Seriously. The service was the worst we had in a while. It seemed exlusive to our table/server. I finally got her name at the end... Leandra. I am not trying to put her on blast everyone has a bad night. When my husband asked about the ranch. She said oh I forgot that too.. no apologies for that or the entire night. I said well it has been a rough night... she said yep. Here's the check. We are super nice... lots of grace... but this service made me almost want to not return. But... this is a small business trying to create something for our community. So im going to return oncs more and score is based on potential. But please owners.... staff is hard to come by, and maybe it was a rough night... but no one will survive if 30 minutes with not even drinks and cold food is acceptable. Its a beautiful space, flavorful food and great energy im very hopeful.

And my biggest pet peeve: entrees AND appetizers came out at the SAME time. Other tables around us got their service in the right order, so... was it us? A table seated after us got their appetizers within 5-10 minutes. Then their mains. Just really shoddy service I'm sad to say. And whatever you do, do NOT order the Spinach Artichoke dip... so runny, watery... probably straight from the microwave. Absolutely inedible. But hey, the view overlooking the lake was nice! My husband and I ordered the combo meal, which included two tacos, a drink, and a side of queso. I had the Fish & Chips taco... it was AMAZING. I worked at Captain D's for years, and they could definitely learn a few things from Velvet Taco. The fish was perfectly crunchy, the ingredients were fresh, and they even included actual crunchy potato chips. My husband ordered the salmon taco and said it was absolutely delicious. He enjoyed it so much that he went back and ordered a second taco, the Pork Al Pastor, and loved that one too! When he told Gustavo how great everything was, Gustavo said, "You can always leave us a review." I was already planning to! To top it all off, we celebrated my husband's birthday with a delicious slice of red velvet cake. By far one of the best places to get fresh, flavorful tacos in Rockwall. The service was also excellent, friendly, attentive, and helpful. We really appreciated the recommendation to try the queso because it ended up being one of the best parts of the meal.
