These guys really know what the customer wants and how to hire the most professional staff. My husband and I just bought a new home and discovered that we had a bad rodent problem. I am happy to say very satified. Called Sunday night they were able to come in the next couple of days. I saw a mouse in our courtyard, first thing that came to mind was... Omgosh we have an infestation. But when they came they informed me because of cold weather the little pest come out to look for warm shelter. Grossly overpriced, inspection geared toward unfounded fear tactics, erroneous facts, and insulting to the intelligence of the customer

The salesperson was very pleasant however the price was shocking. The estimate was for $5,000 which blew me away. That same day I went to Home Depot, bought wire mesh, walked around the house and sealed it up myself. I placed several traps in the attic and around the house and caught the rats myself. Total cost, $30. They came in through a small hole by an exterior pipe. I sealed it up and its been many days and no more rats. I wish them the best in business but unless it is an extreme situation there is no reason to charge so much. Take a few minutes and you can do it yourself. read more

This company was great! Living next door to the LA Arboretum, I get all sorts of critters...most are delightful, but not the rats and mice. The young men who came worked the entire day sealing up every nook and crevice. 2 weeks later they came back to inspect and disposed of the one mouse who got caught. Also, they said if I found any more, or traces of them to give them a call and they would come back. Pros: - free evaluation and quote - rodent specific as opposed to some of the other ones in my area who did all types of pests (I always prefer a specialist) - sent a team which was great for getting all the work done in one day (the house had openings/broken vents all over which took the team of 3 almost four hours, and they were thorough and fast, which means one exterminator might have taken a whole day or even a couple days I'm guessing) - are pet-conscious... I have a dog and the specialist said most rat problems are at houses with dogs, whose scents attract the rats (which is mind-boggling but my theory is rats are scavengers, hyenas of the domestic world, so I guess they follow bigger predator smells to find their version of a carcass)... they use only organic products and make sure every trap is in a place where my dog can't access - removed/cleaned droppings and also disinfected areas (which another company told me they do not do, this was a BIG factor in the decision) - from Heather @ the office to the evaluation specialist (Zev) to the entire team who came for treatment, everyone was very professional and knowledgeable and accommodating (the team stayed longer after the walk-through of all the work to fix a broken vent that was hidden behind hedges I had found in the morning, and to remove all the contents of drawers where they found a dead rat at the beginning of treatment) -lifetime guarantee (which at first didn't seem like a pro until I talked to other companies who only gave anywhere from 30 days to 6 months guarantee.... The 6 month guarantee company also offered an every-2-month maintenance program with fee... which I feel is pointless as it seems like they're ok with a relationship with you, which I don't really like. I had Rodent Stop over to my house to give me a quote on getting rid of rats in the basement. They quoted me $11,000 and the person tried to scare me into doing it emergently, saying I should leave my house immediately or else risk formaldehyde poisoning. Meanwhile, we had the problem for likely several months. I went with another company who did the job for $1500. Shop around! These guys want to rip you off. read more

Pro: 1.They were very responsive for a request for an estimate and sent someone out the next day. I received a written quote within a couple of hours. Con: 1.They won't give you a ball park quote over the phone, even though the salesman/technician that came out to my house gave me a "flat rate price" based on square footage. Why couldn't they just tell me over the phone that the charge $X/per square foot? 2. The price they quoted me was almost $10,000 for a 1200 SF house. That's absurd! 3. Of that nearly $10,000 price, $6,000 was for removal of the old insulation and putting in new insulation. I made one phone call after the salesman/technician left and was quoted a price of $2200 to remove the insulation, vacuum the attic and replace the insulation from a licensed insulation contractor. While I'm sure Rodent Stop would have done an excellent job spraying disinfectant and pheromones, I doubt it would be worth $3800. 4. They wanted to charge almost $5000 for "Proofing and Repairs - Seal & Secure any openings throughout property." Remember this is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom 1200 SF house. It would have to look like Swiss cheese to justify almost $5,000 in repairs, which it does not. BTW, the house has all new ducting and appliances since we just completed a major remodel, so they have even less work to do than typical. I met with another highly rated (per Yelp) rodent abatement company, who did the same work and their price was slightly more than 50% of Rodents Stop price, a savings of $4500. They completed the work and I am very happy with the work they did. While I expect Rodent Stop will do a good job, I recommend you shop around and save yourself a lot of money. read more
