I don't give reviews online, but I feel that this is one time that I need to based on my experience with Julio and rodent proofing intelligent company. There I was, Sunday night on March 8, 2026, when I heard scratching and movement noises close to my cabinets in the kitchen. I made phone calls for the next 45 minutes, and then I called this business and left a message at 10:25 p.m., then 10 minutes later, I got a call from Julio! He made an appointment for the morning which is today. He gave me a really good price, a 6-month warranty, and he showed me photos of all the areas of issue at my home. ​When I looked at Yelp for Rodent Proofing Intelligence reviews only one "Three star review" was there & the good reviews were considered not to be relevant & were held out of a 5-star category... and all of these not relevant reviews were five star reviews! What's the reason we give reviews if it's not counted? I made a choice to choose a smaller company, someone that had excellent reviews, and someone that could do a good job for me. And I did that on the basis of reviewing the "Not recommended" section of yelp's review system. Again, I see a big problem with yelp. However, I am very happy with the service that was provided by Julio. So I ask people out there reading these reviews to consider a company, to maybe do what I did and take a look at all of the reviews whether recommended or not. Because I found that the reviews that Yelps said weren't acceptable, were exactly what made me make my decision to hire this company. Thank you so much for helping me, Julio. P.S. I do find that the reviews on Yelp mobile version, and the Chromebook version of Yelp are extremely different. As his guardian, I had Rodent Proofing Intelligence (RPI) rat proof my very old uncle's, very old "deferred maintenanced themed" rat playground house. A year ago I had a really rough time with mice in my house. They damaged my oven and made their way all around. I killed about 9 but just couldn't get the last few. That was about 9 months ago. I own my own business and know that the actual best professionals aren't usually listed up top and so I dug deep and found Julio. Tbh i did contact a few companies, or Yelp pushed them to me but when i interacted with them i could tell exactly who I didn't want to work with, and that was most of them. Some wanted to put me on a recurring payment over time, and I think I figured out why and how after Julio's help. He did a thorough inspection of the ENTIRE house, blocked off ALL access that mice use even waaay up top on the second story and took photos. He sent me like 34 photos when he finished. After he hermetically sealed the house he set traps for those stuck inside. He scheduled a return date to check the traps. I ended killing one more on my own two weeks later so used called him to let him know. He said, Ah, that one was probably stuck inside and couldn't get out. Then he checked the other taps but none were tripped. He was sure there weren't any more. And he was right! No signs of a mouse since. I could tell Julio was honest from the get. And I could tell that he knows how mice act and worked accordingly. He didn't leave a way in on purpose so he would have more work. We had a rodent infestation to where the rodents had pooped in several places inside our home and fought eachother leaving traces of blood and destroyed certain items in our closet. We have a Terra cotta roof (beautiful Spanish style, but also very prone to rodents). I sent out the request to Julio and he was very quick to respond and come out for a quote. I was extremely impressed by his knowledge and expertise - and more importantly he didn't try to "sell" me anything if you know what I mean. He showed up when he said he would for the initial quote/walkthrough and was far more thorough than other companies that gave me a quote. If THANK YOU was a person, it would be me. I use yelp to look up businesses, but I've never written a yelp review before. Until now. I had a pest issue that the approved vendor at my community hadn't been able to solve since the end of September 2023. Julio came in and identified why within 15 minutes. To say that I have a phobia of mice is an understatement, so I was bracing myself to be brushed off, or be given a canned response ("so sorry this is happening to you", blah blah). His simple response: most people do. A+ for his simple way of just letting that be what it is. Julio looked at every corner, cabinet, and closet. He looked in drawers, behind doors and dishwashers. Outdoor, patios, vents. Places I never thought to look. And definitely places the community provider, who has contracts at multiple properties, overlooked despite at least 5 visits to my place. My house had mice several years ago; we found them in a basket of ancient grains and hominy corn in the kitchen just pigging out and raising babies so we were confident that the basket was it's nest and thus 80% of the problem. But how did they get in? I called Orkin to remove the remaining pests, inspect for more and set traps and spray to keep new critters away. After calling Vector Control Services and getting a free inspection, we determined they came in from the roof, thanks to low hanging branches from a tree overhanging the roof and a sizeable hole in the house/garage firewall siding nearby. Our neighbor has since cut down that tree, and we have since replaced the roof fixing the hole. The Orkin guy, after 6 months, the tree removal, and the new roof, was too expensive to retain and after a while he wasn't clearing traps; just spraying for bugs. So we cancelled. Then last winter, it rained and rained and this spring, we found new dead rats in the old traps the Orkin guy left behind in our crawl-spaces under the house. They probably entered through gaps in the foundation that the Orkin guy told me about that I forgot to deal with. So I called Julio and a few other competitors to remove some dead rodents and to rodent proof the foundation. He checked *very* thoroughly. Most of the competitors I used; Rodent Solutions, Honest Rodent Proofing, and Alley Cat came in and out, and really only checked where I said were problematic areas. Julio was the only one who checked the floor insulation in my crawl-space ceilings for droppings (identifying a contaminated section small enough that he was gracious enough to replace for free). He also checked the outer perimeter and found several more rat holes under stair platforms along the foundation most others missed. He even found and checked another crawl space that's not accessible through the house that I completely forgot about. And finally, while most techs spent 10-20 minutes, his inspection took the entire hour he said it would. He cleaned with bleach and other eco-friendly cleaning agents and used natural deterrents like peppermint. Also, he used high tensile chicken wire and concrete instead of foam/brillo meshing and plaster to seal holes, the later being materials that rats could easily gnaw through in no time. The estimate was a third of the price of Alley Cat's, who's tech was a very close second to him, making him the obvious choice. So kudos to him! read more
