Scrambled eggs corn beef hash, home fries and toast
Renee A.

Very nice staff! Great value for a meal too!! We had breakfast for 4 people and the bill was about $35!! Crazy! The portions were not small either! I had scrambled eggs, home fries, and homemade corn beef hash. It was really good. It's a place you might drive by and never notice but it is worth checking out!!

In a state with plenty of delicious breakfast options, it can be hard to choose just one. Rodd's has quickly grown into a favorite of mine with just how QUICK everything is. For starters, you walk right in and pick your own table; no need to wait for someone to seat you. I have always been greeted right away, had my drink and breakfast order taken care of, and then received my food piping hot and delicious! The home fries are absolutely to die for, crispy and seasoned right off the griddle. The portions are generous and the food is clearly made fresh; no frozen food here! I will say I much prefer their breakfast options to lunch options, as I did find a chicken wrap I got here once to be quite bland. I truly can't rave enough about the speed of this place. I really hate waiting for over 20 mins just to get a table for breakfast, and this happens quite a lot at other comparable breakfast places around. Rodd's may look small on the outside, but there is plenty of seating on the inside and I've never had to wait. No hangriness here!!

Late review, we were in last Saturday, 8/22/15. 1st timers to Rodd's Restaurant. My wife ordered the Breakfast Club sandwich, I went with the Meat Lover's Omelet. We both thought our breakfasts were decent, although the home fries could've used a bit of seasoning, they were bland tasting. Service was very good, we certainly would come back in the future.

The outside of their flavorless burger is burnt and tough while the inside still had raw spots.

Went to Rodd's based on the reviews and how this restaurant has over 1 star is beyond me. This review isn't about the service, which was the saving grace, the complaint is about the food quality and the restaurant itself. I came on Saturday 13th at about 12:50pm. A little over an hour before business closing time, plenty of time to eat without rush. Sat down and noticed a few fruit flies or some sort of flying bugs doing their bug business around the table, ok maybe they're just looking for shelter in this cold day, right? Well I managed to kill a couple. Management maybe is used to hearing people clapping to kill the bugs because no one came to apologize for the nuisance. The menu itself had an amazing selection and I was eyeing the stuffed burgers they offer. I ordered the Mac and cheese stuffed burger, fries, coffee, and water. The bugs still flying around, some more clapping to kill another one, rinse and repeat once more till the order started to arrive. Everything got better after that, right? NO First to arrive was the water. I guess I can't complaint much about it, it's water. But it just tasted a bit off, maybe they don't use a filter for the water they serve for drinking, maybe they do have one but it definitely needs changing. Whatever, it's water. Next. Next item to arrive is the coffee. I drink my coffee black with no sugar, and this coffee was just AWFUL. This coffee tasted like it has been left sitting unattended and unchanged for a while. It was so bad I decided to drink the crappy water instead. Go figure. Bet it can't get worse than this once I get my burger. I was wrong again. Flying high and mighty, along with the bugs, was red flag number 3. The burger arrived and it managed to somehow be both overcooked AND undercooked. Right as I received it, I noticed the burnt, charred edge and sides, took a bite and had to pick out some of the STILL raw pieces near the middle. Another closer inspection and their version of "Mac and cheese stuffed burger" is just pasta mixed with whatever type of cheese that was, roll it into a ball and place it inside low quality meat. This burger had no flavor. Every bite had to be dipped in blue cheese just to taste some sort of passable flavor. The fries were half cooked fine and the other half was hard and dark from being fried too long. Those were also lathered in salt and pepper to get a hint of flavor. Decided picking out the raw parts of the burger wasn't worth the time anymore so I stopped eating just so at least I can finish my coffee but boy was I wrong yet again, MY COFFEE NOW HAD A FREAKING FLYING BUG IN IT! I've never felt so violated at a restaurant before, and I've been to Applebee's. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It was so bad, I had to create an account just so I can warn others to avoid this place like the plague. I will say my server were fast, attentive, and overall the best part of the visit. She deserves to work at a better place. It's not the servers' fault their boss doesn't care about the business. I paid and decided to have a much better meal across the street at Wings Over. And just so this review doesn't seem fake (I'd have a hard time believing some of the details myself too), I took some pictures. Never again. 1 star out of 5 because it can't get a lower rating.

The coffee was awful, the waitress was sweet as pie, the home fries are amazing. It's a classic American diner and I vote YES

Yelp is asking me to answer the question - What went well ?…read more Is this place a secret gem? I'm not sure but we are so happy we found this place. I feel the need to leave this review here now just in case I forget to leave a actual proper long review. This is our third time, a humble looking joint so we come here always just expecting it's going to be " meh". But we keep coming back, collecting calories around our waist because everything is so good here! Service - always awesome. Everyone here looks like they work cohesively, everyone is smiling working hard . Coffees always refilled. Food- fantastic, always fresh, on point. This time I got an omelette with tomatoes and this is the first time I had an omelet where the tomatoes don't get mushy. Their hash browns are also amazing! ... while we like the shredded we LOVE the fried- like mini French fries. While all of their proteins are awesome - their turkey bacon deserves a special shout out because it often misses the mark at most places.. but not here . And then there are the little things - clean bathrooms, condiments on the table are clean and not sticky or gross !! Anyway, come here.

We had a group of 6 so had a 20 minute wait, not sure if they take reservations. If we had a smaller group I think we would have been sat quicker. Sunday mornings they only serve breakfast. Lots of great choices on the menu. Everyone enjoyed what they'd gotten. Prices were somewhat inexpensive and they had some interesting options I'd like to have in the future. Absolutely will come back.

Came a few weeks ago for my four year old son's birthday…read more When I got there my mom had already ordered the pulled pork baked potato. It looked really good and she mentioned her friend always got the buffalo chicken baked potato so I got that. Potato was a bit undercooked, basic buffalo sauce and a couple of frozen chicken fingers. It was topped with cheddar and sour cream - some blue cheese in there would have been nice. I wouldn't order this dish again. My son had the Mac and cheese which was good. Both my wife and daughter got the chicken penne vodka which was really really good. My son loved, even if he was a bit scared of, the cupcake with the sparkler. Would definitely come back, just ordering something different next time. Other people's burgers looked great.

To make matters worse, the food I received wasn't the same as what I had ordered previously, and there seemed to be confusion about who handled the original order. I feel like the subsequent orders I placed were not as good as the first order when the "particular staff" who took the order was not aware who was placing the order. I feel there is a racial undertone here but can't say it outright to the staff because of plausible deniability. The lack of attention to detail and the inattentive service made me feel overlooked as a customer. Customers deserve clear communication, basic respect, and accuracy with their orders. Unfortunately, my experience fell short in all these areas. I hope the management takes steps to improve because these issues directly affect trust and satisfaction. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. There are a lot of cafes in the area. Too bad though because this is the closest establishment to our place.

(as the kids say) It was crowded despite being early evening. The only available seats were at the bar area near the windows, which was fine because we were determined to experience the "new" place. We ordered the tuna tartare and lobstah rolls. The accompanying chips are homemade (slightly salty, but my taste buds are really close together). The host was attentive and gave us the royal treatment. We put this gem back on rotation and we are definitely returning!!!

The textured walls are gorgeous and give the space a style it was definitely missing before. As usual, the happy hour menu never disappoints. The Pomjito is a personal favorite.. refreshing, light, and not too sweet. We also got the oysters and mussels, both solid. The mussel sauce was unique compared to a typical tomato base, which we really appreciated. For my entrée, though, I was disappointed to see that the tuna salad I always order had completely changed. It used to be an arugula salad with Asian flavors and the tuna served on top. Now it It's a Niçoise salad, and the tuna is awkwardly placed on the side. Nothing about the tuna tasted like it did before. I'm usually a sucker for ahi tuna, but this was honestly one of the most disappointing ahi dishes I've ever had. It felt totally incohesive with the salad next to it. I really wish they didn't change the menu so frequently. Once I finally find an entrée I genuinely look forward to, it disappears. That said, we'll still be back for the great happy hour food and solid drinks. Now it's just a matter of finding a menu item I like... and hoping they keep it.
