I recently closed on a home that needed a roof replacement, so I contacted several companies for…read morequotes. ABC Roofing stood out right away -- their estimate was competitive, they came out quickly, and the young admin I initially spoke with was kind and professional. Based on that experience, they earned an easy 5 stars... at first. Unfortunately, things went downhill when I called back to schedule the work. The admin I originally spoke with was on break, and the person who answered was shockingly rude from the start. I explained I was calling to get on the schedule and mentioned I already had a check issued to the company for the roofing work as part of my home closing. Instead of clarifying their process, she immediately told me that's "not how they work" and that she could decide whether or not the company would take my business. What stood out most was that she said all of this without even asking for my name, address, or any project details. The conversation felt dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational. She laughed during the call, placed me on hold without explanation, and returned with the same condescending tone. Only after all of that did she finally ask for my information. I later learned she is not the owner, just someone who has worked there a long time -- which honestly makes the interaction more concerning. Long tenure should come with professionalism, not hostility toward potential customers. It's disappointing because my first impression of ABC Roofing was excellent. One negative interaction shouldn't outweigh a company's good work, but it did in this case. Customer service is part of the experience and I hope ownership takes this feedback seriously, because behavior like this can easily cost future business. Giving 1 star because I can't give 0. In the end, I chose another roofing company that charged more but treated me with professionalism and respect from start to finish. That difference in service made the decision easy.

It's a 12-year-old roof with 3-tab shingles, and I thought I would need a roof replacement because those shingles are no longer made, and I couldn't find them anywhere locally. David, the owner, came out, and instead of giving me an estimate for a new roof, he said he would try to find shingles and repair it. Within 24 hours, he located shingles and repaired the roof. The only replacement shingles he could get were brown, so he painted them after attaching them. If you look at this picture, you'll see that it's dang hard to see which shingles are the replacement ones. Comparing High Mountain to other roofing companies, two companies gave me email estimates for a new roof without even coming out, and a third company said they could repair it, but the estimate was $2,500 because they wanted to add a roofing treatment, which I considered unnecessary. My bill with High Mountain Roofing was less than $700. I am elated!

I wish I could give a -00000 stars…read more I would never recommend Elite Roofing for anything! I am a realtor, Elite Roofing inspected a property that I am selling. Elite came out and made some very inflammatory comments/assumptions in writing, spoke to the buyers (not buyers agent) of the home and scared them into demanding a new roof. They gave an estimate of $29,600.00. We scheduled 3 different roofing contractors for inspections, all three of them recommended repairs, not a roof replacement. Due to the issues with the sale of the house and timeline, my sellers must make a concession for the roof, if they want their house to sell and move on with their life. When I asked one of the contractors for an estimate to replace the roof, they called me back and asked me "Why I wanted to replace the roof, it is in need of minor repairs only" it is good for another 10 to 15 years. So far the bids have come back $5,000.00 under the estimate of Elite. I let everyone in my office know what happened. They will never receive my business of any type. In my future contracts I will specifically name them as a vendor I will not work with. Shame on them, they saw dollar signs, too bad, it was with the wrong agent!!

New Era was one of the few that got back to me and bid the job on short notice, and their price was reasonable. They showed up, did the job, and when I asked them to replace any damp insulation and charge me extra, they went above and beyond, even going to buy a new roll of insulation and charging me zero extra except the cost of the materials. If that wasn't enough, when they found out that I was replacing the roofing myself, they gave me a bunch of advice, dropped off some extra flashing and vent covers I was missing (again, free of charge), loaned me some tools, and even showed up and showed me some tricks to shingling valleys about midway through the job. Excellent service, can't recommend highly enough.

We are surprised with all the 5 star reviews on Yelp as this was not our experience at all. We had…read morethis company take a look at a small leak in a roof on one of our rentals in Double Diamond. They were prompt in coming out but the bid was exceptionally high. My husband and I were in Real Estate and Property Management for 30+ years in the area (He is a Retired Broker). We have had roofs fixed and replaced over the years. We had a roof replaced a few years back on a home for around $20K and they did a great job. This estimate was for almost $12K for a leak fix. Reading the repairs that they were going to do made no sense at all, it was over-kill. And then to get a note back after my complaint telling me the same thing listed on the estimate still made no sense. It was an easy request, "just fix the leak", no extra this or that unless you can prove it. We had three other estimates from top Roofers in Reno take a look at it. The lowest bid was $1,400 and the highest was $1,800. This is way off from the almost $12,000 I was quoted. We were looking for a fair deal and therefore, we will chose one of the other companies. One of them has done exceptional work in the past but they do get busy. That is the main reason I was getting more estimates since it is hard to wait when you have a leak. But if I save ten grand, I can wait. The picture shows proof of the estimate and the charges minus my personal information. I will let you decide if you should use this Roofer.
