Ok. I shop here several times a week. Today, for the first time, I needed to return a can of fuel I had purchased in error. I bought it yesterday. The cashier actually opened up the can to check the volume. I assured her that I had bought it the day before and had not used it. I also had the receipt. She actually called a supervisor to come and check it because, according to her, it "felt light." How humiliating when there were other customers there. I was so embarrassed! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Not enough staff and the ones that are there don't want to actually help you. I needed help locating an item that the website said they had in stock. I had looked and couldn't find it, I asked for help and the salesperson told me to go to the aisle I just came from, apparently she couldn't be bothered to actually help me. False advertising. The item I wanted to purchase came up at the register with a different price than what was marked and also was supposed to have a 50% discount applied that wasn't applied. Cashier did correct to give the discount but refused to give me the marked price so the higher, hidden price was discounted. Cashier became disrespectful when I was arguing my point and couldn't get a manager because they were "on a conference call." She told me my only options were to pay the higher price or leave without purchasing. I left without purchasing. Home Depot here I come... read more

What is going on with your USPS counter, ACE??? I decided to start a YELP account just to warn people. I was in line at the Ace --- USPS counter and the woman working behind the counter actually had the audacity to yell at a customer because he didn't have a mask on. I was literally, five people back and I heard her screaming. The customer was appalled and the boy standing there with him looked scared. The customer seemed actually very polite and had to coach her on the fact that not ANY covering over your face prevents germs... I would like to point out here that the woman herself was NOT wearing a mask. I have been coming to this Ace Hardware for many years, it's been convenient since I live in Forks. The same woman has worked behind the USPS counter for years. She has always been a bit unpleasant, but I have never EVER seen something so unprofessional and disgusting. For the record, she doesn't seem to work much anyway... Perhaps she expects to come to work to sit around, collect a paycheck, and go home. Or perhaps she needs to retire. The rude and condescending attitude went into eclipse today. I felt uncomfortable just witnessing it. She also didn't find it necessary to scream at the other people standing there without masks. I am absolutely appalled. I will never use this USPS or shop at this ACE Hardware ever again. It was convenient over the years, but no one deserves that kind of treatment. I wonder how the same woman would feel if she was treated so horribly by employees of another company... In the future, I will take my mail to the downtown Easton post office and do all of my shopping at Home Depot. read more

Ace Hardware store used to be such a nice local hardware store when Cantelmi owned it. They were so helpful. After it's been sold to Rocky's, it no longer feels like the same local store that I used to enjoy going to. I've heard the same from other people. You can walk around the store and not one associate ever asks you if you need help. Although it's so close, I would sooner go to the big box stores only because they are eager to help. I typically use this location due to the proximity to where I work. Very convenient to stop in over lunch. Not anymore. I went in to purchase a short length of PVC pipe. Nobody was around to assist so I asked the gal at the paint counter. She paged an older guy named John. Well when he finally showed up he just stared at me, then finally asked "what do you want?". Extremely rude. I told him I needed a piece of pipe cut and he said " well how was I supposed to know?". I comment about lousy service and he just walked away. Finally I got the gal who called him in the first place and he returned and cut my pipe. No other words, like thank you or anything. John should be fired. That is not how you treat and keep customers. Most of the current staff is rather rude too. I am done with this location! read more

I wanted to like this store. I had spoken with a nice woman manager upon a previous visit who had told me about all the good things she had planned for the store. She must've been new. But the incompetent management and bad attitude of the male manager changed my mind. I brought in three of my main gardening tools to be sharpened. Paid in advance. I was told to bring them in on a certain day. First time I brought them in I was told that the guy who did the sharpening had already been there to pickup for the week. OK then a week later went back to drop them off. Then a week after that to pickup and they were still sitting there, hadn't been picked up. Then a week later, same thing happened. The guy hadn't picked them up. He had apparently missed them. Now after most of my gardening is done, they are supposedly ready. I called the management to complain and got a lackluster response. Manager didn't want to be bothered. He said he would refund me the cost of sharpening one of the tools. No apologies. He even defended the incompetence of the guy who didn't pick them up... twice. This is why this store isn't doing well. The management is incompetent. Needless to say I will not be doing business with them again after this. read more

Stopped here for some hardware because it's close to my place. I try and not come here due to the terrible customer service in prior trips and high prices but I gave into laziness. I Needed a price check on some items and caught nothing but attitude from the older gentlemen who instead of assisting in finding the prices, just stood next me and argued while i got the prices myself. Save yourself the troubles and just go to Home Depot. You'll find what you need is cheaper and won't deal with a pompous staff. read more

Ive been going here for years. The staff is knowledgeable and helpfull. Its a convenient for us because its close to home. Its definitely not the the least expensive of the hardware stores. My only gripe with this store is the sometimes unfriendly attitude from certain register folks. The mostly knowledgeable staff and the convenient proximity to my home keeps me going back. read more

I originally wrote a review on December 22nd about trying unsuccessfully to exchange a floodlight that had set on fire after being purchased three weeks earlier. After being refused an exchange by the store I contacted Ace customer service and put in a complaint. I requested the corporate number and called them directly. The next day I received a call to come to the store and they gave me a replacement fixture, lightbulb and a small gift card. I was grateful that corporate responded graciously to my complaint, just wish the store had done so. read more

The "neighborhood" hardware store. I can stop by & find what I need when I need it in the middle of a project without having to drive across town & wander around looking for something with my patented "big box 100 yard stare" and lose half the afternoon. I've never had a problem finding someone to answer or find an answer to a question. Is the big box store cheaper on some things...maybe, but do you pay more at a coffee takeout place because it's easier than making a cup of coffee? Service has a value to me, and they have a mini post office inside & are dog friendly-what's not to like? read more

I like the store because it is close to home and the majority of the employees are very nice.. HD employees have issues dealing with female customers and these guys don't seem to care. However - I will never pay in cash again as the cashier gave me the wrong change (Shorted me)and argued with me about it. The person standing next to me saw what cash I gave her, but the cashier refused to do anything about it. Wouldn't even call the manager. By the time they checked her drawer, I am sure she pocketed the extra money and played the innocent victim. read more

This is a great hardware store, they have just about anything you could possibly want, any kind of fasteners with an extensive selection, paint, solvents, electrical supplies, screening, hand and power tools, garden supplies, laundry items, cleaners of all types. NOT HELPFUL AND NOT NICE! They say they are the helpful place but won't turn the lights on in the parking lot in the back of the store (at their south Bethlehem location). The Yoga loft rents from them and their customers must park in the back before 6pm but when classes lets out at 7:15pm it is dark in the back with no lights on. Not only is this a safety issue but it is just not nice!!!! Shame on you! read more

I went to pick up a stihl blower that I had reserved online from stilhs website to my local Ace. I drove 15 mins to pick it up and they did not have it in stock. the manager told me the system between stihl and ace is messed up and he had no control over it. He wanted to sell me the cheaper version which I did not want. I asked for the next model up for the price I had expected to pay originally and the manager told me he would not do that. he said they wouldn't make any money on it. So he would not take a $20 markdown for my trouble for coming out there expecting to purchase the one I had Reserved. I said it was not my fault that the system between Ace and Stihl is faulty. I told him I would never come back if they did not honor the price. He was perfectly ok with me not coming back. So over a $20 markdown, all Cantelmi hardware will now lose my business for life. The manager there should be more worried about keeping a customer happy, then telling me they wont make any money on an item. I went to Millers Ace in Northampton and they could not have been nicer or more helpful. Not only did they have the one I wanted, but she took the time to go over the machine with me and filled out the warranty card for me. Which Cantelmi did not do for me when I bought a string trimmer there. I will now drive the extra ten mins each way to go to Millers over Cantelmis. read more

Been there a number of times, they are helpful and nice to deal with. Pretty well stocked with various items. You might pay a bit more for some items, while others are realistically priced. Great location. read more
