We have lived in Garland 40 years; I live near the facility on Crist Road. I have both a storage unit and a trailer parked there. One night or early morning the trailer was stolen, and they were "ON IT". Called us in the middle of the night, showed my husband and GPD great video footage of how they broke into the gate and shows them driving off with the trailer. We were able to get the trailer back unharmed due to their quick action. When you call them, they answer the phone personally day or night. The prices are lower that the conglomerate chain on average as they save in the marketing area due to superior service, word of mouth keeps them full. They have a fair agreement plan, and do not try to lock you in a contract for a specific time frame. The business ethics alone are outstanding and again, I say this is a direct result of being a small business and the importance it has. I don't know this as fact, but I am sure that many times the owner has been approached to sell to a big national or even global company but chose not to. Tells you volumes right there; she cared more about her customers, her community, and city by not "selling out". Who knows how rich she could have been taking one of those deals. These are the OPITIME of people we want in our city. Virtue and common sense, turns out have real impact. Here are a few other reasons: Economic Impact Job creation: Local businesses are major employers. They often provide jobs to people in the community, helping reduce unemployment and boost local income. Money stays local: When you shop locally, more of your money stays in your community. Local business owners are more likely to spend their earnings locally, which keeps the economic cycle flowing. Better Customer Service Small businesses often offer more personalized, friendly service because they value their relationships with local customers. They tend to go the extra mile because their reputation in the community matters. Community Character and Identity Local businesses contribute to the unique charm and personality of a town or neighborhood. Support for Local Causes Local business owners are more likely to support schools, charities, and community events. They're often the sponsors behind local sports teams, festivals, or fundraising events. The bottom line is that locally owned businesses have a much more vested interest in the community on every level and will look out for the interest of the community over that of a national chain like Walgreens or Walmart I can't say enough good things about the personal customer service, easy terms, and fair pricing. Once on the property, there is more than enough space for you to maneuver your vehicle to load and/or unload your items due to the ample amount of property space. The staff is very friendly here and make you feel right at home. There are security cameras at the entrance and exits of the property and a secured keypad entry to access the property. The property has 24 hour access and in a very well lit and populated area, so no need to worry about being in an unsafe environment. I would definitely recommend this Self Storage property.

On my move date, my movers accidentally brought things to Irving that should have gone in storage. We took my things back to the storage, and my key broke in the lock. I was very tired from a long day of moving. Juan made the situation all good!! I knocked on the door for the property manager. Juan came to the door, I explained what happened and he did not hesitate in helping. The movers tried to remove the key, and were unsuccessful. Juan came to my storage and got on his knees, while pushing the key from the back to free it from the lock. It did not happen, so I had to return some items to the garage, where I moved from. Juan stayed and tried to free the key, but could not. He called me later in the evening to let me know he could not get the key removed, but he will notify his manager. The next call was Juan telling me a new lock was placed on my storage door, after they had to cut the original lock. I really appreciate how Juan handled my situation. When the movers arrived 20 minutes late, I was informed that the cost would be based on square footage instead, increasing the remaining $835 by over $1,000. The mover refused to give a final quote until everything was loaded and was rude and careless, damaging my apartment during the process. He held my belongings under duress, demanding an additional $850, claiming it was a "deal." After paying, I discovered he left items at my old apartment and poorly reassembled my dresser, using my tools to fix it. A week later, he called accusing me of lying about the apartment damage, despite my photographic evidence, and offered to "fix it" so I could drop the matter, also refusing to share his name or company address. The owner, Olvin, was also rude and unprofessional, dismissing my concerns with profanity. Their conduct throughout the move was unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful.

Phillip and Corbin were the movers and they did an exceptional job being careful from beginning to end. They padded everything down in the home and all the furniture was wrapped properly. I had few items needed to be reassembled which they did perfectly!! They were attentive to detail and careful to not ding or scratch any of furniture or the area of the home. As we're unpacking more, we're finding that many things were done poorly. For our front hall…read morecloset, for example, it's just one big box with all of our coats and shoes thrown together. No wrapping, no care shown to avoid dirty shoes rolling around inside of the coats. It's a friggin' mess. And I have a nice collection of silk ties; these were all balled up and thrown in a box. My wife also cut her hand on an exposed screw, because the wall fixtures we asked to be packed had the screws left in them. I hope she doesn't need a tetanus shot.
