I needed a hot water heater replaced. After calling & leaving messages at several plumbing companies & getting excuses of why they could not do the job in a timely manner, Rocket Plumbing called back in 20 minutes. I was given a quote on the phone & by email. The appointment was made for 9am the next day. Danny & Eric arrived on time, had the new unit & piping with them, put down a tarp to prevent floor damage and had it done in 2.5 hours. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, professional & an asset to the company. I will use them again when needed & highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. CORRECTION : I am located in Evanston Il, not San Francisco CA. as noted. read more

Sent them a request for a quote, got no reply after a week. Seems strange but probably it happened for the better...

Jake is really good! He explained well on how the leak happened and why it happened. After he fixed the problem with my shower valve, he also gave me advices on future precautions that I can take to identify leaking issue in the early stage. I will recommend Rocket Plumbing. read more

I needed the valve on my water line under the kitchen sink replaced because it was a saddle valve that is no longer code and was also corroded; I couldn't shut the water off and needed a new fridge installed. Messaged Rocket through Yelp and they got back to me within the hour. They gave me a quote online after I described the job and sent them pics, no need to send anyone out. The quote might have been a bit high at $409, but it was extremely easy and convenient and they had a $49 off coupon. The other six companies I contacted said they flat out couldn't/wouldn't do the job or it would take two weeks before someone could come by for a quote which would cost a dispatch fee. Dan came by and did a great job replacing the valve. It's been a few weeks and no leaks and the fridge was successfully installed. Rocket Plumbing is great and I would definitely use again. read more

I called Brian at 8pm on New year's day and he walked me through shutting off our building's water when the pipes burst. It was the coldest new year's day in forever and plumbers were essentially not taking calls. The next day he arrived by 10am and stayed until all the pipes were fixed. It's been a week and no problems. I'm not promising he will 100% be available at any hour of day. But he took my call at a high demand time when he didn't know if our fix would be a thaw, 1 little pipe to replace or tons (it was tons). He's followed up inquiring if everything is ok and really really knew what he was doing. The epitome of professional. Other contractors should learn from Brian. read more

Rocket Plumbing has fantastic service. As a first time customer, I needed a fix for a leaking pipe. They were positive over the phone, came out the same day, and Ryan quickly solved the issue and kindly gave us some tips to look out for in the future. read more

First time really dealing with a plumbing issue as a new homeowner. The Rocket Plumbing crew was very personable and efficient. They arrived on time, even a little early but you won't hear me complaining about that! They took the time to explain options and costs. Added bonus, they even cleaned up after their visit. Would definitely recommend Rocket Plumbing to others! read more

I've used Rocket Plumbing now twice for various plumbing concerns. The first, our dishwasher broke and we found out our hot water valve didn't shut off fully. It turns out our valves were so old they had rusted and needed to be cut out. Our plumber, Sam was nothing but honest and straightforward, he noticed the pipe was also leaking and didn't pressure me into replacing it but said I should keep an eye on it... well, when he grabbed the pipe he pushed a hole into it with his hand.. yep it needed to be replaced. Sam did a great job and also looked at all the other pipes in my condo. A few months later, we were switching to the single sink from a double sink and I called Rocket Plumbing, Sam came out again and did an awesome job re-arranging the configuration and installing an air gap. Everything was done professionally and I would not hesitate to call again for any plumbing needs! read more

I contacted Rocket Plumbing to get an idea of how to handle grease in the drain pipes of a 40 year old 12 unit condominium. Their suggestion was to hydro-jet, I never heard of this method? Brian the owner explained all the details came out gave me a quote and Rocket Plumbing went to work. They did an absolute through job removing what looked like blocks of grease, although it was nasty it was satisfying knowing that no major pipe replacement job had to be quoted and ran by the board and owners. I just have to say thanks to Brian and his team for working in an efficient and cost-effective way that saved our building so much money. I will use Rocket Plumbing in future. read more

Had a great experience with Dan. Quickly able to schedule appointment, communicated when nearby (within appointment window), free estimate, clear explanation of recommendations and pricing, quickly completed the repair work, respectful. He also provided a few handyman type recommendations unrelated to my repair. Would definitely use them again. read more

While their employees do wear N95 masks, they not wear gloves or shoe coverings as stated at the top of this page or as I was told on the phone when I asked. The plumber who came out to fix my sink pulled his mask down to talk to me. I promptly told him to put it back on. I am pleased with the work that they did and they were in and out within an hour, they did arrive 1/2 an hour past the 2-hour window because one of the guys needed to stop for lunch. (I was told this when they called to let me know they were going to be late. At least they called). I had to have my kitchen sink rodded (not sure if that's the proper term) and part of a pipe replaced. They charged me $644 for this! I nearly lost my cookies! Are you kidding me? And then the plumber left the mess behind for me to clean up. I still can't get over the sticker price! read more

Very polite and timely, they were very educational as well. Highly recommend and will be using them again soon!

It's hard to find a decent plumber in this city and after having multiple bad experiences with plumbing contractors over the last month I was doubtful these folks would change my tune. I was pleasantly surprised to deal with competent people who actually cared about fixing their customer's plumbing issues. I contacted Rocket Plumbing to deal with a clogged sink that occurred recently in our home. They sent out a really amazing crew who were professional and thorough in clearing the drain. The last plumber we used to clear the sink didn't really get the drain as clear as they could have and took off as soon as things appeared to work, but these guys took their time to make sure everything was good and proper and even ended up routing the drain twice once they noticed that the clog wasn't completely cleared up. They were incredibly careful with all of the cabinets and worked super smoothly! I'll be using this company in the future for all of our plumbing services. read more

I am so thankful I called Rocket Plumbing for a second opinion. The first plumber I called said that he was unable to cam my sewer and that it would cost $8,500- $10,000 just to be able to get a camera in and see if anything was wrong. My realtor suggested I call Rocket Plumber for a second opinion. They had better technology and better employees than the first company. The guys who came out (Mike and Tyler) did an awesome job. With a little creativity, they discovered that the pipe leading in to my sewer was not broken, it was just at an odd angle because it was an old pipe. They found that there was a break in the line by the street. Rocket Plumbing set up a PDP inspection and got the City out here in about a week to confirm that the sewer needed to be repaired (and that the City would pay for the repair). I was glad I did not have to do that paperwork or negotiate with City inspectors myself. I am so glad I called Rocket Plumbing! Calling them saved me at least $8500. I am so glad I called them and will be calling them for all my future plumbing and sewer needs. Thank you Mike and Tyler and thank you Rocket Plumbing! read more

Mike and Adrian came to the rescue. We had 8 different plumbers come over the weekend that were unable to fix our back up. They were respectful, attentive, and detail oriented. They narrowed down the problem quickly and kept us informed right away. Would use them 10/10. read more

So I have used Rocket Plumber a few times over the last few years now. The first couple of times everything was great (needed to replace my sump and ejector pumps at separate times). Was happy with the service. Hence the 2 stars vs 1 star. The last two times have left me looking elsewhere. The first of these was last year, we needed to use their emergency services for a clogged pipe that was backing up into our sinks, causing our sump to almost fill. We agreed to the emergency cost since it was evening. That's fine, we knew it was coming. But the guy who came out quite rude and made it feel like we were inconveniencing him for coming out in the evening. I chalked it up to a bad day. The final time was this week. Our water heater went out over the weekend, so I called first thing Monday morning to get an appointment (had to leave a message on a voice mail box that was non-descript and didn't say anything about Rocket Plumbing, so wasn't sure if anyone would even respond). But an hour later, someone called and I walked them through the issue. She requested I take pics of the heater and email it over so they can review and give an estimate/time). By the end of the day, I had not heard back, so I emailed again to check in. Still no response to this day (Wednesday). In the meantime, I called another company that Monday evening who came out within 25 minutes, gave an estimate and had the water heater replaced the next day. After this last incident, I'm done with Rocket. It had nothing to do with cost (I didn't even get other estimates). Its a service issue and I won't recommend them after this point. read more

My husband and I used Rocket Plumbing for an issue we were having with our shower. The tech was super helpful trying to point us in the right direction in terms of what pieces to get from the manufacturer. I would definitely use them again. read more

I had a tenant with a leaky wax toilet ring. I called Rocket Plumbing at 9:05am, and my new toilet (I could have just replaced the wax ring, but wanted a newer water-efficient model) was installed by 1:30pm. ROCKET PLUMBING is the BEST! SAM and Ben did an absolutely splendid job completing a new hot water heater installation. Great job. Great price. Great communication. Mike really took great care of our cracked sewer line with a hydro-jet cleaning and stent liner repair. Price was 1/6 of what a competitor quoted; who wanted to bust up the concrete foundation. Rocket's technology made than unnecessary read more

I had an issue with my kitchen sink backing up with food which clearly was not from my unit. I had one plumbing company come in and rod it out and when it didn't work too well they quit and left. We never heard from them again. I called Rocket Plumbing after that and they also rodded out my sink line. That initially worked but the kitchen sink starting backing up again a couple of days later. I called Brian (the owner) and he said that maybe the rodding didn't work too well and we needed to hydro jet the sink line. I called a couple of other companies to compare Brian's quote for the hydro jetting and he was in the ballpark with the others so I decided to go back to him for the job. He came in with his nephew and the hydro jetting machine and they were here hydro jetting for a couple of hours (we decided to just go ahead and hydro jet 3 other lines in our building as well). Brian and his nephew were great! Unfortunately a couple of days later the kitchen sink starting backing up again so I called back Brian. He found it odd so he suggested we camera the line to see what was going on. Brian doesn't own the camera equipment so he was very honest with me about how much it was going to cost him to rent the equipment and how much he would charge for labor. He came in a couple of days later, video recorded the line and he found what the problem was, the building sink line was back pitched so everything from the units above me was coming down, hitting the back pitch and them coming back up in my kitchen sink. Brian sent me the recorded video and everything which was pretty cool. So then Brian said we had to go to my basement, open up the ceiling and fix the buildings back pitched sink line. His quote for this job was fairly high but seeing how great a job he had done with everything else and that he knew exactly where the issue was, I decided to go with him. He said it would take two of his men 8 hours to complete the job. The guys came in for the job, it took both of them 5.5 hours and he adjusted the quote down for me based on the fact it took them less. Needless to say, the problem is now completely gone and we are extremely happy to not have to deal with it any more. Brian is a great professional and I still text him for other stuff to this day. Thanks again Brian! read more

I have relied on Rocket Plumbing for both water and gas pipe repairs, (I live in a very old house) and each time they are professional, courteous, and honest. And whenever I don't rely on Rocket Plumbing, I end up wishing I had. Rocket plumbing is very expensive. There website claims it is $35 for a visit but expect to pay $130 if they do anything since a "diagnostic" has occurred. They couldn't fix my toilet but then offered to sell me a very pricey $400 replacement with $400 for the labor for a grand total of $800 whereas I could buy a new toilet and get it installed from the local big box home improvement store for around half that. If you go with them do yourself a favor and don't buy anything immediately from them. If you call another shop and get a second quote you are most likely going to save a bunch of money. Edit: The plumber himself was very nice and professional no complaints at all there, just the business model itself is very bad. As with most of these things the plumber does quality work, just not worth the price in my opinion. Edit 2: Raising a star because the owner, Brian, reached out to me an I always appreciate that. I still stand by my original review. They will do quality work, but the cost will probably be a bit higher than you are expecting for the diagnostic. And I absolutely would not recommend accepting their first replacement offer (if you need to replace/not fix) and shop around. A second quote or a trip to the big box home repair store could save you a couple hundred dollars. read more

Rocket Plumbing is the best. They are the only plumber we use. They installed a new hot water heater in our home. They installed a new ice machine and they helped clear a clogged drain line. Pretty quick review. I called about a pretty simple plumbing issue. They asked for a zip code and I told them 60612. The woman on the other end said they do not service that area. Pretty confusing considering on the yelp site it says "Serving Chicago and surrounding areas". 60612 is definitely Chicago. Maybe Yelp hasn't been updated. Therefore I go to the website and also see 60612 in the service area. Not sure why this area isn't being served but please be clearer online as your web presence is what will draw many customers. Update: Brian reached out to me to apologize for the mishap. I can always appreciate great customer service so I think it's fair to modify my original rating. read more

Sam with Rocket Plumbing has helped me out on several occasions now and I won't call anyone else. Sam is very personable and knows everything there is to know about plumbing. He's helped me install a new vanity & sink in my second bathroom which looks/works fantastic. He also helped bring another sink up-to-code after another company used plastic parts to save a buck. When my kitchen faucet started leaking this week, I immediately called Rocket and Sam got right out to see me. He gave me all of the options for fixing the faucet leak and ultimately recommended the option that would save me money, but was just as good of a fix for my problem. I appreciated the honesty and Rocket Plumbing will do what's best for the customer. They aren't just out to make money off of you. They will fix your plumbing issues ASAP and are very knowledgeable. I used them once before and I liked them. However, this company has become a little pricey. I just replaced a bathroom faucet at work for $450. The labor cost is $260 for 1 hour of work. Two days later, I need to replace a faucet at home. I used an Evanston company. The cost is only $253. I voiced my concern and the company's owner called me to resolve the issue. Price was adjusted down. So, I think this company does care a lot about what it does. read more

I've had 2 plumbing experiences with Rocket Plumbing. The first one was good, the second one was not. The first time I called Rocket Plumbing, it was due to a garbage disposal that would not work. The plumber arrived on time, was polite, replaced my garbage disposal and was on his way. It was a little expensive but his efficiency and friendliness won me over. I called Rocket Plumbing a second time a few months later due to a tankless toilet that would not stop flushing. The plumber was again prompt and friendly, fixed the problem in literally 5 minutes by replacing a defective diaphragm. The total charge was $230. (I later googled the part number. It is sold at Home Depot for $19.99). Seems a little overpriced to me for 5 minutes of work. After replacing the diaphragm, the toilet was making a strange groaning noise after flushing. The plumber stated the noise would "eventually go away". Five days later, the groaning had gotten so loud that my neighbors were complaining! I called Rocket back and was told they would send the plumber back out to take a look. The same plumber arrived on time but this time had a bit of an attitude. He stated that I "claim the toilet never made this noise before but he doesn't know that", blatantly accusing me of lying. He replaced the part again and the toilet miraculously stopped groaning! He left and I thought the toilet debacle was over. Two days later, the toilet starts to groan again. This time, I called Sloan (the manufacturer of the toilet and of the replacement part used by Rocket Plumbing). Sloan stated the diaphragm Rocket used was the "low end version" and the moaning is common in older toilets when using the "low end diaphragm". Sloan recommended a slightly more expensive version of said diaphragm which should fix the groaning problem. Thankfully, I paid attention when the plumber was here and I will order the new diaphragm myself and replace it myself, thus fixing the problem created by Rocket Plumbing. What a headache! read more

Rocket came out for an estimate for a sink install with garbage disposal. I was quoted a price over the phone and when they arrived I got an estimate for 3 times the cost. I understand that things change when they arrive on site but wow. They are on time and have a great phone receptionist but their pricing is crazy. I had them come out a year ago to look at my washing machine connection and they wanted to charge me $150 to hook up a hose I was able to do in 2 min. Their pricing is something I just cant justify for no matter how prompt and professional you are. Best of luck. read more

I had a leak spring up on a Friday morning in my water purifier so called the plumber I had been using. It went to voicemail - waited an hour - called again - no response - so called Rocket Plumbing. A human answered the phone and said he could have someone out in a few hours. Wow! Mark came by right on time - was very knowledgable about water purifiers - and, despite a suboptimal fitting, engineered a solution that took care of the issue. Great service and a super nice guy to boot. Thanks Rocket and Mark. Highly recommended! read more
