Strangely enough, my journey to this Rocket Fizz (Lancaster, CA) started because I was trying to be a good husband. A few months ago, my family and I were out on one of our marathon grocery-shopping excursions, and I overheard my wife tell our oldest that she had an unusual craving for a candy she once had as a little girl. While trying to be thoughtful, which doesn't happen as often as it should, I set out to buy some of that candy for my wife. It couldn't take but a few minutes, right? Needless to say I looked all over the place, over a period of several days, and nobody sold it. But recently a friend told me about an unusual store that sells unique candy, soda and other hard-to-find items. I found this business on Yelp and I was on my way here. Upon entering this Rocket Fizz, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman, the store owner. I made a short tour around the store, not finding my desired candy, and then the owner kindly asked if he could be of assistance. After telling him the candy that I was looking for he said that he would have a shipment coming later that day, with this candy included. Upon entering this store the following day, I was greeted by different store employees, the owner's sons. It turns out that this is a family-owned business. I should have known, because the young men helping me were just as friendly and professional as their father, each with a sincere smile and a desire to be helpful, which seems rather rare nowadays. They quickly directed me to my desired item. I left the store extremely pleased with my find, along with the service provided. It's very unusual to find someone that is willing to go out of their way for their customers, especially for a small purchase like mine. I'll be back. Two of the three candies I bought there yesterday were so hard and stale I could not physically eat them. The Big Cherry had no expiration date, and the Chick-O-Stick's expiration (which I should have checked) was 10/2/2022. The third candy was Necco wafers, which will survive a nuclear attack. I saw no prices on anything, and my receipt was not itemized, so I don't know what I paid for what. I don't like stores that don't post prices clearly. I feel like a candy store should be a fun and inviting environment. We went in the middle of the day on a weekday. It was kinda dingy looking with loud music in another language (not English) not that the language matters it just isn't something that kids can understand to make it enjoyable and exciting. The man who I am assuming is the own was frustrated when we didn't purchase any freeze dried candy even though I did make a purchase of another product. However, that product was stale and expired in 2019. I should have looked at that before purchasing so that is kind of my fault. read more

Rude rude rude owner! I went there to get candy for my sibling and it was three pieces of taffy for $1, I go to the front ready to pay and pull out my card and he puts his hand over the sensor and loudly exclaims "CASH CASH CASH". I explained to him I didn't have cash but the sensor was working and he said okay and snatched the candy! I wasn't going to take something I can't afford first of all, and second of all he could've been kinder to say or even put up a sign saying they only accept cash at the facility. Worst customer service I have EVER! We walked in and my Niece ( who is 24 years old) picked up an item unsure what it was and the pieces fell to the floor. The man was watching us the whole time and ran over and accused her of braking it and insisted we pay for it . It was already broken he was so rude we paid for it because my nephew is beyond Honest and bought nothing else!!! Not sure how they stay open unless this is a sales tactic. I pretty sure the old dude behind the counter was smoking a cigarette before we walked in cause it smelled like a casino in there. Most of the merchandise that used to be unique has been replaced by the generic soda brands with just 'bacon soda' and 'ranch soda' type bottles of soda. Music was super loud which just added to the headache from the thick smell of cigarette smoke. Pretty upsetting to see children waving their hands in their faces while shopping for candy to avoid the smoke. read more

We were followed around as if we were going to steal, no greetings at all walking into the store or even asked if we needed help. The store worker was too busy watching a movie and looking irritated that there were people there. I did not like AT ALL that there were no prices anywhere. One candy I was going to get had an expiration on August 2021!! It looked like they do not even clean as there was dust all over the soda bottles. I just don't know how they stay in business. They literally walk behind you as you look around, making us feel uncomfortable. Also I didn't realize the candy was expired until I got home. Someone should do something about it. read more

My grandsons love to come here they know they can pick one thing and rocket fizz has just about everything. From toys to magnets to candies to soda. The owner kept staring at my family and I every 5 seconds with a mad face as if we were going to steal something . I bought 3 things and he charged us $20. I havent been to Rocket Fizz in about a year but I stopped by today while I was in the area. I dont know when I'll be going by again because today was not a good experience. First there are zero mask compliance signs, zero social distancing place mats and none of the candies in the store are covered. What makes all of that even more concerning is that the owner was walking around the store with no mask, burping loudly and following the customers around the store. I absolutely love this place, but the employee makes my experience at rocket fizz unfavorable. I would be looking at sodas , taking my sweet time in order to make sure i dont miss anything i would like, and he would grab a soda and say its good and put it in my basket. Im a very shy person so its hard to tell him to not do so. Everytime i come around with a group of friends or family, he would ONLY follow ME. I always feel so so so uncomfortable when i shop here.
