I'm from out of town but my sister lives down the street from here, so I stop by every time I visit. This shop is really cool. There's a nostalgia feeling every time I'm in here. There's a whole bunch of snacks, candies, drinks, etc from all over different places. They have a lot of vintage stuff such as Pez, Signs, Lunch Boxes, etc. Speaking of which, I make it a tradition to buy a lunch box every time I'm in town. It's also become a collectable hobby of mine. The customer service is great & I haven't had any problems the several times I've been here. The young girl at the cashiers counter with glasses has always been nice helping me find a certain candy or help me get a lunch box off the wall. Look forward to coming back next time I'm in town & picking up another lunch box for the collection! read more

Neato candy and soda shop. Cool tin signs as well. Even if you don't buy anything it's a good store to gander and peruse. Lots of soda and candy options including very different types of them (I saw the infamous Kit Kat Green Tea candy here). read more

They are liars. They say they cant return a candy that I purchased 15 mins ago in the same condition saying that all purchases are final. This is an utter lie. The website says you can return for 14 days if its in the same condition. Also, they are stealing you. They sell the sponge bob candy for 7.99 dollars while the price of the triple sized bag is 4.99. Absolute disgrace. Liars & thieves read more

This place is ridiculously priced. Instead of paying one for $8.99, you can buy a 12-pack of the Rap Snacks Ramen Noodles for $22 on Amazon. The Ocean Bomb Sailor Moon sodas are $2.99 at World Market and they're $5.99 here. These are just a couple examples but everything sold here is a complete rip off. read more

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ..... sugar high by just walking through the doors!!! SUGAR, CANDY, SODA, FUN AND Nostalgia!!! Everywhere you look there is something to make you smile, laugh or get a twinge of salivation! Sodas are crazy! There has got to be dozens of types of root beer... but then there are other sodas too, how about these zany flavors: Ranch Dressing, Bacon, Sweet Corn, Bubble Gum, Buffalo Wing, Pumpkin Pie, PB&J... just to name a few!! Your tastebuds could be so damn confused or threatened.... or happy!? There are cookies, chocolates, Asian treats, Mexican treats, European treats, beer flavored jelly beans found in an aluminum can, taffy (sooo many flavors of taffy!!), Pez dispensers, funny tins, romantic gifts, naughty surprises, tin signs, ok ok, I'm out of breath just trying to remember everything. Sour candies, sweet candies, melty candies, crunchy candies, disgusting candies, heavenly candies, salty goods, sugar coated, gooey, gross, fun, weird, unique, trademarked, boxed, packaged, nuts, gum, wax bottles, candy cigarettes, gum cigars.... pant, pant. You get the idea now, right? Anyway, what a completely fun store to lose yourself in! I think the only downside was that I wanted to buy one of everything but it is pretty darn pricy and that turned me off (which is probably a good thing). But when you find that something (or some THINGS special) you know you've come to the right place. GREAT PLACE FOR STOCKING STUFFERS or any holiday gift giving, basket filling, heart-shaped box ideas or party favors. Ok, I'm worn out. CHEERS, Rocket Fizz, you are some fun stuff! read more

Chocolate chocolate and more candy is what you will find here along with some bubbly things to wash it all down with for that balanced sugar diet you all love and crave! The selection of candy and sodas here is super awesome as they have many varieties that you just don't find many places now a days! They had plenty of my favorite Take 5 bars as well as those unique Kit Kat's that are hard to find seriously it was a bad idea for me to come here because I ended up buying more candy that I really needed and yeah I'm not going to give it out for Halloween it's all mine but you can have some too if you ask nicely! They sell Faygo here! Faygo seriously one of my favorite sodas ever that is always delicious and just sweet and amazing every time I get one! Overall they have candy and soda's how can you go wrong in a store like this just that just has too much good stuff! read more

I was browsing all the stores at the Spectrum searching for my cousin's birthday present. When I saw Rocket FIzz, I knew there would be something that I can add into my cousin's gift-package. There was a variety of imported snacks and candies (from Asia and Europe). There was posters of comics and other witty sayings as well. Most importantly, there seems to be every bottle of soda pop brand that still exists. This place basically has everything an adult's inner child would want, and it comes at a high price. Knowing my cousin LOVEs cream soda. I bought a 6-pack of assorted cream sodas for him as a part of his birthday gift. When he saw it, he was so excited!! We ended up doing a cream soda TASTING!! It was so fun!! We judged it on taste, scent, and amount of carbonation... Here's how we rank it: 1. Virgil's Cream Soda: My cousin said it's better than "sexy time." haha... The scent was luring and the taste was even better. This leaves you wanting more. 2. Judge Wapner's Cream Soda: This was a close second. Great scent and great taste and I still want more.. just not as badly. 3. Death Valley Cream Soda: Great taste but the scent wasn't as mesmerizing. 4. IBC: I felt like the flavors weren't as strong in this one. 5. Sioux City Cream Soda: I don't recall... 6. Dr Brown's Cream Soda: We did not like the taste and there was a weird after taste drinking this one... Needless to say, my cousin loved his gift and it was fun to do a cream soda tasting. I will definitely be back for their pricey goods that I can't get elsewhere. However I would rather go to the asian supermarket for asian snacks cause it's really overpriced here :) read more

Plop Plop Fizz Fizz... Candy it is! Soda Pop and Candy and Everything Dandy! Products range from insect candy to Buckets of Big League Chew. I love that you can buy individual candies and not go overboard with gobs of candy. Nostalgia at it;s absolute finest. After stopping at the Irivine Spectrum yesterday to cash in some Dave & Busters tickets I knew it was the perfect opportunity to finally check this place out. I made my way over and was immediately taken aback by the sheer wonderment of the candy and old fashioned soda's within. I was immediately greeted by the lady working the front counter and she even gave me a quick run through of the store and it's layout. She said to let her know if I had any questions and then made her way back around to the register to check out some customers. I walked aimlessly around for about 10 minutes before discovering the root beer section. I was totally stoked to see both Virgil's and Dad's varieties of root beer and quickly snatched up a Dad's for the road. After seeing several reviews from different people who absolutely love the Black Cherry Soda (as do I), I quickly found this section as well. I snatched up a Diet Dr. Browns Black Cherry and a Olde Brooklyn Raspberry Soda (for my wife) and hit the register. The total was around $7 bucks for the three sodas which wasn't too bad considering I cannot find these too many other places. The decor using old posters and cardboard stand ups is quite unique and really gives the place that old school, childlike flare that I love. All walls are lined from end to end and top to bottom with candy and soda's, they have so many options to choose from it would take years to get through them all and I might take up the task. I am intrigued by the bacon flavored soda as well as the hot wing variety but decided to forego them on this first trip. I can see myself spending a lot of money in here on both sodas as well as their extensive selection of candy variations not found other places (green tea or passion fruit Kit-Kat anyone?) I will be back soon to try some more exciting varieties for sure. read more

Even though I was disappointed when I came here, I still like this store (3.5 stars). Rocket Fizz has lots and lots of candy. European candy, strange candy, retro candy, Japanese candy and regular candy that you'd find anywhere. Plus a ton of taffy. They also have a lot of odd-brand soda pop, many with very unique flavors (cookie dough soda?!). There are a few gag gifts and retro style signs for sale too. My disappointment was in the limited amount of nostalgic candy. There wasn't as much as I anticipated and they didn't have much inventory of some of the ones I really wanted (only 2 tubes of Flicks! only a couple Pez dispenser choices!). I also found a lot of the pricing to be on the steep side...but I suppose leasing at the Irvine Spectrum isn't cheap. Still, this place brought a smile to my face and I'm glad it's in the area so I can maintain my supply of Fizzies, Idaho Spuds and pop rocks. read more

This place has a large selection but everything is absolutely overpriced. A single candy bar is over $5. A pack of Oreos is over $12. I know inflation is a thing but this is beyond ridiculous. Don't shop here for your favorite candy that's stale because one look at the prices, you'll realize quickly why no customers are buying and only coming here to look and then walk out. read more

This place is horrible. The prices are INSANE. The workers are the rudest most entitled people I've ever met and don't know how to help people out or communicate. This store has the worst customer service the cash register girls that work here are the worst!! I had a bad experience yesterday what a cashier her name is Foujan . Purchased a candy bar labeled $1.89, was charged $2.49. Walked back in seconds later, girl at register told me that the sticker price was wrong, that they go off of what's on the system. I asked for the difference back ( it's the principle and more importantly theft), and she told me no. I usually buy candy and sodas in places like these in bulk and normally don't look at receipts, but just giving you guys a heads up, double check receipts. read more

Employees here are NOT the friendliest. One employee (older lady who I believe is owner) clearly saw ne struggling with my kid to find something and didn't offer to help until I got loud to ask for assistance. The markup on the candy (yes, I know the cost of goods) is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Recommendation - teach your employees about customer service and work to make your prices more reasonable. read more

They had a nice variety of random drinks to try, I got butterscotch and it turned out really good

Real short one, charged me twice for a $7 and change purchase. Tried blaming me first, than when I show proof of purchase on my phone, changes are instant when a pin is entered, they blamed their machine. Owner looked like he was mad at me for paying him twice and complaining. Guess I have to call me bank and file a claim to get money back. (Update) Got a message from the manager, the day I reviewed. Saying they called the credit card company and refunded me. They didn't. Saw my statement, didn't credit me back. I know, it was only $7 bucks, but it was $7 additional for a pack of gum and a sofa. read more

Unfortunately they assume that people steal and perhaps that's from experience or perhaps it was based upon how my teen daughter and her friends were dressed?? They also then searched their bags. They were quite aggressive apparently and of course they found nothing. read more

This is a child's dream store. Also adults may experience some nostalgia from seeing some of the candy they grew up with all in one place. They have a variety of candy, soda, toys, and gag gifts to purchase. The items are more on the pricey side. The store is full of fun and entertainment, which any kid would enjoy. If you like jelly beans and want to try something different they have a whole section of interesting flavors such as beer, champagne, and tabasco. For soda they have many different kinds with funny names and flavors like bacon soda. Im a huge fan of pumpkin and with the fall season here I decided to try the pumpkin soda. The worst customer service experience in my whole life. The manager (Homa) was watching me maneuver the entire time I was browsing the candy, which made me extremely uncomfortable. I wasn't doing anything out of the sorts or suspicious. When I picked my items, the rude manager looked at me in a DISGUSTING manner and accused me of stealing. I was appalled and immediately showed her my bag to prove that I'm not a thief, her cocky and rude attitude left me so angry.
