I recently discovered ROCKET BAR and let me tell ya I had a BLAST !! Rocket Bar is a super cute nostalgic pool hall with small arcade center! I loved the entrance of the bar to be honest it's the reason I really came to check the place out I just LOVED the Robot art ! I definitely think adding more art would just keep people coming! Everyone was welcoming and I had a great time with friends.

First time here and what a time we had! They honor happy hour as soon as they open and there are quite a few options for HH. We sat at the bar and were served by Jason (great attitude and service!). They have a 90's like setup with little elements of space/rockets throughout. There's also a bunch of games; pool, darts, skeeball and a Photo Booth. We'll definitely be back to indulge in some games as well.

What a find! We came to this place with no expectations but to get a drink or two and possibly move on to the next bar but ended up staying put until it was time call it a night. We weren't expecting too much action here since it we were stopping by this random dive bar in the middle of the week and a bit late but this place got pretty packed as the night went on. Despite the crowd, the bartender was friendly and pretty quick to get us our drinks. Not only were the bartenders great but the crowd here was just as awesome. Seriously a great place to get some drinks, socialize and meet some new friends. There are a lot of things to do here from video games, darts to billiards. The billoards tables are rented by the hour so there is a potential of waiting for table to open up but luckily we were able to get on wothout having to wait too long. It would be cool if one of the tables was pay to play instead of pay by the hour. Either way, still a great place as there is plenty to do while you wait. We'll definitely make this a go to spot when we come back and highly recommend stopping by.

So, if you're into pool and old school games...this is the place to be in DC! From the start, I grabbed a cheap ole drank and it was bomb! The service was great and the ambiance was cool! We was vibing shall I say! I learned how to play pool and although we didn't win, it was a blast! I also took the metro which I hadn't done in about 10 years but the experience was awesome! Thanks to the group of friends I was with and the great amount of fun we had together! Until next time..like, share and follow please! ~Cheers!

Hole in the wall that is a gem! I'm a fan and will definitely be back! $6 rails?!?!?! Games?!?! Yes please! We had so much fun! Service was great. Drink were cheap and good! The game cards are a throwback - look like the old school Nintendo. Played some pinball and basketball... good fun! Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun bar!

Uuum not really my style. I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll revisit this review later to add something, but it'd a basement with pool tables and other games that no one was playing. People were just huddled in groups. Music was decent. They have a music machine that I guess you pay to play the songs you want. Idk...I feel like they got a liquor license and just opened up saying "we will make money off of pouring liquor" and that's it. I highly doubt I'll go back, but like I said...it's not "my style." Other people may absolutely love that atmosphere. Just not for me.

So rocket bar is directly across from the Capital One Arena. Ladies, please be mindful of your shoes because it is a steep walk down to the basement level where the entrance of the bar is. Thankfully, the boots I had on were good enough for the walk down. Once we got inside, the establishment was quite large. It was extremely packed. We arrived around 10:30 PM. People were literally everywhere. They do have multiple bars throughout which I'm sure helps with the demand. We were coming to the bar to play pool after dinner, however, the staff member running the pool area told us it would probably be a very long wait. We added our name to the list, nonetheless, and wait to find a place for us to sit. An important thing to note is that they do not serve food. I think you are able to bring in your own food, we did not do that since we went to dinner before coming to the bar. There are a lot of pool tables and some arcade games to keep you busy. I will say that the patrons are a very young crowd. I definitely will say all of them were in their 20s. So if you're looking for a spot to play pool with a bit more of a mature crowd, this isn't it. We did find our way to a bar in the back and grabbed two seats at the bar to have drinks. The bartender was extremely nice and attentive. He made me a green apple martini made with Crown apple which was amazing. I had a few of those before we left. We ended up staying for about an hour because due to the number of patrons, we would never get called to play pool. I don't believe there is a time limit for the pool tables which add to the length of the waitlist. So we ended up leaving.

Imagine my surprise when I walked in and realized there was no pizza in sight, just pool tables, dart boards, and a solid basement bar scene. It is literally in a basement, and it feels like the kind of place you would go to after being snowed in all day. If this were Chicago, it would be the perfect neighborhood bar to duck into after a winter storm. It has that cozy, slightly gritty, someone's-house-basement energy where you go to hang out, not to party. The service was fine, nothing standout, and the drinks are about what you would expect for a neighborhood bar. Not fancy, not bad, just dependable. Overall, Atomic is one of those chill spots that feels good when you want to unwind, shoot a few games of pool, and not think too hard about the world outside.

I chose to check this place out for happy hour because their deals listed on their website seemed great. Unfortunately, none of these prices were accurate and everything was substantially more expensive. There was also a minimum ($10 or $20 I think?) for credit cards, which was inconvenient. The service was ok--there was only one bartender and we were 2 out of a total of 4 people in the place, so it would have been insane if our service was slow. Unfortunately, the glassware I got seemed to still have soap residue, which I could both see with my naked eye and clearly taste in the beer. Lastly, the decor just makes no sense. It's a mix between frat basement and mafia grotto. We went near the holiday season and someone had just taped colored plastic wrap to the wall haphazardly. Overall, I may have gone back even in spite of all of this if the deals listed online were genuine. However, at this point I will not be going back to Recessions anytime soon.

Toro does not have any food options so definitely make a plan to eat before or after you stop by (there are plenty of solid food options on the same block). This appears to be a Puerto Rican bar - there are flags all over the place, the DJ was blasting Bad Bunny throughout the day, and each margarita came with a little gummy coqui frog (If you've been to Puerto Rico, you know). The vibe is fun, youthful, and high energy. Definitely stop by if you're looking for a vibrant, electric spot. There is also a pool table in the back of the bar which offer another activity that is great for groups. The sound system wasn't working, there was no sound engineer on site, and somehow they booked a band without even having microphones set up or ready to go. Just bartenders there trying to figure things out on the fly. The band, Paulie Boy Blues and Scottie Blue, showed up ready to perform and got completely let down. You could see the frustration and disappointment. These guys deserved way better than what this venue gave them. On top of that, the place felt unsafe. I saw exposed fan blades with no protective grates, broken and loose stairs, and open electrical junction boxes. That's not just sloppy, that's dangerous. And unbelievably, there wasn't even water available. I couldn't get a glass of water. Basic hospitality wasn't there. If you're going to host live music, at a minimum have a functioning sound system, proper setup, and a safe environment. This felt amateur and unprepared across the board.
