Our home renovation…read morehad turned into a nightmare -- our previous contractor left our house completely gutted, uninhabitable, and in total disarray. We had lost money, time, and hope. Then, out of nowhere, we came across Chris, and from the very first conversation, he showed compassion, honesty, and genuine care. He couldn't believe what had happened to us and made it his mission to help us get our home and our peace of mind back. Chris and his crew started immediately and went above and beyond in every possible way. Since we were living in the home during construction, he built us a makeshift kitchen, secured areas without windows, and made sure we were comfortable and safe while the remodel was underway. His workmanship and attention to detail were outstanding -- he not only fulfilled our plans but added thoughtful extras, like a beautiful half bath we hadn't even imagined could fit. He stayed within our budget, communicated clearly, and treated our home as if it were his own. Beyond his skill as a contractor, Chris is an exceptional interior designer. His vision and creativity transformed our space into something truly stunning. His team was professional, respectful, and a pleasure to have around every day. After such a terrible experience before, finding Chris felt like a miracle. We can't recommend him and his company highly enough -- they didn't just rebuild our house, they restored our trust and made it a home again.

I found Optivest Build through Yelp's project system and one thing that stood out right away was…read moreMoe, the owner, and his responsiveness. Out of the companies that responded through Yelp, he came across as one of the most professional and serious about understanding the project rather than simply giving a quick estimate. He replied quickly to my questions through Yelp and was able to come out in a very reasonable timeframe to evaluate the work and discuss ideas in person. We hired Moe and the Optivest Build team for a decorative pergola/faux balcony repair and replacement project involving redwood, exterior trim work, stucco work, door jamb and casing repairs, sealing, and painting. The contract process was straightforward and I appreciated the flexibility and payment structure based on project milestones rather than everything being front-loaded. After Moe's initial site visit and evaluation, it became clear that a more comprehensive rebuild approach for most of the structure made more sense than piecemeal repairs. Moe explained the long-term benefit of rebuilding the deteriorated portions together rather than replacing isolated components now and potentially dealing with additional mobilization and repair costs again a few years later. I appreciated that he was not simply replacing wood, but also improving areas where the original design appeared to contribute to moisture issues. As the project progressed and portions were opened up, some additional weather and age-related deterioration was uncovered, which led to a few adjustments and additional repair steps along the way. Moe worked with me through options for addressing things as they were discovered and helped walk me through the process and next steps, which reduced some of the stress and uncertainty that can come with larger exterior repair projects. What stood out to me was that Moe stayed involved throughout the project, communicated with me consistently, personally came by to check on things, and had his project manager and crew return when touch-up or punch-list items needed attention. Even as the scope evolved, Moe stayed engaged throughout the project and continued working through follow-up, touch-up, and close-out items professionally. The crew was always polite and respectful of our property, worked hard throughout the project, and the project was fully cleaned up and closed out professionally at the end. No construction project is completely stress-free, but I appreciated that concerns were addressed and that the team worked to make things right when needed. In the end, the pergola turned out looking great, as did the additional trim, stucco, and repair work completed throughout the project. We are happy with the final result and would feel comfortable recommending Moe and Optivest Build to others looking for a responsive and professional contractor. Grateful to Moe and his crew for their job well done.

They can cover any type of work from landscaping, structural framing, electrical and plumbing, up to fine finish work and adjustment. He gave us critical advice in selecting the right size slab to accomplish our objective. When we think about the amount of time and money, we could've wasted getting a beautiful slab that may not have been the right dimensions or had other problems, that is extremely valuable. And then his execution, fabrication and installation look clean and polished. Sam can really get down into the details of measurements and considerations in the design, architecture and installation with you. We felt comfortable that we and our home were in solid, reliable, hands the entire time. Any marble installation is too important and costly to take shortcuts. And we feel we got exceptional value with Sam in both the pricing and the level of design guidance that he provided.

We were not disappointed. Marius and his team did a great job renovating our bathrooms, dining room, kitchen and part of our living room all before we moved in to our town home. The quote was a one the higher ones but in the end there was wasn't much creep to the quoted price. Which to us means he probably did a pretty honest job with his statement of work and the proposed cost. Oh, his proposal of the ones we received back was easily the most detailed as well. Expecting good craftsmanship and a timely project completion should be a given but is often not. Marius and team delivered there even with some curve balls (we ended up doing more than initially intended) we threw their way. Marius was able to manage all balls in the air and still manage to complete the project within an acceptable timeline. You can't always plan on vendors having sourcing issues on materials. Or having damaged or wrong delivered fixtures or appliances and other random setbacks. But they managed to deal with and remediate all the issues and keep our project moving forward. What we really appreciated was their professionalism, communication and responsiveness. He kept us updated on any project needs or timeline updates.Their ability to manage the project, warn and educate us on potential issues and provide solutions or remediations quickly. What can I say? They were great and if I ever had to do this again, we'd hire him again. We've passed his contact to a few friends and acquaintances already. Now, whether he'd do work for us again? That would be another story... I cannot recommend Popescu Construction highly enough.
