I haven't been on Yelp in a while, but I was looking at my reviews and realized I may have missed the review for the best experience I've had overall. In fact, I thought I have already written a review for Joe and Loza Construction and I thought my wife had too, but since they're not here, I'll write one now. Even if they were here, it would be worth at least another one.
It's hard to begin to list the many positive things I have to say about Loza Construction, but first and foremost, Joe Loza is a quality human being. He is honest, reliable, punctual, thorough, and just completely a good person. I could go on, but you get the picture.
As for the job, my wife and I had a 2 bedroom/1 bath that we wanted to make a 3/2. We started the project with another contractor and after doing questionable work on the bathroom that barely passed inspection, we decided to search for another contractor for the 300+ sq. ft. addition of the bedroom. Fortunately we found Joe Loza from Loza Construction.
From the beginning we knew we found the right guy as he listened to all our concerns and came up with the perfect suggestions to all of our concerns. He drew up a fair quote and was very flexible with any changes or additions to the job. The project started out as a "simple" addition, but there were multiple things that we figured "we might as well" do along the way. To be clear, Joe never pressured us or sold us on anything we did not want, but instead was just flexible with options that we would not have considered otherwise or with ideas we had along the way. A few examples would be: re-stuccoing the entire house to match the addition, texturing the walls to match, remodeling the hallway bathroom to give us more storage space, changing the baseboards for consistency, completing/fixing some of the problems the previous contractor caused.
The whole project was done without displacing us from our home since the dust was well contained. His crew was respectful and hard-working and hardly a day went by without Joe checking to make sure everything was running smoothly. Even the parts where he used sub-contractors, he still ended up connecting us to quality people. 2-3 years later we are still completely happy with the work of Loza Construction.
I'm sure this review can't do all that Joe did for us justice, but the bottom line is that in the end, he helped turn our 1940's 2/1 into a beautifully modern 3/2. It was a pleasant experience to say the least and we have already recommended him to multiple friends. He really treated us like family (we even text Merry Christmas to each other) and hopefully he felt we treated him the same since he's essentially a member of ours. There is no doubt that when our next project comes around (hopefully building a new home on an empty lot), Joe will be the first person we call. read more
