The sushi rolls are good. Not fabulous but better than Publix sushi. The ramen is disappointing and not prepared correctly. The noodles were gummy/chewy. It was as though the dry noodles were thrown in a warm bowl of broth. It wasn't cooked. And it was super salty and I do love salt but this was too much. I stopped in for lunch today and grabbed their lunch special a classic roll with your choice of egg rolls, wontons, or fried rice. The waitress recommended the wontons, so I went with those, plus a classic salmon roll and a side of edamame. All in, it was a $20 meal... and honestly really filling. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the salmon roll. It wasn't your traditional small California-roll style it was a bit larger and packed with protein, which I loved. This spot is definitely a great soft introduction to sushi for people who aren't big on raw fish. If you're a die-hard sushi lover looking for super traditional cuts, this might not be your go-to, but they still have some really fun options. The new owner is fantastic, and she's been running lots of specials (including days where kids eat free!) and they're planning to start hosting events, too. If you've never tried Rock n Roll Sushi or you've been but not recently, I recommend you give it a try!! I had the chance to share a great meal at their Lithia location with Jenn and Mags from the @Riverview foodies and @Fishhawk foodies. The menu has plenty of options ranging from more traditional sushi and sashimi to less traditional options like fried sushi rolls and crab stuffed jalapeño poppers! It's a great place for sushi lovers to be able to dine with their 'I don't like raw seafood' friends, with lots of choices for both. I love raw fish but for those who don't, I highly recommend the spicy crawfish roll. The cajun seasoned crawfish inside is something I wouldn't have thought of as a sushi ingredient but it's GOOD! My favorite part - they'll gladly customize anything on the menu for you, including modifications to make your meal safely gluten free. (They even have gluten free soy sauce - just ask!). The portions are big and the dessert options will hit the spot for even the sweetest sweet tooth. Our server Alexis was patient and attentive, and the sushi chef, Tyler, was happy to answer all of our questions. The vibe inside is fun and laid-back. There's obviously a Rock n Roll theme with guitars on the walls and TVs showing music videos. They keep the music loud enough to be enjoyable but not loud enough to hinder conversation. Even the bathrooms fit the vibe (and were clean!) - think: glitter snow leopard wallpaper and neon signs. Under new ownership and the management of the lovely Melany, the Lithia location not only offers an enjoyable dining experience but also has a patio with games and kids activities and a full calendar of events like themed evenings (hello, 80's night!) and paint and sip or yoga on the patio. If you're looking for a place to have a working lunch, this one fits the bill for that too - even having multiple USB charging ports and outlets at each booth. It was such a cool & unique lunch experience! It's their Grand Opening week, and it already appears to be a hit. I just couldn't pass up the BOGO sushi special that they're having for day 4 of this event. It was such a treat! It's located in Alafia Commons off of Circa Fishhawk Blvd. I'd been anticipating the opening for a while now. Their sushi rolls look so unique on the menu. It's described as American-Style sushi. That's their words, not mine. I totally get that description after trying the Rocked Lobster and seasonal Hot Hot Honey Roll. Each roll was just a blend of tasty flavors. The flavors were definitely amplified (no pun intended) with special sauces and toppings. I think even a non-sushi lover would be happy with it. What I also like is that you have the option of ordering your roll baked or fried for a small upcharge. The same goes with any of the wraps. If you don't like seaweed, then you can get it wrapped with soy paper. It's very different from your traditional Japanese restaurants. I decided to take home the seasonal appetizer. I really like their signature spicy tuna mix. I could actually taste the vinegar in the bed of crispy rice. It all went well with their signature RnR hot honey (which isn't really hot). It was more like a sweet chili sauce with a spicy kick. It was very tasty. The only negative for me is that most of the rolls have cream cheese, shrimp tempura, and krab meat fillings. However, they can remove or add any items upon request. The interior is small & cozy, but there's also plenty of outdoor seating. So, perhaps there really aren't any negatives. The rock theme is fun. The music is great. The service was great. The lunch combo menu is something I'd like to try in the future. The hibachi entrees also look great. I want to try a roll with the Cajun seasoned crawfish next time. There's a rewards program, and take-out ordering is easy through the Toast app. Give it a try if you happen to be in Lithia, or just wait for the Apollo Beach location to open. The sushi here is definitely rock'n and roll'n! We started with the tuna tataki and crispy wonton. Great choices! The tuna tataki is full of flavor and the wontons that are provided are a perfect match of textures. The crispy wontons were similar but were stuffed with krab meat, cream cheese filling, studded with green onion and jalapeño. Very very tasty and flavorful. Next I had the VIP roll which was full of amazing goodness! The space is small in intimate with a nice patio when it's not too hot to sit outside. This is my new go to for sushi. I can't wait to try other items off of the menu!!!! read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Rock N Roll Sushi. There is very ample parking as it is conveniently located near a Publix. This American style sushi establishment features a wide variety of options. I got the rocked crab roll which was full of flavor and topped with avocado & special sauces. I also got a side of chicken fried rice for $5.99 which was of decent portion size and tasted really good. The spicy crawfish roll is a roll that I haven't seen at any other sushi spot that I frequent. It was very good, the wasabi and ginger along with soy sauce made it that much better! The main event is a dish consisting of steak, lobster, carrots, & avocado on fried rice topped with a special sauce. The service was phenomenal @ Rock N Roll Sushi, they take good care of you and provide speedy service. I suggest giving Rock N Roll Sushi a visit if you are in the area! read more

Rock N Roll Sushi in Fish Hawk is the worst meal I think we have everrrr had!! All 4 of us agreed! The picture is the food that was left behind.. (I thought i got a pic of the hibachi but i didnt) Hated to waste it but the spicy Tuna wasn't cold, sushi was soggy, the fried rice was mush like a microwave dinner! My steak was tender but was cooked well done when I asked for med rare & had a weird raw meat taste.. $120 WASTE! O & I had a hair in my rice ‍ Yes we told the girl & she was very sweet & apologetic but there didn't seem to be a manager on the clock.. Will never go back there.. First Let me say this became our favorite sushi restaurant. Not because the food is great or that it's traditional quality sushi. One of the reasons is that I love sushi, seafood and the choices as well as the music. My wife on the other hand is allergic to seafood and fish, but loves the filet and fried rice. So it was perfect - we would tell the waitress she's allergic and then the kitchen staff has ensured in the past to cook the food separate from fish or seafood nor on/in any oil or surface where seafood or fish have been cooked. That was until 10/10/25. My wife ordered the filet rice and egg rolls and we specified to the waitress that she has seafood and fish allergies, so to please cook her food separately. In the middle of her finishing her food, she started feeling the allergy effects. Luckily, she had 2 Benadryls and took them and the symptoms cleared up. Again, we've been here a few times and the food has been good and the staff has been very customer service oriented and on point. Maybe the kitchen staff is new and needs further training, not sure, I'll leave that to the owners and management to find out. This was not a good customer experience and although I mentioned this establishment became our favorite sushi restaurant, we will not be coming back. If the restaurant cannot guarantee that the food cannot be cooked separately, they should have told us. I spoke to the manager &or owner and I just didn't feel he took this matter serious, since this mishandling could lead to someone getting really sick and even cause death and a potential lawsuit. In fact after the conversation I am surprised we didn't get sick prior in this restaurant - they don't seem to have a good handle on quality. My initial reaction after the call was report this establishment to the BBB and the department of health, but I'll leave it here for now. ***In fact I find it quite weird that the last two 5 star ratings were provided by someone that for some reason coincidentally it was their first rating ever on Yelp, when Yelp has been around for at least over a decade. Tried this place with my family a few times. We have tried sushi and the hibachi and it is generally good. The sushi is definitely not the best nor most traditional style you get from those restaurants that specialize in it. That said, I don't think R&R Sushi is trying to. They are selling a different dining experience with a smaller choice of rolls. The sushi is good, not great, but again it is meant to be different in my opinion. Their hibachi is good, I only wish they gave noodles with the rice and veggies as many places do. Overall, they are good for a quick, laidback dining experience. We checked out RNR Sushi today in their 4th day of being opened. We tried the appetizer sampler so we could test several of the apps and 4 sushi rolls. We thought the jalapeño poppers and egg rolls were very unique and so tasty compared to other places the we have been. Our favorites sushi rolls were the VIP roll -baked version and the Velcro roll. Again both unique one having beef filet in it and the other having Cajun crawfish. Service was great considering opening week and we loved the outdoor seating area. Certainly give these guys and shot and give them a little grace as they work through their opening week kinks. read more

The food was good. The fish was fresh tasting. The music brought me back to high school. But the service was really slow...we waited 15-20 min for someone to take our order and another 20 min for our food to arrive at the table. It was 40 min total to get a California roll. I'm always trying to check out new Japanese restaurants... but I've never seen a Japanese place without a sushi bar. Never. No chef in front of you preparing things, no fresh presentation... Nothing. The whole experience was terrible. Just terrible. And in such a nice-looking place, too. There were more TVs at the bar than anything else. Visually? Beautiful. Really nice setup. But the food? Weak. So weak. The tempura I ordered -- my God... it was all sugar. Just drowned in sauce. No flavor, just sweet. The only decent thing was the egg roll -- and come on, that's something you can buy at any grocery store and throw in the oven. I'm telling you, I'm not the kind of guy who badmouths places. I really try not to. But this? No way. I couldn't hold back. No sushi bar, no presentation, no visible fresh fish. And then they have the nerve to charge $6 for two salmon nigiris -- and the salmon? It came out pale, thin, dry. Might as well have walked over to Publix next door and grabbed the $5 Wednesday sushi special. Would've been better. Honestly? Ridiculous. I'm disappointed. The rolls weren't tightly rolled and fell apart when picked up; but I assume they're all new since it just opened and they'll get better at it! The jalapeño popper appetizer was a happy surprise! Nope, not the place. I was so excited to try this new place...but never again. It started with a dirty flimsy plastic cup of water and got worse. This is perfect for the local yocal FishHawk crowd...but is gas station level sushi. I had the Jalapeño Poppers, which was supposed to be crab meat/cream cheese mixture inside of a jalapeño fried. It was an imitation crab stick and a smear of cream cheese...no actual crab. I had the Spicy Tuna Roll that I'm sure was just the smashed imitation crab mixture with spicy mayo on top, and a $4 bowl of Insta-Miso soup from a package. Shameful that they charge way too much and no real products. The instant Miso Soup was $4.28, fake crab and jalapeno was almost $10 and the smashed stringy indiscernible possible fish roll was almost $10. At the end, my waiter dropped the soy sauce/wasabi bowl onto the ground and one of the 3 young ladies standing around in the really really tiny dining room came over and picked it up and then everyone went back to standing around and left the spicy mayo and soy sauce on the ground. I should have never looked at the floor, it was super dirty and probably unswept for weeks. Shame on you Rock N Roll Sushi, we could have had another good restaurant in there.
