We came in for lunch after attending a car show in Duluth. The sign said Hibachi in conjunction with sushi so we ventured in sun drenched from the hot day in the south. Service was fast and good and on point. The hibachi we chose was shrimp and steak. Both were delicious! My wife loved the zucchini and rice and I loved the yum yum sauce. Gender neutral restrooms were on prem and clean. Ambiance very casual with modern tables and comfy booths. The tvs played rock videos from loop.tv and there was a rock 'n roll theme hence the name. All in all a good place to eat in downtown Duluth.

Sushi was okay but presentation was awesome. It was just too cold and the rice not seasoned well, but we'll try them again since they just opened up and still getting situated. It is in a nice location in downtown Duluth. We ordered several rolls and the cucumber salad

The sweet home Alabama roll (the fried one) was the best roll I've had in a little bit. My friend said her rolls didn't stand a chance lol Needless to say we will be coming back

Really cool restaurant! Love the atmosphere and the music. Staff was pretty friendly and the food was good. I ordered the "jailhouse roll", which is a deep fried roll filled with shrimp tempura and topped with Cajun seasoned crawfish spicy Mayo, eel sauce, and crunchy flakes. The roll was pretty tasted, but I did wish the Cajun flavoring was a bit more stronger, didn't taste it much throughout the roll. Overall, I would definitely recommend the spot if you're looking for a different take on sushi. I ended up taking my food to go this time, but will definitely dine in once I come back.

It was a bit confusing trying to find this place, but they are located around the back of the building. Look for the guitar! While obviously not authentic Japanese, the ambiance is fun and creative, with a rock n roll theme. Very unique. The service was friendly and attentive, despite the kitchen being a little slow making my coworker's hibachi plate. My other coworker and I got our sushi rolls quickly through, and because we were on a short lunch break, we couldn't wait and had to start eating before her hibachi plate arrived. Kind of awkward, but understandable. I ordered the PYRO ROLL (Shrimp tempura inside, topped with baked krab meat, spicy mayo, eel sauce and crunchy flakes) with a ginger salad. I appreciate that they provide a calorie estimate next to each item--I wish more restaurants did that! As far as taste, everything was just okay. The seafood quality was not the highest, but it got the job done. Would I seek this restaurant out if craving sushi? Probably not. Would I go again if I'm in the area and someone in my group wants to go? Why not.

Really enjoyed the experience but was not as impressed with the food. The decor is really cool and it feels like you are attached to a music venue. The menus areunique records and the menu items all have music themed names. I ordered a miso soup that tasted overly salty and looked like it came from a soup in a cup. The Salmon nigiri was good, but the rice was undercooked and the presentation in a bowl on lettuce threw me for a loop. My friend got the Punk Rock Roll and the shrimp tasted less like a tempura and the spacey tuna was not all that great. The highlight was the Unplugged roll which was a very flavourful cucumber roll with salmon, yellowtail, red tuna and avocado. Might give it another try in the future, but was not as impressed as I had hoped.

First timer! We had a great experience. The sushi was hands down AMAZING! The service was good too. Seemed like he was the only waiter there. He did an awesome job handling everyone and remembering to bring the little things we asked for. Super kind, please forgive me I'm trying to remember his correct name, Isaiah or Isaac, YOU ROCK! We ordered the VIP roll, metalhead, crowd surfer, and British Invasion which were packed with really good flavors! 10/10 will be back again

Punk Rock Roll

Great sushi! Great music. Cool vibe. I'll definitely be back! I had the Groupie Roll and the Punk Rock Roll. both were very good, punk rock roll is my favorite! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive as well!

STILL A FIVE STAR IN MY BOOK! It's hard to believe RnR Sushi has been here almost a year. So many changes to downtown Duluth, as it continues to get better and it's popularity grows. As for RnR it continues to be an awesome anchor. Had my favorite Twisted Tuna and Jalapeños which are still awesomely unique twists (pun intended) on old standards. Great atmosphere and the best music in Duluth guarantee a wonderful time out! Also love the renovations to the patio with the privacy fence and comfy couch! Bravo

Chicken fried rice took maybe 3 bites

Food was hot but flavor was off. Not like other places. The sauces are not balanced. Also not impressed with the portions like I know it's a sushi place but if I order chicken fried rice I'm expecting a dinner sized portion. I'll pay extra. Same with hibachi other places give you so much more idk why it's so hard to throw in some extra rice as if it's not like the cheapest thing ever. Also the guys that work there all they do is yell about trivia I mean I couldn't even hear myself think much less have a conversation at my table all state facts and Star Wars facts. I mean they were louder than the music lol anyways would never come back

This food is trash. The tuna was mush. And the CROWD SURFER ROLL was horrible. Do not waste your time or money.

Great sushi, highly recommend the VIP roll. The hibachi was ok, but very salty. A little pricey, but a great addition to downtown Duluth.

I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard…read morethey changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?

This sushi spot is nestled in a strip of other business, but deserves it's OWN standalone location!…read more I've had sushi from many establishments. Yet, there is something special about Flying Roll. Anything from it's cozy, quiet atmosphere to the flavor-forward rolls, I'd go so far as to say, there's nothing that would disappoint. We dined on Shumai and Rangoon with our hot green tea. The rolls arrived in very good time following - The Triple X, Lobster Love and Snow Mountain rolls. The Shumai was very tasty, but the Rangoon had with more crab than cream cheese - a first, much to our pleasure. For the rolls, each was enough for one person. The standout was the Lobster Lover, followed very closely by the Triple X. The snow mountain roll was a bit heavy with the tempura flakes ( the Snow? ) but decent overall. Recapping, the service, flavors and vibe all warrant future visits for certain, if for no other reason than to try their other offerings, which are plentiful! Even the drive itself would not be a factor. BON APPÉTIT

This is a spot that I've personally been keeping to myself for a while now, because it's just that good. Why this place is just that good: 1 Japanese sushi chef & staff 2 Taste & texture just like Japan 3 Vibes & service just like Japan 4 Chef's choice flights with no filler, like egg, squid, shrimp, etc. All fish. 5 No Michelin stars needed because here, I feel like I'm back in Japan at a hidden local mom & pop spot. We love it and it's such a nice comfort meal. That said, I have to give it three stars. Over the past few years, I've noticed prices have gone up while portions seem to have gotten smaller. For example, a single piece of roti is now $3, which is steep. I've also experienced some inconsistency in the food--such as the Pad Thai and how saucy/not saucy it can come. Another reason for the rating would be service. On weekdays, we usually have the same server who is friendly and attentive, and those visits are always great. I can't remember his name cause it's been a while since we've been on a weekday. During our recent Sunday visits, the service hasn't been as strong. Tonight, our server checked on us right after the food arrived but didn't return for the rest of the meal. Another server eventually stepped in to check on us and help close us out. Other than those things, I still enjoy coming to SriThai whenever I'm craving Thai food! I also noticed they added a happy hour with $4 beers, $5 wine, $6 cocktails, and $7 appetizers, plus $1 wings on Tuesdays--so I'm excited to check that out sometime.
