To begin, contractor, John Fruin met us to provide one of two bids for our project. He was the second we interviewed. Despite our plans to go with the first bid, he quickly won us over with his level of expertise and easy, no-pressure demeanor. He had clever ideas we had never considered. Long story short- he won us ten times over! And, the bid was dramatically lower than the other. Dramatically! We also loved the payment plan with no interest! Now... about the crew! AMAZING group of such dedicated, hard-working young, strong men we have ever seen! Our project was estimated at a little less than 2 weeks. And, guess what? It took 3 1/2 days!!! Unbelievable! The crew under foreman, Ulises worked so diligently and with such attention to detail. They arrived promptly early AM and left just before 6 PM. They impressed us and the neighbors in their last hour of work, power washing the project before their return the next day which included the street. Clean-up was quite impressive! And, the work was expertly executed! Each had their role and there was so much respect and encouragement between them all! Such a happy crew! He was able to put my vision together and gave us ideas/recommendations what we can do to our backyard. He's easy to communicate with, and kept us updated on the work. We bought a house in a new developed area, so it was a blank slate to start on. I had concrete, real grass, and a retaining wall placed. After all was done, the team cleaned up very well. My husband and I were looking for a licensed and insured contractor and charge at a reasonable price. We've met with other licensed contractors and charged $10k more, and for the same design I envisioned. My husband did his own research on how much items would cost and Zoe Landscaping didn't seem to charge too much or too little. Don't be fooled by contractors who say they are licensed but don't give a licensed number and have a cheaper price. We think his charge was reasonable and affordable. As far as the time the backyard being done, we were estimated that the backyard would be done in about 2 weeks. It took about 4 weeks, but that was because we had that one week of rain. Which is something we can't control. I felt bad, but they had to work on Thanksgiving. Overall, will hire again, and recommend to others. Thank you and great job!

It started with a 3D design which was helpful for us to envision what was possible. We then talked through the quote and made adjustments to fit our budget and meet our needs. Our project included cement work, pea gravel installation, sod installation, plantings and mulch, new irrigation, custom planters and trellis, removal and replacement of fence, and a retaining wall. We found Roberto to give honest and clear advice through all of our questions and he always responded quickly and gave us updates which was very helpful in helping us plan. With any unexpected things that came up during the work, we were so happy with the way Roberto addressed concerns and made sure that we were happy with the final results. I had a slow leak coming from my water valve in which I was losing a lot of water. I researched…read moreplaces that could fix the issue and came across this business. I called and spoke with Randeep, who scheduled me within 2 days with an irrigation specialist. I had an appointment this past Wednesday for Danny to come by and take a look at the leak. Not only did Danny fix the leak, he replaced the valve completely with newer, more up to date parts as my home is 20+ years old. After addressing the original issue, he noticed that two of my sprinklers were not functioning and replaced them, even without me asking! Wow! He then recommended that I replace my sprinkler timer as well, since it was also an older/outdated model. I purchased a new timer, in which he took the time to walk me through step by step to make sure I understood how to use the timer and make necessary adjustments and also made sure to go through the schedule not once, but twice to ensure I was satisfied with the watering schedule and overall water flow. During the walkthrough, I noticed there was a huge leak coming from a drip line in my backyard that caused a puddle in my lawn. He explained that the leak in the drip line may have been caused my running it over with a lawnmower or by me accidentally hitting the line with a weed wacker. I asked Danny how much it would cost for him to fix the leak, and he said, "This is such an easy fix, I'm almost positive you can fix it on your own." He then recommended the parts I needed to fix the leak, and sure enough, I was able to fix it on my own! He made sure to keep in contact with me while I went to Home Depot to make sure I bought the right parts. Danny went above and beyond and provided exceptional service! He was patient, honest, kind, and very knowledgeable, which is a true reflection of the company. Nowadays, it's hard to find a trustworthy company that won't take advantage of you! When I decided to redo my backyard, I consulted with several contractors. My primary goals were to…read morereplace an aging deck and to cover the yard in pavers reducing the weed potential, which had been an ongoing problem for years. I chose pavers because they have a better track record for longevity than concrete. When I got back the proposals, I appreciated that the one from Forever Green Cali reflected everything I had mentioned in our initial meeting and had the best price. It was clear that attention had been paid during the meeting. Once selected as the contractor, the work began pretty quickly, nailing down details, making selections, identifying the things to stay, etc. The demolition of the existing deck and cleanup of the weeds went fairly quickly. And there were a lot of weeds. The rest of the work of preparing the foundation and sand and then laying the pavers went very quickly as well. Their employees worked very hard and with precision. I had an existing orange tree that was remaining and I really liked the outline that was made around it, including the darker accent pavers. I wanted a tree on the other side of the yard and I had failed to emphasize where I wanted it. When I asked about making a change to pavers already laid out in order to adjust for the tree, Firas was quick to accommodate me, and his employee made the change in no time. This cut out mimics the cut out for the orange tree and really complements it. As a novice at this sort of thing, I appreciated the good suggestions Firas made throughout the process. He and his team were very easy to work with. Part of this process included using their landscape designer to design the planting beds that were around the perimeter. She really took into consideration the kinds of plants I liked and the color scheme that I wanted. After our trip to the nursery, she provided a schematic so that I could anticipate what it would look like and also serve as a guide for the planting of the yard. I absolutely love the result. It is precisely what I wanted. I love the patio that replaced the deck. The edge is trimmed in a darker bullnose paver that makes it visually clear that there is a step down and the lights under the step emphasize this transition. Having broken my arm in the yard five months ago, this is a safety feature that I really appreciate. My backyard is now a much safer place to be which was a primary incentive for this entire project. Did I mention that I love my backyard? It's now a calm and tranquil place to relax. I cannot recommend Forever Green Cali highly enough. If I were to ever have another yard that needed assistance, I would definitely use them again.
