Chris and his workers just recently completed a total overhaul of our backyard. We needed a new retaining wall to hold back our sliding hillside, and a complete re-do of old landscaping that was in place from the previous owner(s). We were struggling to find someone willing to drive to our reasonably remote location, until we contacted Behr Landscaping. Chris came up with a beautiful plan from our very vague ideas, and did an amazing job making our backyard into a beautiful retreat. Chris and his workers were punctual and friendly at all times. They stuck to the timelines that Chris laid out. He was excellent with communicating back and forth with changes and ideas or questions. Our new backyard is everything we hoped it would be and more, and we couldn't be happier that we chose Behr Landscaping.

We hired Behr to do a complete makeover or our front and backyard. Chris was the best and took note of all of our wants. He than proposed two different plans for the front and backyard. The best thing was the CAD drawing of the complete design. From plants, to lights, and irrigation system placement. The overall job was fantastic along with the work. Great Job!

Fantastic job by Chris & crew, from design to completion. We are really happy with reduction of grass footprint, addition of sidewalk from street, repair of underground drainage, installation of low water usage plants.

Still no response after 2 months

How strange? Short version: Chris came out and spent about 30 minutes with us but never followed up with an estimate. Entire story: I called a was impressed with the professional lady who answered the phone so I agreed to wait a few weeks for their first available appointment. I received another call a few days before my appointment to confirm. Chris showed up in a nice clean truck, gave us a bunch of great ideas and we really thought that we'd found the right one. A week or so goes by and no call or email with the estimate. I give it a few more days and send them a message through Yelp. I can't say for sure if I called and left a mesaage or not but I shouldn't have to be the one to call and do follow ups. As you can see from my picture, no response! Two months later... To add insult to injury, I spoke to my next door neighbor and she said that Chris recently came out to their house and provided them with an estimate. And he still didn't remember that he was supposed to provide us with an estimate? So strange that he would spend the time that he did with us to just not follow through and follow up. Maybe Yelp has given them too much business.

The best landscape design company in the area! We had our backyard completely redone. They did stamped concrete, artificial turf, a garden area, drought tolerant plants and built our 2 pergolas. Chris and his team were very professional and created a space we love to spend time in. In our initial consultation he listened to everything we wanted for our project and then worked with us to find solutions that fit our budget without sacrificing the style of the overall design. He was great with adding on a few "must haves" and making a few changes as the project was in progress. For the high quality of work, the price was extremely reasonable. We would recommend Behr Landscaping to all of our friends and anyone looking for quality landscape design.

From just plain grass to this wonderful drought tolerant landscape!

I recently hired Chris to help me with the removal of my grass out front and replacing it with a drought tolerant design. I was very picky but Chris stayed very patient and helped me every step of the way. I had a lot of ideas but needed Chris to bring it all together for the final design. I wanted my house to have incredible curb appeal which Chris provided and much more. His crew is phenomenal. They are punctual, hard workers , and always have a smile on their faces. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I asked Chris for a front yard that "POPPED LIKE NO OTHER" and that is exactly what I was given. People honk as they go by and are also giving me a thumbs up. Some stop and take pictures! It's just so awesome! Every time I catch a glimpse of my home coming or going, I can feel a smile emerging from my face! I am so delighted with the finished project. Chris, thank you for all your talent, time, and effort. Oh he also put in a putting green for hubby.

It was a pleasure working with Chris. We knew it was time to go drought tolerant but were reluctant to give up our mature landscaping and green lawn. He worked with us through the process and the result was stunning. We're so happy!!!

We have a small courtyard. Chris did an amazing job making it a peaceful getaway. We are so pleased with his work. He is friendly and great to work with. His creative ideas made our space a great retreat. It was worth the wait. Thanks Chris.

We had our grass area removed to make the backyard drought-friendly, and Behr Landscaping did a great job implementing our plan.

So, we decided to reach out to them since we loved the pavers they did already, but this time with a MUCH bigger job. They sent Matt M. to our home, who ended up being our Project Manager. What was super important to us was to find someone that could translate our vision to his team and bring it to life. This is exactly what Matt did. His crew Sergio Sr, Sergio Jr and Marco and the rest of the crew were absolutely amazing! They paid attention to detail. They never rushed the process. They were always kind and understanding. They worked endless hours in brutal weather and poured love into our home. Super humans is what we called them! Master Masonry at its finest. If you are ever thinking about any hardscaping, landscaping or draining system for your home it would be in your best interest to reach out to Black Diamond. And ask for Matt and his All Star Team. They will not disappoint. Thank you Black Diamond!

To begin, contractor, John Fruin met us to provide one of two bids for our project. He was the second we interviewed. Despite our plans to go with the first bid, he quickly won us over with his level of expertise and easy, no-pressure demeanor. He had clever ideas we had never considered. Long story short- he won us ten times over! And, the bid was dramatically lower than the other. Dramatically! We also loved the payment plan with no interest! Now... about the crew! AMAZING group of such dedicated, hard-working young, strong men we have ever seen! Our project was estimated at a little less than 2 weeks. And, guess what? It took 3 1/2 days!!! Unbelievable! The crew under foreman, Ulises worked so diligently and with such attention to detail. They arrived promptly early AM and left just before 6 PM. They impressed us and the neighbors in their last hour of work, power washing the project before their return the next day which included the street. Clean-up was quite impressive! And, the work was expertly executed! Each had their role and there was so much respect and encouragement between them all! Such a happy crew! Of course, we will continue to recommend them to anyone we know and have already referred to a few of those dog-walkers we never knew before!

Justin made some suggestions, and his crew executed perfectly We went with concrete for easier and safer access, benderboard instead of blocks because of the narrow yard. Simple, cleanly done, bed is edged to contain the soil, trees are well seated and fertilized, irrigation updated for the new plantings, weed cloth under the gravel. Concrete has a nice brushed finish for traction in the wet, tree is staked, can't wait to see them bloom. It's the nice little details that make a quality job. Every day the site was cleaned as if they hadn't been there, they worked quickly and carefully even in the narrow areas. I'm very happy with the job and execution, and highly recommend them.

We contracted for landscaping work, a redwood pergola, patio cover and a cement patio for just under 30k. We ended up having to file a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), and after an independent inspection and mandatory arbitration, we were awarded $18,140 for the cost of repairs. The contractor ultimately paid the award in full to avoid loosing their Contractor's License and possibly their bond. Unfortunately, the arbitration process took almost a year and required significant time and effort. We would never use this contractor again but if you do, we would highly recommend that you perform thorough due diligence, make sure the contract spells everything out in detail to include specific dimensions, types of materials, etc., keep detailed records throughout the project and if any issues arise do not make any additional payments until all identified issues are resolved.

One bedroom had sunk by almost 5 inches as that part of the house had been built on fill. In order to restore the house to it's proper level numerous foundation jacks and floor leveling screw jacks were required. In addition some landscaping bushes and pvc sprinkler pipes had to temporarily removed. Groundworks had informed me prior to starting work what would be required to successfully complete this project and had my full approval. The house is now level, the doors no longer swing on their own and the interior cracks between the walls and ceiling joints no longer exist. Prior to the crew leaving the yard was cleaned up and the pvc pipes replaced. Best of all Groundworks will come back annually to the next 5 years and make any necessary adjustments. The Groundworks crew that made this happen was Andrew, the site supervisor, Charlie and Allen. Their performance and daily communication was superior on all levels. This is part 2. The Groundworks Poly crew of Anthony & Brian were very fast and efficient in completing their part of the foundation repair contract which was to level our family room slab floor. Fast, yes, but Anthony did take the time to not only explain what they were going to do but also walked me through the process as they were working. I have no problem in recommending them & Groundworks to other home owners who need to have their foundation repaired.

I spent approximately $30,000 with Groundworks, and I deeply regret hiring them…read more I called Groundworks for one reason: contractors working on my floors noticed a slope and told me the beams underneath my house needed to be stabilized before they could continue. Groundworks assessed my crawl space and recommended a system they represented would address the problem. I relied on their expertise. That is the ONLY reason I agreed to spend approximately $30,000. When the project was about 80% complete, Groundworks suddenly told me I needed to call a carpenter. They did not explain that there was significant dry rot underneath my home or that the condition of the wood needed to be addressed before the work they were performing. I learned that later, after hiring an independent home inspector. By then, Groundworks had already been working throughout the same crawl space installing stabilization and encapsulation. My inspector identified significant dry rot and explained that it needed to be addressed first. Had I known that before Groundworks performed approximately $30,000 worth of work, I would NEVER have moved forward with their recommended system before addressing the underlying damage. And here is the worst part: THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. The slope remains and appears to have increased since their work was completed. I am now facing additional repairs and expenses, and some of Groundworks' work may have to be undone or worked around to properly repair the underlying damage. The encapsulation has also been problematic. It was supposed to help keep my crawl space dry, but it was not properly secured, leaving openings that allowed rodents into my crawl space. I also later learned that the dehumidification equipment installed did not cover the entire crawl space as I understood it was supposed to. Then there is the customer service. Once they had my money, getting meaningful help became incredibly difficult. I have contacted corporate and have gone more than a month without a meaningful response. If Chris is assigned to your project, based on my experience, I would be extremely cautious. My advice before hiring Groundworks: GET AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION FIRST. Do not rely solely on the assessment of the company selling you the system. Get everything in writing and ask specifically whether anything underneath your home needs to be repaired before their system is installed. I trusted Groundworks to identify the problem and recommend a solution. Approximately $30,000 later, my original problem remains, the slope appears worse, I discovered significant dry rot that should have been addressed first, I am facing additional repairs, the encapsulation allowed rodent access, and corporate has been unresponsive. I would NEVER recommend Groundworks based on my experience. $30,000 spent. Original problem unresolved. More repairs ahead. That speaks for itself.
