Sorry this turned out to be a book... had a lot to say, but only so much room to speak my mind... (Zach) assured me he takes care of his customers. In fact, he stated he lost 25k on a job had to do free; because of a mistake his crew made. Red flag people! Everything listed here we had to point out to Zach; because there was minimal supervision. Wrong pea gravel was put down. Leveling of flagstone was wrong and so it wobbled; cracked; DG pulled away from flagstones. The turf wasn't properly nailed down in many places. Existing irrigation had to be repaired. They destroyed our water inlet to the pool. The turf has roll out marks on it which looks like seams. Was assured they would go away; still there 3 months later. The sealer on the DG didn't take; already started to come up in places from the rains. Zach waited until all turf and flagstone was in and then started the concrete decking. Color went onto the flagstone; which had to be removed in areas and replaced. Baking soda was used; went everywhere into the turf; and around the pool perimeters. I had to get on my hands and knees to scrub; before they did the sealer, because Zach could care less!!! In fact earlier on when he was trying to acid wash the concrete decking; he stated that he was going to take it off the bill if he couldn't do the job; which meant he was going to leave us with a mess and we would need to hire someone else to fix it. Second coat of sealer to the decking blistered! So here is the bottom line. Yes they fixed what they damaged. Was the workmanship there? No!! I feel lied to; manipulated; and insulted. The decking was a huge part of the look I dreamed about. Zach was told that one section of the pool had been sealed and it would need to be chemically removed. Never happened; so that section will always look different. When you hire a contractor; you expect them to know and guide you through the job. On more than one occasion; Zach said: This job was costing him money. Costing him money!!! This was because of their screw ups! He has not once suggested to reimburse us one dime. I had to take off work and use my vacation time to deal with this madness; several times. So much for taking care of your customer. How much was this job? Oh yeah, over 18K!!! A relative had work done by these guys and I had to get involved. They made many errors, and even after explaining the problems, only half of the problems got fixed correctly. I had to bring someone else in to fix 4 remaining problems. The project manager Dennis liked to argue. The owner is knowledgable but a bit of a pain to deal with. I think you should be able to find a better business I would not use them again. read more

BUTCHERS!! BEWARE. SENIOR CITIZENS BEWARE. The only explanation for the damage the crew did to my property/landscaping is they were unskilled laborers who had no training whatsoever. We used to have a nice screening effect with our three Yew Podocarpus trees that were planted 7 years ago. Not anymore. I got home to find that the crew chopped off the lower four feet of branches of all three trees. The foreman told me that when he asked them why they did that, their reply was, "How else were we supposed to clean out under them?" REALLY? They didn't even chop off the branches cleanly. If the cut didn't go all the way through, they just ripped it off the trunk. I was present when the foreman gave them their instructions, and they were specifically told to keep the branches away from the patio overhang and nothing else. Their destruction didn't end there. They chopped off the lower four feet of my Japanese Maple too--but only on one side. They destroyed the look of the tree, and again, if the cut didn't go all the way through, they just ripped it off the trunk. They chopped off three strong, mature branches. They also chopped off the lower branches of my other maple tree. And, to top it all off, they didn't even clean out the debris under the trees. They also trampled the flowers I had planted in front of my hedge when they "trimmed" the hedge. They didn't pick up all the prunings--I had to do that myself after I called and fired them. They were not here the full hour either time-40 minutes and 35 minutes. When I contacted the owner, Zach, he said there was nothing he could do other than to cancel the outstanding invoice...AS IF I WAS GOING TO PAY FOR THE DESTRUCTIVE WORK! Other than that, he blew me off. I am a senior citizen, who was in need of a gardener to take care of my landscaping because I found it too much to do any longer. We contracted with A2Z for FULL service yard maintenance. We were very specific about our wants/needs and even provided a list so that we were all on the same page. The service provided was no more than mow, blow & go which we expressly stated we did not want. Additionally, the two person crew was here for about 1/2 the amount of time they were supposed to be here on the last day they came. We ended service at that point. For $50/hour we expected way more. A-2-Z started with a detailed estimate with 3-D model with in days of initial look a my back yard project. They started the project a few weeks later. I had one small request that my sprinkler controller be relocated before the concrete pour and Zack was over to the house with in a few hours of us contacting him, to see that everything was moving along well and note and changes we wanted to make. The full project took about a week. They did a excellent job! highly recommend A-2-Z. Since the project has been completed I have had to contact Zack twice because the newly installed sprinklers were not working. Zack has responded and fixed issue right away both times! Zach Wilkerson's A2Z built us a beautiful white vinyl fence spanning our whole front yard and a redwood fence covering the length of the side. A year and a half later the fences are as bright and new as the day they were put in. Excellent after sales service to boot!! Called A2Z to make some minor adjustments to the vinyl gate and their response a day later was just amazing!! None of that after the job forgetfulness. Will definitely have them on speed dial. We have used A 2 Z for allot of jobs but the latest job was not good. We had a drainage problem that they had fixed for us a couple of years ago in the back. So when we decided to extend our RV parking we called Zach because he knew about our problem. He said no problem they could do the job. Well they did the job and know my backyard floods again. And they will not fix it unless I pay them $3200 more. When I told Zach no this was your mistake he is blaming my husband. Stating that his Forman told my husband that it would not drain the way it was set up and my husband told him to do it anyway. That makes no sense I guess they don't want to fix it. A2Z did an amazing job on our front and back yard and even created a secret garden. Could not be more happy!!

We had this service for a couple years and most of the time all they did was mow and edge the lawn. Once in a while they would trim the bushes in the front and only trimmed our rose bush when it was growing well out into the path in the side yard they used to get to our back yard. Several of the trees they planted died when the drip system they installed stopped working. We had mentioned that the drip system didn't appear to be working and they kept saying that it was despite the trees dying. I have had to replace at least 4 sprinkler heads in the back yard because they got broken. Weeds would grow to over 2 feet high before they were removed (if even then) and one of the solar lights we had out front for the bushes and tree was broken and hidden behind our hose reel which is where I found it. Zach wasn't very helpful and wouldn't replace one of the trees that died saying it was past the warranty (6 months) despite the fact that he bought it at Home Depot and they warranty their plants for a year (the tag was still on it). In fact, when they removed it the person didn't clamp the drip system line properly (it was actually working during this period) and we had a fountain in our backyard that we didn't notice for over a week because it would come on around 10:30 pm or 5:00 am. Overall, very unhappy with the service and Zach was not a good person to work with after the initial job was done. read more

EXCELLENT FROM START TO FINISH! Having acquired a new landscape design for our front yard which had become victim to the drought, we proceeded to look for a landscaping company to complete the work. We found this was not an easy thing to do for a small project. Some we contacted never returned our calls and another came and never followed up with an estimate nor called to explain why. We were beginning to think we would have to do the work ourselves until we contacted A2Z and met Zachariah! He was terrific from start to finish! * Punctual for our initial meeting * Spent a great deal of time measuring and gathering info regarding our "vision" * Reviewed the design suggesting changes that would better meet our needs * Had a great deal of knowledge regarding landscape design, plantings and care * Within hours produced an estimate and willingly worked within our budget * Gave a start date and realistic estimate of the time it would take to complete the job * Started the work on time never missing a day until the project was complete * Returned several times to follow-up on the continued progress and growth of the plantings During the removal of old grass they encountered a massive amount of roots from our corner palm tree which encompassed the entire front yard. They worked tirelessly to remove and mulch the area for new grass and plantings! That in itself was quite an undertaking! They did a wonderful job installing the new walkway and kept everything neat and clean throughout the project. During the summer heat a couple of the plantings didn't quite make it, Zach and his team were back to evaluate the problem and replace the plantings. In fact, this job was completed in April and Zach was here last week (October) making sure we were still happy with the progress and suggesting places that could use fertilizer, etc! We bought a home in Suisun beginning of this year. One of the many reasons we chose this house was the large backyard and it's blank canvas. We had a few other projects that needed immediate attention and we were thrilled to finally have it landscaped. We found your company via the app home advisor and we were certain this would be a great experience as all other services we have hired through the app have been. We called your listed phone number and the woman who answered the phone sounded rather annoyed. We explained to her we needed some landscaping done and wondered if anyone could come out to meet with us. Her plain, simple and rather dry response was "We are booked until October. " That was all she said. There was no I'm so sorry we are booked until October will that work for you or let me take down your information and see what we can do for you. That would of been a wonderful response and we would of been willing to wait for available date. First impressions make a whole lot of a difference to us and let us say your receptionist and her representation of your company was not the greatest. Our backyard is quite large and although we are sure it will be expensive we are willing to invest in our home. This will be a very profitable project for which ever company we choose. This review is extremely overdue. We hired Zach and his team for a major overhaul of our backyard in November '15. First impressions go a long way- Zach was punctual for our scheduled meeting for the initial overview & quote of the project. He was very professional and gave some excellent recommendations. The landscape overhaul included the removal of a 40' Mexican Fan Palm and numerous overgrown vines, rose bushes and dead/dying trees, the demo and replacement of about 70' of wood privacy fence, the demo of a rickety wood shed thing that was a safety hazard for any living creature that came near it, and the mother of all retaining wall overhauls... Over 150' of dilapidated railroad tie retaining wall removed and replaced with stacked blocks, ample drainage behind the wall, and paver steps. They cleaned up the worksite every day so the epic mess that could've happened never got the chance to get out of control. We also have a Husky that resides in our backyard and they were phenomenal with our 4 legged fur-baby. Vinnie (one of the hard-working fellas we got the honor of meeting) & Cash (our dog) may have become BFFs during this project. We highly recommend these hard working guys for any landscaping project that you may have. I know we'll be calling them up again if we have any other projects that arise in our future. read more
