Ron was extremely professional. We had a small job to remove an orange tree, gravel, two old flower boxes and reroute the drip system to install a quality artificial lawn. His team also applied new mulch to the yard. He was very responsive, I called on Wednesday, we met on Thursday and his guys started work on Monday and finished on Saturday with a quality job well done. He walked us through the whole process so we were very comfortable. He charged $6700 for the whole project which was cheaper than a crew from Sacramento as they wanted $7500 to start and it didn't include tree removal, relocating a sprinkler/drip system or applying new mulch. We moved into an older home where (among many other things) the backyard had been neglected and was a complete eyesore. It also was on a negative slope, so the backyard would flood whenever it rained. It also did not help that the previous owner inexplicably blocked all the gutters with piled dirt, brick trim, and a large planter. Grrrr. When we finally could get around to redoing the backyard landscaping, we contacted Creative Image Landscaping based on their positive Yelp reviews. After a couple of visits, Ron came out (on a Saturday morning) and gave us a detailed estimate on all the work that needed to be done. He was always on time, very knowledgeable, and we immediately got a good vibe from him, so we hired him to completely redo and fix our backyard and install a new paver patio. They were able to start the following Monday. Ron and his crew started work on time every day. They literally bulldozed the yard and started completely from scratch. Pretty much everything needed to be redone. We were impressed with the meticulous manner at how they did the work. For example, they spent several days just on the paver patio, laying each row carefully to make sure it was straight and flat. They even used a laser level to make sure that the patio surface had the proper slope for drainage. Ron also went over with us the choices for pavers, stones, and mulch to make sure what we got what we wanted. The end result is exactly what we wanted...a beautiful, low maintenance backyard with a large usable paver patio. The gutters now drain into underground pipes, so flooding should no longer be an issue. They also fixed some things which we did not consider like the fence, gate, and the patio cover posts. The one word that keeps coming to mind when we look at Ron's work is "professional". From what I could see and know, everything was done correctly and "according to the book." For instance, they even installed a drainage system behind the retaining wall, something that most DIY's (and I bet most low bid landscapers) would not bother with. The quote for the work initially seemed high, but after seeing the tremendous amount of labor and care that went into the project (over 10 days) and the professional quality of the work, we definitely felt we got our money's worth. We also really appreciate when a company does what they say they are going to do and go above and beyond what is asked. Creative Image Landscaping did just that. They are true professionals in every sense of the word. We are very happy with the experience from beginning to end and highly recommend Ron and his crew to anyone. We used Ron's company for a sizable backyard project including a gas fire pit, retaining wall, lighting, hot tub with surround deck, and many plants with irrigation. The work, the workers and Ron were well beyond our expectations. Even when Ron was not on site his workers did a fantastic job and never slacked. When a change was needed it was made quickly and without additional cost. Projects that were added after the original bid did not inflate in cost as they have with other contractors. another very refreshing thing with Ron is that his numbers were always dead on and there were no gray areas when money was concerned. In a couple instances where an additional this or that was required there was not additional upcharge. Noteworthy is that one year after the job completion everything works and everything is growing and working. Very high quality work and would use again without hesitation. My experience with Ron was good as he was very professional in speaking to me about my concerns, even if we won't be doing business. My concern was the 'free estimate' statement on his website. I called him initially and described the (long) list of items I hope to build in my backyard. Marvin arrived at my home a few days later to view our yard and needs. The problem was that Marvin stated the price for the estimate would be $750. I canceled the engagement. Ron and I spoke later and my main point to him was that he should have been clear that my initial verbal description of what I was looking for meant a cost for just for the estimate work, even if I would own the drawings. We scheduled our front yard landscaping and are extremely pleased with the work that was done. Very professional - absolutely beautiful job complete with stamped concrete steps with lights inserted at each step, 2 trees, and a good amount of strategically placed plants.
