After multiple estimates and Yelp research I found Zoe Landscaping and it has been great to have Horacio and his team work on the backyard. He was able to put my vision together and gave us ideas/recommendations what we can do to our backyard. He's easy to communicate with, and kept us updated on the work. We bought a house in a new developed area, so it was a blank slate to start on. I had concrete, real grass, and a retaining wall placed. After all was done, the team cleaned up very well. My husband and I were looking for a licensed and insured contractor and charge at a reasonable price. We've met with other licensed contractors and charged $10k more, and for the same design I envisioned. My husband did his own research on how much items would cost and Zoe Landscaping didn't seem to charge too much or too little. Don't be fooled by contractors who say they are licensed but don't give a licensed number and have a cheaper price. We think his charge was reasonable and affordable. As far as the time the backyard being done, we were estimated that the backyard would be done in about 2 weeks. It took about 4 weeks, but that was because we had that one week of rain. Which is something we can't control. I felt bad, but they had to work on Thanksgiving. Overall, will hire again, and recommend to others. Thank you and great job! read more

Outstanding job re-laying our brick patio! This was a rather tricky job as some of our bricks in our patio were very old and some were newer. We wanted to keep our old bricks so Zoe Landscaping did an excellent job of leveling and re-laying our mixture of bricks. Quote was 3x more than what I eventually settled with. They may do great work, but instead of $18k I had it completed for about $6k. That's one hell of a markup. Now, I know I got a good deal, bc I shopped around and received multiple quotes, but I think a fair price shouldn't be that much higher. Why? It is very doubtful that anyone can 'realistically' meet my expectations.    After reviewing contractors from Angi, Yelp, Google and others, I quickly narrowed my prospective contractors to two after looking at some of their work and talking with owners and Company Owners or Senior Estimators in person; walking the property and throughly discussing each project and my expectations. I 'Always' have one last question and statement for a perspective company. Give me your "Best and Final Offer (BAFO) now." "I do not Compete contractors against each other." "Tell me what you will do; how you will do it; what the final project look like; and how much it will  cost. Finally  what discounts do you offer: senior citizens,  military veterans, cash by check or cash in dollars?    After getting "written estimates" from both companies we selected ZOE LANDSCAPING, the owner is Horacio [SP]. Our selection was further confirmed after telling the other company that we had not selected them. Within a half hour they provided me a second estimate that closer met my expectations and said "Oh by way, we found you are also entitled to another discount." I politely reminded them that my work had been awarded to another  company based upon meeting  the expectations and pricing. They went on to say they can meet my expectations at still a lower price. They are definitely a company I will never do business with.    It was really a "no brainer" selecting ZOE LANDSCAPING. They knew what we wanted and did it. They willingly accommodated change orders, and in some cases made recommendations that would improve the aesthetics of an individual project. Our work order had 6 (six) projects in it. Individually, none were extremely complex. They did require attention to detail, especially if I was going to be happy with completion of each project. Work left to be done is due to other things I need to do before some projects can be finalized. ZOE's work met or exceeded my expectations.    ZOE LANDSCAPING pricing was very reasonable. Individual project estimates were lower. With the other company each project cost was higher, but in some cases ridiculously higher. There total bid was more than $3,000 higher than ZOE; and that did not include change orders or one project they did not bid on. One item that we early on removed from the projects and decided to do ourself was to dig a trench roughly six inches wide and six inches deep, with a total of approximately 15 linear feet. (Note: the soil had been dampened down for three days to make soil removal easy.) The company not selected wanted $800. It would be laughable, if the price had not been in writing. My wife decided to surprise me and do it for me. Taking her time, she had the trench completed in less than two hours. )    But back to ZOE LANDSCAPING, Would I use Zoe Landscaping again? WITHOUT A DOUBT. THEY WOULD BE MY FIRST CALL! I WOULD WAIT FOR THEM, THEIR  SCHEDULING, TO DO MY WORK. Disappointed. They offered to do an initial clean up of our property. We still have weeds everywhere. They mowed the yard, weed whacked a few areas, sprayed Round up and left after one hour. I let them know for $350 we would expect someone to clean up the whole yard. I pointed out a few areas they missed before they left and their response was we would do it next time. They didn't touch our back yard or driveway and said my husband did not specify those areas. I let them know my husband would be calling them if he was disappointed. It's just very frustrating to expect a professional to take the initiative to provide excellent service and instead do the bare minimum. Was $350/hr fair for what was provided ? read more

Horacio's company was recommended to me by a friend, who had work completed by him. When Horacio first came to see what we needed done in our backyard, he listened to everything I asked about, and gave great advice in regards to my questions. Once we agreed on what would be done, I asked if work could be done by a specific date and he agreed. Horacio and Jorge were personable, and pleasant at all times throughout the course of the job. not only did he complete the work 20 days ahead of schedule, but he did extra work over an above our contract (installing water lines for drip systems, fixing a gate latch the wind had broken, prepping all the new flower beds with weed guard paper, adding drains to our new lawn area and hooking them up to our previously installed french drain system etc). For the concrete work, he made sure he was on site to oversee all the work completed. All of the work he completed was done to a high level of quality with a special focus on our needs. He took the weed-filled yard we inherited 3 years ago, and turned it into a back yard I cannot wait to fill with flowers and vegetables. After searching for multiple landscapers to install grass in our back yard, and the earliest start dates being at least a month out if not more, we contacted Horacio at Zoe Landscaping and he came within a couple of days, reviewed the project, gave us a quote within a day or so, and offered to start within about a week. Horacio and his team installed a small area of grass (~500 sq ft) as well as a sprinkler irrigation system in our backyard. They figured out a cost-effective solution with the irrigation and it runs very smoothly and provides good coverage. After sod installation, there were a few patches of sod that were dying quickly, and Horacio's team responded to our concern and within a few days were back and fixed the dried patches with fresh sod and solved the problem promptly. They were very responsive with questions via text. Even though there was some language barrier, it was sufficient enough to understand, but more importantly, they showed a genuine interest in making sure we were satisfied. I would have probably given them a lower score overall because the process took a little longer with having to replace the dry grass, but the fact that they care enough to make sure they've done the job to our satisfaction (even after being fully paid) goes a long way in this day and age, and for that I give them 5-stars because they did what it took to fix issues promptly and do a solid job. read more

Had a problem with water running into the street. I called Zoe irrigation and Landscaping to see if they could help. Horacio came out within the hour and discovered the water main had sprung a leak. Horace is excellent. His estimate was reasonable and for the amount of work surprising. We had pavers laid before but for several reasons the design just didn't work with three big dogs. Horace stepped in and came up with a new design. He moved and repositioned all of the old pavers and installed new ones to complete the design. Horace also did a great job of squaring up the pavers and painstakingly cut pavers to fill in spaces that had previously just been annoying gaps. Horace arrived on time each day and worked with his helper throughout the day to complete the job ahead of schedule. They cleaned up all of their work area each day before leaving thoroughly cleaned up when the job was done. I have others jobs that I am going to request Horace and his team to do in the future.
