My wife and I rode the trail and found Abigail's just closing and she went ahead and let us in for delicious left overs. We've been back a few times since and enjoyed it all. I seen Abigail's had closed and finally and thankful to see she's still serving food in Rochport at the General Store. We will now be making a trip there soon. Hope we get a chance to talk to her. This is a hidden gem in Rocheport. The food is delicious. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Fantastic place that bailed us out of a mega-fail attempt at dinner by a nearby Rocheport restaurant. While I wouldn't think of a place called the General Store would serve up dinner, they came through in the clutch big time. Their staff was SO freaking friendly and we loved the vibe in here. Pizzas, pretzels and salads hit the spot on our first night of a four day Katy Trail bike ride (250+ miles). There's a big downstairs that was lively and full of great live music. We sat upstairs overlooking everything, comically tearing into our food as if it were our first meal in weeks. I'm not sure the pizza was anything mind-blowing, but as hungry as we were it was perfection. We chatted with the servers a lot about the trail and Rocheport (my favorite town along the Katy Trail), and loved what they were putting out. I'd definitely stop here again for a casual night out, drinks or just to kick back after a long day. read more

Stopped by here to visit my sister and got their special: steak, baked potato, and green beans. The baked potato was piping hot and fluffy, the steak was very soft--I wanna say it was a meat pillow. The green beans have bacon and onion in them. They also are a cute little store with things you may need for The Katy Trail. The service is friendly and the locals that live in this very small town are very nice! read more

Ate here today to get out of Columbia due to Mizzou graduation crowds. The "general store" feel inside was neat/nostalgic, the staff was casual (but attentive), and the food was great overall. A big thumbs up for the lobster and scallop-stuffed ravioli with the poblano cheese sauce and the pastrami and caramelized onion panini was well-executed. We also had the nachos with carnitas (pork) and the fried cheese ravioli and both were solid. We had a chocolate raspberry pie for dessert and the homemade crust was great. The best part was the prices, which were very reasonable. Well worth the five minute detour off the Rocheport exit (or a quick stop off the Katy Trail). read more

Unfriendly staff, walked into restaurant, was not greeted by two staff members that walked right by my wife and I and looked at me like I stole something from them, secondly my panini called for bacon and it didn't come on the sandwich, when I told the waitress she didn't even apologize or maybe offer to discount the order. Sweet little town that felt like you'd stepped back into time...or maybe found "Mayberry?!" Darling community. Yummy sandwiches and close to walking trails and historic tunnel made in rock for the train that used to run through there. Curry chicken sandwich hit the spot and so did the cherry pie! Such a great place to pick up camping supplies for camping! Their pies and desserts are not only beautiful, but taste AMAZING. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious! I had the chicken curry salad sandwich and it was SO GOOD!. The General Store has a warm welcoming feeling to it with wood floors and shelving lining the walls. At night on the weekends they have amazing live bands and a wide variety of drinks to choose from. read more

This was a pleasant surprise stop while exploring the area. We ordered their deli sandwiches all around with dessert. The sandwiches were stacked high and tasty. Plenty of everything. They didn't skimp on anything. The prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere was pleasant and the folks behind the bar were super nice. They have live music on Friday and Saturday night. We each tried different desserts: pecan pie, apple pie warm alamode, chocolate cake and black walnut ice cream. Everything was so good. All of our desserts were might tasty. The homemade icecream was delicious!!! We will definitely come back. read more
