Breakfast burrito (bacon)

The food was amazing! The decorations and the inside was very clean as well. The service was okay, I felt super rushed when ordering my food but overall the breakfast burrito was awesome!

This place is such a fun spot! The food is really good and colorful and flavorful. Makes you feel like you're eating healthy and clean but also filling. Everyone in there was super nice and helpful as it was our first time in, and our food came out rather quickly. Definitely a casual and chill atmosphere.

First time here. we had the Sunday brunch option. It was very good and healthy. can easily be modified for gluten-free dairy free.

Menu from June 28, 2025.

We had a delicious breakfast at Beet Box. The Bodega BEC was perfection. Perfect bun, just enough bacon, tender and tasty egg. The black garlic biscuit sandwich hit all the right notes, with flaky pastry and tasty filling. But the highlight for me was the breakfast burrito (we ordered with sausage but I would get with shawarma next time). Tangy, spicy, creamy, crunchy, beety, packed full of fantastic mediterranean flavors. Unlike anything I've ever had before. Two big thumbs up.

This is your sign to go here!!!!! Absolutely incredible restaurant - super friendly staff, delicious/fresh food always, perfect environment with indoor and outdoor seating options! One of my all-time favorite places

Chicken schwarma wrap, Za'atar fries, pumpkin date latte

The food is ridiculously delicious. The employees are super nice and proud of what they serve. Inside is great but they have a small shaded patio area that was so relaxing. The meals are spectacular and so are their fresh baked goods. Excellent espresso options! I will eat here every time I'm in town.

First of all. I ordered way too much on accident. Second of all. Driving in, I definitely thought Google was trying to get me killed. I do not live in Columbia and was looking for a spot, not too far from the highway but also delicious. Once I found where I needed to be, asked a ton of questions about the menu. 2 recommendations, larger water glasses and a better menu board. The menu board was trendy and simple and made me feel like I needed more information, like Mindy, don't order 2 full size entrees. They have a great patio, I pick my seat and wait for my food. It seemed like it took forever, but my data was not working on my phone, there are only so many times you can twiddle your thumbs. When my food arrived I realized the mistake that I had made. Waaaaaaaaay to much food. Sometimes, your order 2 things because you want different flavors right? In this case my "gluten free" chicken dish had so much flavor I had 0 need for the salad. I put that in quotes, because it's not just gluten free, it's also low carb and probably the best GIANT salad I've had in a long time. I didn't take a good photo of the chicken, it had 3 different chutneys (I think) included in the bowl. I loved each one. The pickled tomatoes were a fantastic flavor punch and I really could have eaten just this and been so full. But, I was enticed by all of the delightful things on the squash salad. So I had to at least take a few bites while it was fresh. It was an amazing flavor combination and this also, would have been a full meal. I would like to add, I wasn't able to finish my leftovers until a few days later. The lettuce had flattened, sad but it happens. But the flavor was all still in tact. It was still amazing.

The hours are inconvenient but this place is so good and worth making the time to go try it! I really enjoyed the lamb and eggs. Came on a bed of a bunch of veggies and sauces and all the flavors worked so well together!!! The breakfast burrito was also pretty good but not as standout for me. The ambiance was decent, they have a little patio which is nice. Staff was all very friendly.

After my first visit, beet box quickly became one of my favorite lunch spots in town. I'm a sucker for middle eastern quinine, so having a spot to pickup a fresh shawarma and/or falafel wrap is ‍ The staff has always been kind and as mentioned the food is impeccable! The za'tar fries are by far the best in town. They have a fair amount of outdoor seating, so it's perfect if you're looking to enjoy lunch on a patio! Open kitchen concept, so you can see how all is prepared! I also hear the pastries & coffee are delicious! & they rotate Sunday brunch menus if you like variety!

Hummus breakfast bowl. Was yummy. Homemade pita made the perfect bite.

Cool place in a hip part of town. Our breakfast was unique and amazing. Such a nice change from the everyday. The chicken Schwarma roasting smells delicious. You can taste Persian in the spices and flavors. We passed on the donuts and pastries and that was difficult to do. They looked The Bomb. People were kind and fun who worked here as well.

It is a little hard to find this place. Some better signage would be helpful. I had the lamb and eggs which were excellent. I added the fries which had some coating and nicely done. The portion size is one to share. My wife had the falafel wrap and enjoyed this as well.

I love this place, I feel like it's one of Columbia's hidden gems because it's hard to stumble across. Once you get inside it's pretty small & you order at the counter. The food tastes (and looks) like it took hours to make!!! While I was looking around at everyone's plates today, every dish looked like a work of art. Very unique ingredients & combinations that you will not be able to find anywhere else. Another thing I love about Beat Box is their menu is slightly different everyday. They have a few staples, but even those get modified depending on what's in season or they can get their hands on. For example, I've gotten the hummus bowl twice now & both times it came with slightly different toppings. I love this because you can never get sick of the menu & it makes you want to come back anytime they have a fun, new special. Todays special was fish tacos which they sold out of those by about 12:30/1, so I didn't get to try them, but I was perfectly happy getting another hummus bowl. It was topped with brussels sprouts today & was sooo good. Definitely some of the best hummus I've ever had. Although it's a bit expensive, I think it's 100% worth the price. The quality of the food is amazing and the portions are huge. The hummus bowl I got today lasted me 2 meals because of how big it was. And I know I'll never find a hummus bowl this beautiful or topped with the same things anywhere, so I didn't mind the price. I also got a side of falafel that came out kinda burnt at first. The staff was super friendly about it & happily remade me 2 more that came out a lot better the 2nd time. I could tell they really cared & wanted me to leave happy. Regardless, their falafel is very crispy either way, but still delicious. It was really good dipped in my hummus bowl. In previous trips I've also tried the falafel wrap & za'tar fries. The falafel wrap is good, but I like the hummus bowl better. The fries are a must have, they are SO GOOD. They have different pastries everyday too. Next time I go, I'm definitely going to try one.

We had been wanting to try this place for quite some time, and finally got around to it on a weekday for breakfast. It was pretty crowded inside for a Wednesday. Everything sounded so good, so it was hard to decide what to order. The service was amazing, and everyone was super friendly. - Breakfast burrito with schwarma (4.5/5): wow this was so yummy! The flavors were so unique, and there was a lot going on but omg so good. The schwarma was super tender and cooked well. There were lots of sauces and veggies too, which I loved. - Lamb and eggs (4/5): this came in a huge bowl with lots going on. All of the different flavors meshed well in an unexpected way. The pickled vegetables, lamb, lettuce, sauces all complemented each other well. Super flavorful and tasty. - Zatar fries (4/5): these tasted very unique and flavorful. Love the tempura batter, it was semi light and not too greasy. The sauce it came with almost tasted like egg yolks but it was really yummy. Next time we need to get the hummus bowl! It looks like a favorite that lots of people were ordering.

I haven't found a good fried chicken place in over 25 years, and when I bit into the chicken and tasted their garlic mashed potatoes I realized that I had found the next best thing to what one believes grandma's home cook meal would taste like. The side biscuit was a treat to have and went well with honey or their wonderful jam. In fact, my husband and I are certain that their biscuits and gravy for breakfast must be wonderful based on their side biscuit. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly as well. I also noticed how quickly food was served for anyone waiting for their meals after they were ordered. I anticipate that we will be back to enjoy their other food options.

That said, the bacon definitely made up for it--thick-cut, perfectly crispy, and super satisfying. The real star, though, was the biscuit. It had an amazing texture--fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of structure--and the homemade blackberry jam was absolutely delicious. It added the perfect touch of sweetness and really elevated the whole meal. Overall, a good spot with some great elements. I'd definitely come back.

Ernie's was not on the list, but once in town both the bride and groom verbally recommended it for breakfast. The wedding was Saturday, so before I left town on Sunday, I filled my tummy with a classic breakfast. It's a popular diner, so there was a line out the door. I will say, the manager/hostess kept it moving. A Karen, cut past several of waiting a went inside and went to take an open stool. She was quickly sent back outside and to the end of the line. The hostess, then came out and told another single diner and myself to come and take which stool we wanted at the counter. Ernie offers 12 different combos for breakfast, I picked one that I thought I wanted. When I ordered and said to hold the buttered toast and give me an half order of Biscuits and Gravy. My waitress was so sweet, she said, nope. She said she was going to save me money by ordering me the #11 and replacing the French Toast with the B&G. That's excellent customer service. My Combo #11 was delicious. Had my eggs scrambled and they were super fluffy and simply seasoned. The three slices of bacon were crispy and the Hash Browns had crispy edges. However, the true star of my breakfast was the Biscuit and Gravy. The biscuit wasn't as fluffy as I'd like, but the gravy was top notch. I love pepper and it was extremely peppery which made me happy. If anyone is going to Columbia, I'd tell them to stop by Ernie's for breakfast. When I come back to COMO, I'm going to stop by for lunch and enjoy a burger. Dick Tracy, thinks about them all the time.

Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.
