Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich & Pretzels
    Sydney H.

This place was great! Our server was very attentive and personable, providing us with intentional recommendations. The food was pretty good too. The pretzels were fluffy and warm, served with a beer mustard, while the chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful. I hadn't been to a pub in a while but it was quaint with the wood interior and Irish flags hanging.

Very cute place with amazing food! Service was great and speedy! We had a beer flight - the 4 pack sampler. Good micro brews! I had the summer Brewhouse salad with grilled chicken which was savory and seasoned perfectly. The honey cigarette dressing hit the spot! Most of the salad was very fresh, with the exception of the cucumbers. Probably refrigerated too long and mushy. My husband had the FlatHouse Catfish & chips and said it was the best catfish he's had in a very long time! Come in, sample the beers, relax and have a great meal!

Veggie flatbread pizza with pesto sauce and artichokes

I was part of a very large party (20+) on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated quickly. The server was really great. He was attentive and efficient. The cream soda was refreshing. The flatbread pizza (pesto sauce with artichokes) was delicious. I really liked the crust. The only thing I'd do differently is to blend the pesto a bit more because I wasn't crazy about the coarse pine nuts or maybe it was garlic--no big deal. I'd come back here for sure. The Rueben looked wonderful--it was huge!

Great service here!!! Our server Annabelle was very nice and she was just in training! You wouldn't be able to tell she did great. The food was pretty good too. I like the option of raw veggies as a side. Nice place too a lot of seating inside and outdoors. The only thing I'd recommend is the owner should work on his responses to lower reviews. It almost put a bad taste in my mouth while picking a place to go. But I would go again lolll!

Flat Branch Pub & Brewing is a wonderful american fare restaurant with delicious entrees and freshly brewed beverages. We love ordering the artichoke dip served in a warm bread bowl. Flat Branch serves a variety of specialty pizzas, tasty pasta dishes, juicy burgers, delicious appetizers, wonderful desserts, and more. Flat Branch specializes in house-brewed beer, so you have to try one of the pints or flights! There is plenty of seating in the main dining area, around the spacious bar, and on the inviting patio. Flat Branch Pub & Brewing is a "Must Visit" restaurant in downtown Columbia, MO.

What a great find. I discovered this place while visiting the college kids the Friday before a big game. This is walk-able distance from campus so was able to do a quick campus tour to burn off the meal. Good choices of beers. The American IPA and Juicy Hazy hit the spot on one of the hottest days of the year. I ordered the Adobo Pork Burrito. Found in the sandwich section of the menu but felt like a healthy sandwich option. Walked into the restaurant hungry and found the burrito the perfect amount of food. Not too much food. Flavorful meat and fresh veggies. Must save room for dessert!!! The Tiger Stripe Ice Cream is a local ice cream and apparently made at Mizzou. Perfect to share at the table. I will make this place my go-to anytime I visit the kids.

Visited Flat Branch Pub & Brewing in Columbia, MO for a late lunch while in town for a Mizzou Football game. Naturally, the place was packed, and the service was a bit slow, but we didn't mind--we kicked things off with beer flights. Sampling different brews was definitely a great call, and once we found our favorites, we ordered pints. Food-wise, we started with some appetizers--onion rings were a hit--and then moved on to the veggie burgers. Now, I've had some killer veggie burgers here before, so my expectations were sky-high. This time? Still good, but didn't quite blow me away like I hoped. Maybe I was setting the bar too high! All in all, it was a fun time with good food and a lively atmosphere. Will I be back? Absolutely!

Flat Branch was said to be one of Columbia's best places to eat. Upon our arrival, we walked around the building to find the entrance. The hostess quickly greeted us and provided us a table on the patio. The patio had plenty of shade. The music coming from the speakers was modern and at a low enough tone to be heard, but not interrupt conversation. The atmosphere was laid-back and easy-going. Our waiter quickly arrived at our table and took our drink and food order. He then disappeared for the next 55 minutes. The rest of the patio had additional wait staff that were busy taking care of their tables. The long wait for food must have been unusual because some tables clapped when their food arrived as if they have been waiting as long as we had. After our food arrived, our drinks were delivered to the table. I'd love to experience this establishment again and be able to give it more than three stars. I believe the food would have been better if it was served hot. It had clearly been sitting on the expedition line waiting to be delivered for the bulk of the 55 minutes. I believe the one hour wait for food would have felt like less time had the drink drinks been delivered quickly and our waiter checked on us. New England-Style Crab Cakes: pub made genuine crab meat patties breaded, and deep fried. With chipotle mayonnaise... is what the menu reads. The 4 Silver Dollar sized patties were overcooked and crispy, unlike any preparation method I have encountered in New England. Served at room temperature on a bed of wilted arugula that led me to believe the patties were cooked earlier and placed under a heat lamp. As far as the "pub made" I can give the benefit of the doubt that "pub made" is the wording on the box the cook took them from in the freezer. If made fresh on sight, it wasn't this week. Southwest Chicken Taco Salad; grilled chicken, tortilla strips, lettuce, black, olives, diced tomatoes, cheese, ranch, salsa dressing. The salad was acceptable but the only nod to the Southwest was the tortilla chips. There was no salsa in the ranch and no southwest spices on the chicken. Flat Branch Catfish and Chips: Deep fried cornmeal, battered fish fillets, with fries and tartar sauce. The 4 fillets and fries were sufficient in portion size and the tartar sauce was an addition that was not needed, although delicious. Unfortunately, it was also served at room temperature. Flat Branch Pub Dip; thinly sliced "house smoked", certified Angus beef, sautéed onions, jack cheese, on a sourdough baguette. Served with Au ju and a stout horseradish sauce. The sandwich was terrible. The meat was cold, and was not smoked in that restaurant. The bread was stale. The fries were also cold. Our table had an empty bottle of ketchup, and when we asked the waiter to bring a new bottle, he brought another empty bottle of ketchup. Maybe Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm is the wrong time to try FlatBranch. We will try it again during a dinner service during the week to see if they can be redeemed.

    Their Honey Wheat.

When in Columbia I always stop by for a pint. They brew very good beers with many option's. Food is good too. Only negative is finding a place to park as they are located downtown.

The food was exceptional. The presentation was great. This place was delightful. The chicken sandwich and well seasoned fries were amazing. The service service was great. I had a wonderful time.

In for a quick stop so no in-depth review. Top service, pretty OK 5-cheese Pizza, decent beer varieties and reasonable prices.

Must get. The pretzels and the spinach cheese dip!!!

They don't take reservations but can accommodate large groups.

How is this place for pregame before Mizzou football?

It is packed with mizzou fans who are planning on attending the game. We went there during that time. I would highly recommend to visit this place.

Is (or was) there ever a gum ball machine out front before you walk in with something other than gum in it? Such as, dirt, dog treats, etc? Asking for a friend.

Yes there was. It was part of an art installation, and offered Seed Bombs, pellets containing native wildflower seeds. The idea was to plant the seeds around to help spread native wildflowers to aid struggling pollinators.

Do you have a kids menu?

Yes we do! Burgers, chicken nuggets, pasta and more. I'll try to get the menu posted to our website in the next day or two.

They brew their own beer and it was all super tasty. The bartender was also nice enough to give me a small sample of two of the beers so I can decide which I wanted to have with my meal. My friend and I shared a pizza, a platter of wings, and a burnt ends plate. First of all- I was shocked how good the pizza was. Given I'm originally from NJ, I'm a bit of a pizza snob. But it was actually quite tasty. The platter of wings was solid. Not the biggest wings in the world, but the plate came with a bunch and the sauce was really good. And the burnt ends were phenomenal. Super tender, lots of flavor. The place itself was very lively- lots of happy, talking people getting ready for the night. Certainly a place to come to feel "energy". I was certainly overly stuffed after this meal- would come back again!

The beers are top-notch -- from the easy-drinking Canned Good and Flor Blanca Mexican Lager to the rich Thresher Porter, they're clearly brewing with care and creativity. The food matches the quality of the beer. We've been here for brunch and highly recommend it -- everything from the eggs to the bread feels fresh and flavorful. I also love how many of their ingredients are sourced locally, which really adds to the quality and uniqueness of each dish. On this visit, we shared the fried cheese curds and the brisket grilled cheese! We also happened to stop by for a jazz night, which was such a fun surprise. The live music totally elevated the atmosphere and made the evening feel special. That said, there's still a bit more they could do with the space -- it would be great to see more regular live music or special events to bring even more life to the room. Prices are a bit higher than average for Columbia, but for the quality, atmosphere, and local charm, it's worth it. Great beer, great food, great people -- a solid 4 stars!

Very rarely have I had a meal here that didn't live up to my expectations. From Pizza to Burgers and everything in between my sit-down experiences have been really good, with few exceptions. The Brews available have been great as well, although they seemed to jettison the growler promotion awfully fast. In my mind a solid piece like a growler bottle is not only a collectible but it's free advertising since the customer paid for it. I'll keep politicking management to bring it back, but I'm not optimistic. They do serve 32oz Beers in freshly sealed cans (from tap) that are tasty and great competition for other spots closer to home for me, so there's that. Interior decor is stylish and memorable, and the multi-tier design helps sequester the bar area from the restaurant without being obvious in doing so. Bathrooms are eclectically designed and clean. They also have an adjacent spot in the same building for live music (think acoustic or small groups...they currently host things like Blues jams to decent turnout) So, now that the good things that carry the place have been listed, here are the improvements I'd like to see: Host and Hostess quality is all over the place. Ranges from wandering space-cadet kids to courteous young adults that unfortunately have a habit of hosing orders pretty badly. The actual wait staff and bartenders are fairly top notch when you sit down for a meal, so the disparity of quality on to-go orders I can attribute to the person taking the order. Toppings missing, order mixed up and someone else's meal were all experienced on to-go visits. It makes me covet the times in my work week I can sit down and enjoy a meal here (happymeter- near 100%), but obv that can't happen all the time. Unfortunately these are the things that can kill an otherwise great location, and the actual products here are *great*.
