The Spicy Rooster omelet with cheesy hash browns.

My wife and I were up at the lake for a special event. We searched for a good place for breakfast. We found the Rusty Rooster. The place has limited parking because it always has customers. The people were friendly, the place was clean and bright. The service was fantastic, Thanks Hope! The best part was the food. I had the Spicy Rooster and my wife had the biscuits and gravy. The food was delicious and piping hot. If you are looking for a GREAT breakfast or brunch stop, this is it. Tell them Santa and Mrs Claus sent you!

The Rusty Rooster is a fantastic brunch spot to check out near the Lake of the Ozarks. This breakfast restaurant features truly unique dishes and entrees. We ordered the pancake burrito: scrambled eggs with meat wrapped in a fluffy pancake instead of a tortilla. We also tried the cheesy grits and they were so good...we almost ordered a second one! The Rusty Rooster is a popular breakfast spot in the Lake of the Ozarks area and you might experience a wait on the weekend. Enjoy your breakfast at the Rusty Rooster!

Wow! What a surprise, this place was packed on a Saturday morning when we stopped by and all the staff was so helpful, 20 minute wait was only 10. Everything was neat and clean with fun inspiration messages all around. Service was outstanding, Graham, our server was super knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful, you should request his section if you can! I was boring and got the biscuits and gravy with a side of home fries, my bride got the quiche and both were good. The breakfast burrito in a pancake and the Monte Christo looked outstanding as well. We'll be back for sure to try them out. You could definitely share a meal portions are very generous. Parking is a bit of any issue so come early if you want a spot.

Stumbled across the gem on accident on our way home from the Lake of the Ozarks. Food and service were amazing. Pancakes were a nice size and my steak quesadillas were amazing.

Great friendly service! Food was delicious and arrived quickly. The Carmel Apple Toast was good almost like a dessert. Perfect if you have a sweet tooth. My husband got a omelette with hash browns and biscuits & gravy and had to get a to go box because it was more than he could eat. Only suggestion would be to add yummy coffees to the menu!

The food was great and our waitress was helpful and fun. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very quick with our drinks and food. It's not in a large location, so they do try and turn the tables quickly to accommodate more people. This is a great place to quickly eat breakfast and move on with your day.

First thing is when you walk in the ambience is so homey, the decorations are fresh yet still give a farm house feel; and the people so friendly & pleasant. It appears to be a local hang out as well as an amazing place for those passing through. 4 years in a row voted the best restaurant in the area. Thats a pretty great achievement! I love that there is a full bar along with coffee, kombucha( flavors fresh from the tap that you can get in to-go bottles in various sizes. They also sell a THC/Lions Mane beverage that promises a nice time. ( I bought the bottle @ $75 ) Now for the food; I ordered a ham cheese and onion omelette and chose an English muffin and a side of fruit. The omelette so so fresh and fluffy with the cheese shedded on top and the ham n onions cooked perfectly inside and piping hot. Fruit was very fresh. The menu has options for EVERYBODY from meat lovers to vegan/vegetarian. Everything I saw come out of the kitchen just made me hungry to try more dishes! I would love to go back and try the Crab Eggs Benedict made with REAL crab meat! Also the biscuits and gravy looks so appetizing! I would definitely drive the 3 1/2 hours back to eat there again! The service was spectacular with any of the staff willing to help make your visit the best. I really enjoyed everything about this place and highly recommend it! Thanks for a great breakfast!

The Rusty Rooster is my favorite brunch spot in the LOTO area! Great service, cute decor, and the food was top notch. Loved: the Mother Clucker. I added their aioli on the side and put it on my hasbrowns, which were so good. The bacon jam is definitely the highlight of the dish. Liked: it gets busy, so I recommend getting on the waitlist before getting there. We got on the waitlist and were immediately seated when we arrived which was great - so plan ahead

Out of everywhere we ate during our long weekend in Lake of the Ozarks, the Rusty Rooster was our highlight. After witnessing hustling and bustling inside this restaurant upon entering we were already convinced we would walk away satisfied. The wait was about 20-30 min during peak breakfast time, but luckily we snagged a couple chairs at the bar. Service was attentive, efficient and friendly. It was actually quite entertaining watching the controlled chaos of the restaurant play out from our seats at the bar. They clearly know what they are doing here and it was only more so confirmed once the food arrived. I ordered the farmhouse platter and everything was delicious. I even ate the eggs, and I don't usually like eggs! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy and that received the nod of approval. I have a feeling that no matter what you order they do it right here. Great spot. Will definitely go out of my way to visit when in the area again.

This place did NOT disappoint! Everything ordered was fantastic, their cooks get the food out QUICK, and the service is on point. The staff is friendly and attentive. I had the Spicy Rooster omelette...MmmmMmmm! My family each enjoyed their meals, and everyone commented on how awesome the hash browns were. Oh yes, we'll DEFINITELY be back!

A solid place to stop by!…read more We came during an extended weekend trip for lunch, drinks, and the pool. We were seated pretty quickly but this place DOES fill up fast (that includes the pool). The front has a place to order different t shirts from the wall then there's a small indoor seating area and a lot of patio seating outside. We ordered the jumbo crab rangoons, jalapeno poppers, and club sandwich. Although there was a bit of a wait the food was good and had good portion sizes which helps if you're there day drinking. Our waitress was friendly and helpful although a bit on the slower side with checking in and bringing items we requested. We waited about 20 minutes to get boxes and our checks. If you walk down the stairs from the restaurant there's the gated pool area. As it was summer it was packed even on a weekday. There's bars and bathrooms right next to the pool as well as a swim up bar. This was helpful since we had to get out to order drinks we at least didn't have to go far. Although it was a nice vibe I didn't enjoy that it felt like a hot tub especially in the summer and while drinking. In knowing a large amount of ppl come for the pool I would've hoped they cooled the water down & circulated the water better. Additionally a bit of added staff or security would be helpful to ensure ppl aren't getting ridiculous. I saw someone passed out in a chair from drinking too much and someone else falling over into the chairs unable to walk because of how intoxicated they were. Ofc we're all adults and should be able to control our drinking but ppl prove that theory wrong every time. It caused a bit of an issue with ppl & their stuff being trampled by ppl too drunk to walk and no staff around to help. For those who don't know the added another add on to the location off to the right side of the property. This includes a stage for performances which is cool! Although there isn't a restaurant like there is at the main pool there are food trucks which is a cool concept to get different types of food. Overall will be back to check out the other side.

Experiences have always had up-and-down moments, but this time was disappointing because I really wanted it to be great. It just wasn't. The Good: The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the waterfront ambiance is spot on. It's clearly the place to be at the lake--so good job on the venue. The Service & Atmosphere: Service was adequate, but far from fine dining. If you're charging premium prices, the service model needs to match. Having random runners drop food at the table without knowing who ordered what is diner or casual Mexican restaurant service, not an elegant dining experience. The new manager stopped by twice--a nice touch, until we actually provided constructive feedback. Instead of offering a remedy, he offered excuses about being new and didn't handle criticism well. The Food: Apps (Deviled Eggs & Tuna): Both looked like they'd been plated earlier in the day--they had an unappetizing "sheen" to them that made them look leftover rather than fresh. The flavor on the eggs was completely muted, and the tuna was equally lusterless. Salads: We split the Caesar, and our friends had the wedge. They were served without any offer of fresh pepper. When we flagged down a staff member, they brought out cheap grocery-store salt and pepper grinders. Later, we were told the new chef prefers not to offer pepper on the table. With all due respect to the chef: that's the guest's choice, not yours. (Side note: the wedge was tasty, but oddly wasn't actually cut into a wedge). Mains: The ladies had the Sea Bass--the dish that originally put this place on the map. It was okay, but not as good as it used to be; the new Asian flair and bowl presentation take away from what used to make it the star of the show. The pork chop was good and thoroughly enjoyed. My lasagna had a great portion size and good base flavor, but it was dry as jerky with practically zero sauce. The Verdict: The restaurant will continue to thrive simply because of its location and the lack of competing fine-dining options on the water. But when you're dropping $500 on dinner, you expect accountability and an outstanding meal. We won't be back anytime soon.

It was the perfect amount of food for me and a steal for ribs and wings. I tried the chipotle BBQ and I also loved this flavor. Still spicy, but not as firey as the original. But it was definitely lacking some pizzazz. One of these days I'll have to go back and try some of the barbecued foods... or the smoked turkey, which also sounds really good.
