Had a wonderful business lunch with my man Willie. We both had the burgers with fries infused with truffle oil. The reception and service are top-notch (Thank you Tyler!) A hint of old world charm. People overall are friendly. Rocco's could make me visit Newtown more. Last note: plenty of free municipal parking a block away. Now go have a meal here! read more

we had reserved a room suggested because we had around 14 people. we got there and had drinks ..... waited TWO hours for food! the help was obviously understaffed and a little snipy when we complained . when the food finally came, salads were mushy, sitting for a while in dressing, eggs were dry. so NOT ok. absolutely disgraceful and way overpriced. read more

Never a bad meal at Rocco's! Our waiter Jesse was outstanding. From start to finish he was attentive, helpful and polite. The dinner was outstanding as usual. My husband opted for the burger which is always a favorite of his at Roccos. I had the Reef and Beef special. Filet was cooked perfectly and just melts in your mouth. The lobster was great as well and a decent size. What I love about Rocco's that sets it apart from other high end steakhouses, is Rocco's gives you a salad and a side with your entree. I refuse to go back to Capital Grille for that very reason. With what they charge for the meal, a salad and a side should complete the meal. Roccos for the win! Desserts are amazing as well! Best cheesecake! read more

There is little doubt that Rocco's is the best restaurant currently in Newtown. This may change as there are new kitchens opening up almost weekly in the community, but right now, this steakhouse has it going on full bore. I had dinner there with son and his girlfriend the other night. We sat in the glass enclosed porch that rings the first floor. The space is beautifully appointed in colonial style, and white table cloths and heavy stainless flatware. It is a pleasure to walk through the barroom and dining room to reach the porch. From that perch the Newtown bustle can be witnessed first hand. We were there to celebrate several occasions that had gone unrecognized over the past 16 months due to Covid. We had much to be thankful for. Son o'mine loves his steak, and his N.Y Strip done medium was beyond excellent in texture and robust flavor. He cut me a piece knowing that this was not my normal diet, but that I was open to experiencing superior dishes. Yes, it was amazing, and it was easy to understand his attraction. I had to concentrate to appreciate everything that was going on in my mouth as I chewed and savored. His girlfriend went with a medium filet. It wasn't as juicy as the strip by observation, but she was clearly loving every bite of her medium round thick slab of beef. I went with the French Onion Soup and Prime Burger, knowing my diet couldn't handle a platter of solid beef. The soup qualified for possible the best of breed in a lifetime. It was rich, savory, onions, hearty beef stock, topped with french loaf under a thick layer of gruyere, seared to a near-blackened finish either in the oven or by blowtorch. The cheese had to be pierced to access the molten potage below, and to permit the superheated steam to escape. It was epic, and nearly a meal by itself. Stupendous! After all this, the burger was a bit of a disappointment. True, it was a combination of ground beef, short rib and brisket, topped with onion, tomato, lettuce and melted provolone, in a brioche bun. But, flavor-wise it was a situation where more is less. I didn't get off on the mix of beef. It just didn't taste like a high end burger. I like short rib and brisket at BBQ joints, but prefer them separately, where each of their distinct attributes can be appreciated, and not muddled together. So, it was disappointing after the star quality of everything else. The fries were standard crispers. So, Rocco gets a less than perfect five stars here. Despite the burger, the rest of the experience was top notch, and the bar/dining area stunning In an understated way. On a less precipitous evening, eating outside would have been a legitimate option, but despite the umbrellas, we would have had to endure wet shoulders from the tropical storm brewing outside. No wonder Rocco's is booked solid every night. It is truly a first class night on the town. read more

It was my first time here for a pharmaceutical dinner last night on 10/30/2019. I was pleasantly surprised. It is located in downtown Newton but it has its own parking lot with complimentary valet parking. The event was held at a private room that was cozy and reminded me of a private library with artwork on the wall. There were finger food: crab cakes, quiche and grilled shrimp skewers. I wasn't too impressed by the finger food...it was just ok. The main dinner featured Ceasar salad, N.Y. strip steak and original cheesecake. The highlight was the steak: it was a generous portion and cooked medium. The only complaint I had was when I asked my dinner to be boxed up, they forgot to include the mashed potatoes which was a bummer. And I didn't get my cheesecake so I have no idea what it tastes like... The 2 guys at valet parking (Andrew Coyle and Paul McGrogan) were extremely helpful and gave me directions for I-95 to get back to Philly. Otherwise, a solid choice for a steakhouse. read more

Pros: The food looks very Instagram worthy. Presentation and flavor are nicely done. We went on a date and got the poke bowl (5/5), vegan meatloaf (4/5), and lobster roll (4/5). Cons: The public parking and street parking fills up fast can be bit of a walk. Go with the expectation to pay for valet parking. The restaurant itself was packed and we got seats next to big parties. I don't know why they couldn't seat us in the more intimate areas as there was only two of us. Secondly I asked multiple waiters for some sanitizer, no one gave me anything. Our waiter came once to take our order and then she never returned again. The food was pricy when considering the poor quality of service, and seating area. In short, the food is good but pricy. When you pay good money then you expect good service as well. Their service feels disorganized. read more

This is a wonderful restaurant. Everything I've ever eaten here has tasted great. I've ordered fish, salad, steak, different sides... *everything* is good. I've also come with several types of people and have never heard a complaint. Service is attentive. They're great about allergy requests. The ambiance is nice. Valet makes parking a bit easier (and I love the "text to get your car faster" feature). Overall, as Gerald (another reviewer) mentioned, this is the best restaurant in Newtown for sure. It's also worth noting that the espresso is swoonworthy here. A friend of mine from L.A. came to visit once and tells me he still dreams about the espresso he got. read more

Given how close this place is to my house and what a big fan I am of classic steakhouses, I was really rooting for this place. Unfortunately, the meal was fairly uninspired. There's really not a ton to say about this place. Everything about is has that high-end steakhouse feeling (including the prices), except for the steaks. They weren't bad, but they're hardly worth what they charge. I suspect with the new Capital Grille opening up around the corner in Newtown their days are numbered. read more

Wow, wow, wow! Driving back to NJ from a lax game, we wanted to stop for a good meal. Needless to say, Rocco's 100% delivered! The wait staff (Bill) crushed it, the apps and salad were great and the entrees were amazing. By far the best Delmonico stake I've ever had(shh I am a food snob). Add to it a great drink and wine list. Kudos to the chef and bar tenders. Unfortunately, we had to get on the road but excited to return and experience it all over again with desert. Bravo Rocco's. Top 3 in my book!!! read more

We've been eating at Rocco's for about a year now and have become very big fans. Every meal we've had here has been excellent and we always leave very satisfied. The atmosphere here is cozy and welcoming, though it has just enough pomp to make you feel like you're somewhere special. I know the building was renovated not too long ago, but it definitely retains an old world feel and charm. It's also the kind of place that transports you. If you didn't look out the windows or note people's cellphones, you would swear it was 1920, and I mean that in a positive way. As for the food, it's absolutely top notch. We were told they were known for their steaks, but being a steakhouse snob I was 100% skeptical that they'd produce anything of note. Yet, they utterly nailed it. My 12 oz filet mignon was really sensational. It was perfectly cooked and had wonderful flavor. I also like their salads. The Thai steak and salmon nicoise are excellent. Today I went with the wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon and some beautifully seared steak and it was delicious, especially paired with my stiff and spicy Bloody Mary. Great combo. I really can't say enough good things about Rocco's. I'd highly recommend them for a quality meal, date night or any special occasion. Five solid stars. read more

This establishment is a fabulous (and boujee) steakhouse in Newtown. White peach cosmo was icy cold and stiff, just how I like my martinis. I always try the calamari when I see it on a menu and I feel like I'm a connoisseur now. The breading to squid ring ratio was perfecto along with the seasoning. Didn't even need the lemon juice, hollandaise nor pomodoro sauces. But I'm a natural food dipping kind of gal, so I dipped lol! Gf and I decided on the 3 pound porterhouse. The nice thing about the menu item is that it came with 2 steak sauce choices, 2 salads and 2 sides since it is meant "for two." Steak was delish as is although I did enjoy the chimichurri and bearnaise sauces on the side. Asparagus and garlic spinach accompanied our ribeye. The Caesar salad was dressed just right and tasted scrumptious! I am already anticipating my return. read more

This was my first time visiting Rocco's on a recent trip to PA. It is situated on the ground floor of the Brick Hotel, which legend has it is a haunted hotel (Ooooh! How's that for a good dinner theater? LOL). Food/drink: Ordered the Fra Diavolo Mussel Pot, Diver Scallop Risotto, and a side Caesar Salad to eat and some wine to drink. The Fra Diavolo Mussels were TO DIE FOR! All of the mussels were huge and the broth was full of spicy, tomato, garlicky, goodness! Also, the pot seemed to go on and on for ever, to the point where I think there were still some mussels that we had to leave behind (sheds tear **sniff**). The Diver Scallops were delicious, plump, and perfectly seared. However, the Risotto and the Caesar Salad was just decent...not bad, but not as good as I had hoped for either. Service: Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and had a striking resemblance to Henry Cavill (I kid you not!). He answered whatever questions we had and helped make the experience even more pleasant. Overall, this was a great first dining experience and I would not hesitate to return when next I'm in the area. read more

Food was amazing, service is wonderful, and the whole feel of the restaurant is great. Every time I come here, it is a very good experience.

My Mom made Lunch reservations for my Birthday here. It was the day after Hurricane Ida. Since we live about 40 minutes away, there were so many road closures that the GPS told us we would be arriving about 30 minutes after our reservation time. This stressed us out so much and worried us about our reservation being cancelled. Thankfully, when we called the restaurant, the employee who answered the phone was so kind and nice and told us that it was perfectly okay and to not worry about it. This alleviated our stress so much! When we arrive, it appears that there is a valet service which was super nice! The employee there was also very friendly. We arrive at the restaurant and it appears that most individuals are sitting outside, however, we request to sit inside. We got to sit on the wrap around porch which is my favorite area of the restaurant. It was also super quiet and hardly anyone around us, making it very secluded. It was amazing! Our waitress was Marissa, and she was very friendly and nice! She was super accommodating and even offered to take a picture of the whole table for us! I ordered a Malibu Bay Breeze which was DELICIOUS! (Probably one of the best Malibu Bay Breezes I've ever had). The bread and butter was also delicious. I ordered the French Onion Soup, the veal parm, and it also came with a Caesar salad on the side. The French Onion Soup was PHENOMENAL, my mouth is watering just writing this review about it! Definitely top notch and again, one of the best French Onion Soups I've ever had. The Caesar salad was also delicious and HUGE, the portion was much bigger than I was expecting. I wanted to finish it all but was starting to get full (and the veal parm didn't even come out yet!!!) The veal was so good and I saved half of it to eat for the next day. My Mom told the waitress that it was my Birthday and the waitress asked if I would like dessert, but I told her I was super full and was unable to eat anymore. She was so sweet and asked me if I would like to take a piece of complimentary chocolate cake home for later and I said yes. They even put a little pink candle in it for me!! Finally, the valet service is neat because all you have to do is pull up the link that the valet service texts you, tell them when you are ready for them to pull the car up, and then they get it!!! So when we came outside, the car was already ready to go towards the exit. This was such a lovely experience, thank you to Marissa for making it special and thank you to Rocco's for the incredible food and ambiance!!! read more

For Rocco's to be a solid 5 star at their price range, they'd need to button up a focus on the small but obvious details. Food examples - the French onion soup looked delicious, was way too salty. I'd imagine their regular dinner clientele to be somewhat weary of their food salt intake. At least inform the patrons ahead of time. Plus, as an admission by our server, he never heard that concern, but had been told that it is not always hot by the time it's delivered table side. Second, I do appreciate establishments swapping starches for green veggies. However in our scenario in place of fries I agreed to a Greek sale. Hint, traditional Greek salads do not include lettuce or hard boiled eggs. Very weird and a let down. Lastly, the servers, no matter the time of day, or meal shift, should be more attentive even if just a pass by check in as I waited until I saw the manager to request a water glass refill. Again, all the little details add up more so at this price point. Non-food Examples - clean up the visible cob webs on the lighting fixtures, clean or replace the $3 lamp shades on the small individual table lights; ours was terribly soiled with splatter stains. As for our meal.... Liked the French onion soup, fresh ingredients and was warm; just too salty. I described the sad replacement salad. Our entrees were the hit of our experience in way of food plate presentation and flavor. My wife had the lobster role which was packed with fresh tasty meat and I was impressed with the filet mignon French dip sandwich. The meat so buttery tender (no butter used) and cooked just fight to accentuate the flavor of the meat and the choice of dipping sauces. read more

This has always been our go to spot. Unfortunately tonight, we had a horrible experience with one of the managers. We spend hundreds of dollars a month here and would consider ourselves regulars. Since he didn't know how to schedule his reservations, we were met with him at our table asking us to leave because "his next party arrived". At that point we just received our dessert and after dinner drinks. To have been treated this way after all the money we continuously spend, including the $650 we spent on our meal tonight, is insulting especially because we were celebrating our 1-year wedding anniversary with our parents traveling from more than an hour away to be here. Because of him, we will be hesitant to return read more

Great food and service. They have vegetarian options and their Vegan Meatloaf was amazing!

Poor, poor service. I truly feel that Rocco's does not favor minorities. I came w my fiancé tonight. I did hear and see that other tables were treated much better than ours tonight. Waiting over 10 mins at the bar for a drink. Ok, I understand. I was a bartender I college. It's hectic. So. No bread offered at the table and only given after 4 requests. We didn't even know the specials until we heard the server telling to the table behind us. Water glasses empty when other tables were filled. Marginal is giving too much credit for service. Just awful. Food is ok but can get anywhere. Phila or NYC are not too far for the expecting quality. I live in Newtown. I live 3 miles from this place. Never will I ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Rocco's is a legitimately great steakhouse. I have been here twice visiting my cousin and the experience was phenomenal both times. I definitely recommend the seafood tower and crispy [fried calamari] for appetizers. The tower is plentiful, fresh, delicious. I love the raw oysters and clams, scallop crudo, and blue crab meat. The sauces are also great. In particular, the scallop crudo is ridiculously good. Crab legs and shrimp are also on the tower but I do not eat them. Moreover, the crispy calamari is awesome. My 6 year old nephew specifically asked to go to Rocco's for his birthday just because of the calamari. Of course, the steaks are great too. I have had the porterhouse and the Kansas City strip steak. I have gotten them medium rare and they have been juicy and chewy just the way I like my steak. I also recommend adding two Maryland crab cakes for $12. The crab meat is fresh and definitely from Maryland. The cakes do include some stuffing. Although the stuffing is very good, I still prefer crab cakes with all crab. Personally, one crab cake with pure crab would be better than two with a little stuffing as filler. Nonetheless, the cakes were great. Overall, Rocco's has become one of my favorite steakhouses anywhere. read more

Lamb chops are outstanding here!the Service was good, haven't had dinner inside as of now but it looks very warm and cozy.

Really wonderful food that is cooked just right every single time. The ceaser salad is amazing and I don't even know how a place could make an "amazing" salad. One would assume a salad is the same everywhere - but they have it down perfect here. My only issue was I called once about the dress code, knowing I'd be coming right from the gym and was told it would be ok. When I got there, it seemed anything but ok. Creepy comments from a couple drunk guys at the bar, which I know is not the restaurants fault. If you have the money (it's expensive) and want a meal that will be done correctly every time, go here. read more

Decided to check out the outdoor dining at Roccos for our anniversary and first night out after quarantine. We made reservations for 5:30 pm and was seated as soon as we arrived. We were there for about an hour and a half and the drinks and the food did not stop coming. Everything that we ate was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was ever better. We know that the restaurants are dealing with lots of new restrictions and I will say this place handled it very well. I was just there celebrating my birthday with my wife and my little dog we sat outside My complaint wasn't about the hour wait for a food to get to our table . My complaint is about my wife's order , she ordered a Caesar salad and wanted steak and they said fillet is not that much difference ended up being the total of $60 we could have just ordered the entrée and would've come with two sides and a salad and when I asked the manager, he said I should've known the price would have been $45 more and did nothing about it. When you first walk in with the hostess area , you'll notice a fire lights are dead which wouldn't pass fire inspection, & the exterior ,the paint is pealing off the windows and suffix which I'm sure paint dust goes into the food if you're sitting outside and they could care less about customer service. I usually go three times a month with clients ,unfortunately I cannot go there anymore because they don't seem to care . read more

We went pre-covid. We decided on outdoor dining, which was somewhat nice besides the noisy street directly next to us. In Newtown, you can expect a lot of loud flashy cars rolling by. It seemed like every 10 minutes, there was another loud BMW roaring next to me. Other than that, we were seated in the corner of the dining area and we had a direct view of employees on their smoke breaks. The cigarette smoke occasionally wafted over in our faces, which was unpleasant. Moving on to the food, I was quite disappointed. The food here is not cheap. We started with calamari, which was aesthetically pleasing, but tasted pretty bland. Next, we ordered an 8 oz filet mignon with horseradish mashed potatoes, and bernaise sauce. The filet mignon was more cooked than I asked for and was unremarkable. I've had better and more flavorful steaks from Texas Roadhouse for half the price. The horseradish was way too overwhelming, the mash was inedible. The bernaise sauce was okay. We also ordered a pork chop, which tasted like a salt rock. The amount of salt they used even pierced the inside of the thick meat. It too was inedible. Lastly, we ordered creme brûlée for dessert. The sugar was too burnt, and the pudding was such a thin layer that the burnt taste really pierced through. It was a shame. The only redeeming aspect was that the staff was extremely friendly. We had a great server who was fun and nice to talk to. read more

A first class steakhouse at very reasonable prices. One thing I really appreciate about Rocco's is that everything is included in the meal, it's not a la carte. I got complimentary bread, a caesar salad, and an 8oz filet with a fully loaded baked potato all for $32 (not including tax & tip), which is a pretty great deal for a top-tier steakhouse. On a Thursday night, the place wasn't very crowded, but enough patrons to make the place feel alive. We were seated right away, and as we walked in we passed some live music on the piano, but we could not hear it from where we were sitting. The complimentary bread was just okay; room temperature rolls, and not much variety. The French Onion Soup was massive, probably the biggest one I've ever seen. Not only was it a big portion, but excellent soup, and perfectly crusted cheese. The soup, sadly, did not come included in the cost of the steak. However, the caesar salad did, and it was so good. Again, a big portion, not just your average side salad. Tasty, and a really refreshing way to start off. The filet itself was delicious, and a perfect dinner portion of 8oz. Mine was possibly a little more cooked then I would have liked, but excellent nevertheless. It comes with a sauce, which I got bearnaise, and again, excellent. The fully loaded baked potato actually doesn't come fully loaded; the potato is cut, and all the fixins' are on the side, which isn't something I minded, just a note. Ultimately, what stands out at Rocco's is when you get the check, and it's significantly less then what you would pay at a Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, or Mortons. I'm not saying it's a place that you should go if you are trying to save up money, but for the quality of food, and amount you get, Rocco's is worth it. Excellent dinner!!!! So nice to get an amazing meal in the suburbs. We had heard amazing things, had to make reservations 3 weeks in advance, and the dinner definitely lived up to all the hype. We had oysters first-great and fresh. We both had steaks, some of the best we've had, love that steaks come with a salad (BEST Caesar salad), and a side. We had the apple walnut pie for desert too. Our server, Jill, was awesome-she clearly loves her job and the restaurant. Definitely a memorable meal that we will come back for! read more

I went to Rocco's for a double-date on a Saturday night, and the ambiance is nice inside and outside. We sat inside by the corner windows facing the intersection, and I was a bit warm where I was sitting even with the air conditioning (it was the middle of July). I had the 8oz filet mignon (medium), with a side of mashed potatoes, Rocco's steak sauce, and caesar salad. I thought it was a reasonable price for the steak considering it included salad, a side, and sauce. However, I realized about halfway through eating my steak (which was medium well not medium), that my steak was switched with someone else at my table (who ordered hers with a side of creamed spinach). We switched and I noticed a big difference right away, that the medium was much juicier and tastier than the medium well. The crème brûlée also was too thick and I didn't enjoy it. The passion fruit martini was right up my cocktail alley though, and service was great. Overall, I'd still go back, but with a medium steak and skipping the crème brûlée. read more

When you're eating in the vibe is great, love the service and the restaurant itself. But when you get take out you want to scream. I know from many take out orders - my bf loves the french dip - that you MUST double check the order. The chopped salad had 2 of the ingredients out of the 6-7 you're actually paying for. The bartender went back to the kitchen and corrected it... but when I got home I thought to myself, my college dining hall makes a better chefs salad. The prosciutto (micro tasteless ham chunks) were inedible. And there was a 2"x2" piece of lavash thrown in. Also, the beloved french dip had about a tablespoon of au jus in the to go ramekin... are the line cooks overworked, the kitchen under staffed...? disappointing read more

Another delicious meal. This time we came after a show at 9:30 on a Saturday night. Tables were open. Steaks we perfect. Back again for another delicious meal. We came back again in July 2020. Service was great and they were observing the COVID restrictions. The meal was just ok. I had the NY Strip and it was very fatty. Even fat in the middle of the steak. Wasn't a good cut. The Sea Bass special is ok. Needed some more flavor. We changed our review from 5 star to 3 star. Came in again during the COVID crisis. Tables were set up as every other. My steak was not good. Absolutely wonderful experience! Firstly, the restaurant itself is beautiful. It's modern but with a classic feel. We dined outside in their tent. It did get a little warm, but the weather is also temperamental at the time we went, so that's ok! I wish our remembered our servers' name because he went above and beyond our entire visit. The food was phenomenal! Even the burger I took home for my husband was devoured within minutes. We were celebrating a birthday and our server brought out a mini cheesecake for us to share, it was "mini" but it was actually a decent size tasting for 3 of us, and certainly big enough for 2 to share and have plenty. We will 100% be back! Our server mentioned to us that Sunday brunch is one of the best, so we will be trying that! read more

Do yourself a favor and dine somewhere else. My wife and I were recommended this place for from a reputable establishment in New Hope. As we entered the establishment, we noticed they had a seafood cart on their outdoor patio with fresh shrimp and oysters and a happy hour sign with pricing of $2 for oysters and $4 for shrimp. We asked the hostess if that deal was only for outdoor seating, which she replied yes. Normally, we like to sit at the bar, but we decided to sit on their patio to partake in the happy hour menu. Ed was our waiter, and he overheard our conversation with the hostess and corrected her by saying the happy hour menu is included at the bar as well, but we decided to stay seated on the patio regardless. We ordered everything on the happy hour menu with the exception of one item. We shared the oysters and the shrimp, which were good. We took 2 bites of the cheese curds and spinach dip, which were disgusting. Next came the tacos (2) and wings (4). They were gross and only had 1 bite. The buffalo calamari was horrible, as were the sliders. Our waiter Ed wasn't surprised when we commented on the food. His reply was, "It's happy hour food." It was our mistake from the start not ordering what we originally came to Rocco's for, but that response from a fine dining establishment was surprising. We were having a great day and didn't want to complain to management, but we decided to call the following day, and we spoke with a manager named Antonio. Needless to say, he didn't like our criticism and said they are known as a steakhouse and serve approximately 2500 patrons a week. We told Antonio we weren't calling about how many people they serve, the call was about the horrible food experience. Antonio just said, "Come back for the steak," and left the conversation at that. We did not have a food budget going out but this was literally 115 dollars of crap. The fact that everyone's approach and solution is oh its happy hour food is even worse than the horrible food. They should have told us the happy hour food taste like fecal matter and we would have just gone with the steaks! They are supposedly famous for the steaks but out of the 20 people outside I didn't see 1 person eating a steak. I didn't want to blast them with a horrible review but Antonio's lack of caring and rectifying the situation warranted the review! Save your money and drive the extra 15 minutes to New Hope! read more

I made reservations on Dec. 7th for my boyfriend's birthday at 7:45. We arrived at 7:45 and our table wasn't ready. We sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks. They came and got us an hour later, 8:45 to seat us. We ordered clams casino (which was very good) and it came in a timely manner. We both ordered filets medium rare and a bottle of wine. At 10:00 we were ready to cancel our filets as nobody even informed us that they would take that long. We complained to our waitress and she said the kitchen was busy. By that time, the restaurant was cleared out. At 10:20 our dinners finally arrived. My filet was great, my boyfriends was cooked medium. We were afraid to send it back because the first took forever. My cream spinach was so salty, I could not even eat it. What happened Rocco's? You used to be a fabulous place. Pretty disappointed. read more
