I brought a homemade pie and was told by the waiter there would be a $25 charge. I explained we were going to order dessert as well. He said he wouldn't put it on unless the owner told him to. I asked if he could let us know before we ate it, humorously. I had the single lobster tail with crab and it was better than any lobster in Maine. Not sure if it was 100% butter though, but delicious. The mussels came with oil on toast to dip. Not sure what was on it. I did request no oil in the mussels though as they use a blend of canola and olive oil and in the sea bass but not on the steaks, it's butter. The pork chop was the best he ever had and he gets them everywhere as was the filet mignon, short ribs, salmon but not the chicken. It was saturated in oil with soggy fries for $44. She didn't complain and gave it to me to go. The steaks look amazing but are way overpriced more than the Palm but people don't mind overpaying in Newtown. We were there right before it shut down. There was an issue with the landlord unfortunately. I'm sure they are relocating but always lots of drama in that location. Has a history. The restaurant before was on Gordon Ramsey restaurant nightmares under the brick hotel. The ambiance is nice. Although the private room was loud because the table next to us was talking extremely loud so we joined in. All three tables were there for birthdays.

We had some oysters as an appetizer and it was so delicious. Sweet, not too biney. It wasnt shucked super well so I had to scrape quite a bit with my fork. She has the truffle honey glazed salmon which she enjoyed. I got the veal filet which came with two 4 oz veal filet medallions, grilled asparagus, colossal crab meat, bearnaise sauce. I also got a side of mashed potatoes which were smooth and fluffy. The meat was very tender but the dish was a bit salty. Otherwise, the flavor was very good. Could use a bit more bearnaise sauce.

The service was top notch and super accommodating, and the ambiance of the place itself was cozy and upscale, but overall the food wasn't doing it for me. To start we ordered oysters which were fresh. They'd run out of Blue Points which were noticeably better from the other option they ended up having to give us since just three were left, which were just a tease at that point. The mussels were in a garlic and white wine sauce that was just too sweet and not really balanced enough, and many of the mussels were still closed or almost closed which I know better than to mess with. My steak special was the best thing I had here with mashed potatoes and crunchy greens, but even the au poivre sauce wasn't very flavorful. Still, my steak came out cooked just how I asked for it, and it was a good cut of meat. The waitress did say the kitchen was closing early that night since the chef's wife just had a baby so maybe it was just an off night. It was packed though so it seems like locals really like this place.

I recently went on a Saturday night with 5 other people. Three ordered the filet ($45.00), & everything is a la carte, so the small filet was served with nothing but a sprig of rosemary. The mashed potatoes & asparagus ordered were additional at $10.00 each. One guest ordered the salmon - she always orders salmon - & said it was the best she ever had. I wanted lamb chops & was lucky to find that they were one of the specials @ $55.00. I got 4 thick, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked chops, which was to come with a pepper puree, which I can't eat, but they were kind enough to serve it with a demi glaze. It was served with fresh green beans & and thin eggplant strips stuffed with something delicious, though I'm clueless as to what it was. Unfortunately, the string beans & eggplant were seriously undercooked & my fork could not penetrate either. That is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Since they have a very crowded & busy bar downstairs, they have a nice cocktail & wine menu, though I can't attest to either as I wasn't drinking. The lamb chops were memorable & I only wish I knew where they bought their meats so I could possibly treat myself more often. This is a fine restaurant for special occasions.

We were ultimately waiting ~15-20 minutes from the time that we arrived on site since we had put ourselves on the wait list an hour prior. Staff is super friendly given all the incessant "is my table ready?" questions that they get from folks. Things are pretty packed here but we got a table, and were helped and served quickly, and checked on regularly. Our table got the usual: Cactus Blossom, ~6 baskets of bread over the course of the meal, and individual meals. We shared a 12 oz. ribeye w/ ribs combo. Today it was actually not as good as usual, a bit more medium rather than medium rare, and the ribs were dry on the outer half. However, still a completely filling and enjoyable meal all things considered. Pro-tip: put the last bits of your Cactus Blossom in a bun with both butter and sauce for a treat that is much more unhealthy and delicious than you bargained for. To boot, we asked the staff to put our celebrant on the saddle, even though we weren't celebrating his birthday, and they happily fulfilled our wish. Folks here love a good time, even though they are probably easily clocking 30K+ steps filling all their tables.

Steak, Rolls, and a Birthday Win!…read more We were heading from Philly back to NYC and wanted something out of the city, easy parking, and REAL food. Nothing beats a good steak and a roll. Add the fact that it was my boyfriend's birthday the following day and he loves a solid steak, Texas Roadhouse became the stop. They opened at 12:00. By 12:01, people were already seated. On a Sunday!!!! The locals knew what time it was, and that told me everything. We were greeted warmly, seated comfortably, and our waitress was an absolute gem attentive, kind, and on point from start to finish. Love love loved her! Even accommodated my birthday surprise for my boyfriend. But listen... Norm, the owner or manager (forgot the title but may be both ‍), deserves praise. That man was WORKING. Serving tables, slanging salads, running food, checking on guests. I have never seen an owner or manager that hands on in a franchise spot. Ever! Shout out to Norm because leadership like that shows. The staff were wearing "I love working here" shirts and you could see what a well oiled machine it was. They sang my boyfriend Happy Birthday without the saddle as requested by us, respected the vibe, and made it special. He demolished the buttery rolls and said the peanuts reminded him of home. You even get a birthday scoop! The ice cream was delish. Ribeye? Perfect. Salmon? Delicious. Beef tips with all the fixings? Hit. Loaded potato? LOADED. Great food, great energy, great service. This wasn't just a meal, it was a moment. If you're passing through and hungry, stop here.

I have visited this spot at least 10 times and they don't miss. My wife has the Rye & Gochujang Radiatori. I tasted it and it was delish. I never thought to add gochujang to a pasta dish, but I will be doing that in the future. If you have room for something sweet, end your meal by sharing Brioche Doughnuts. Also loved the smash burger -- delicious and no pretentious frills -- but the fries were the standout; homemade, hearty and crispy. The pumpkin and pretzel casarecce pasta was very tasty as well, and the small-sized portion was plenty. Clearly the chef is talented and takes their work seriously. Given that they don't sell liquor & you can bring your own, the prices are fantastic. Cheapest dinner I've had since the early 2000s lol. They do have some N/A wines, beers and cocktails for those who don't care about booze. I could see this place being perfect for breakfast or lunch because it has beautiful views of the river. We came for dinner, and within 20-30 minutes, it was pitch black outside so we didn't get to enjoy the view. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner is too bright, which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem more like a takeout restaurant than upscale dining. Our server was great but the food took way too long to come out. It was about 30 minutes to get a salad. Not sure if they were short-staffed or that's just how it is but because the food was good enough, we will definitely come back to find out!

We came here to celebrate a retirement and were excited to try a Brazilian steakhouse experience…read more $65 for Full Rodizio (waste of $) They have a private room for large parties. First impressions: We started at the bar and when I arrived it was almost the end of happy hour. Nai the bartender was nice, just not very engaging. I ordered the passionfruit margarita it was okay, but the seeds clogged the straw, making it hard to drink. We switched to mango margaritas, which were much better just toooo much ice. One in our group had an old fashioned and enjoyed it. Salad bar / sides: This was honestly the highlight for me. They had a great variety: Caesar salad (very good) Smoked salmon & seafood salad Cold roasted garlic Rice and fried rice Pasta Oxtail stew (needed more flavor; too much fat on the pieces I had) A black bean and meat stew (VERY flavorful and hearty! my favorite) Fried bananas (just okay) Fried salmon bites (my friend liked them) Lobster ravioli (just okay) They had other options on the salad bar I just can't remember. The meats (the main event): This is where it fell short. Out of our group of five, only one person really enjoyed the meats. The rest of us found them Dry and Lacking flavor I tried the ribeye, shrimp and lamb--all were disappointing. I mean I only had a slither and only took a bite and didn't finish the rest. So disappointing. Service: This is where they did great and why they received the three stars: Brianna (hostess) was amazing!!! very welcoming, helpful and engaging Jonnatn our server was attentive and solid Chef Iago was also friendly and funny! He knows how to follow directions! Lol Overall, We had a great time celebrating, but the main attraction, the meats did not deliver. I wouldn't travel back just for the sides and drinks. If you've tried them I would love to hear about your experience.

On the positive side, there were a few cuts of steak that were genuinely delicious--perfectly seasoned, tender, and worth coming back for. Unfortunately, they were the exception, not the rule. Many cuts were just average, and a few items, like the bacon-wrapped chicken, were so dry they were basically inedible. My biggest issue, though, is the service--not from the gauchos bringing around the meats, but from the actual table servers who handle drinks, à la carte items, and checks. On my first visit (over the restaurant's opening weekend), we waited a full 30 minutes after finishing our meal without seeing our server. We had wanted dessert, but eventually had to go to the hostess stand to flag someone down. By then we decided to skip it entirely and leave. I figured they were still working out the kinks as a new restaurant, so I gave them another try. Unfortunately, this second visit with my family was just more of the same--very long waits to get our server's attention, long waits for food items, and when we finally asked for the check, it took a while to arrive. Then my credit card sat on the table even longer before anyone came back to process it. For the price point, the food isn't competitive with other Brazilian steakhouses in the area like Na Brasa, Fogo de Chão, or Chima, and the service falls well short of what I'd expect. After two tries, I think it's safe to say we'll be spending our money elsewhere.
