Hmm...puzzling to see just a 3 overall stars for Mt Fuji. My first time here and I loved it. I have been to many hibachi restaurants and felt "been there done that" too many times but 3 BFF's picked it and I went with the flow. Besides I am a local and have never been to this one and was looking foward to it. Based on the Yelp reviews I wasn't expecting much and lowered my expectations. But I have to say...in spite of the negative reviews, I was surprisingly impressed! We were seated at the Hibachi Table which seats 10. I ordered a sushi roll platter and hot sake. Everyone else ordered the habachi. I was squeamish when the chef put tons of butter on the fried rice and mixed veggies. A bit too much for my liking and was actually glad I stuck with the sushi rolls only. The chef did a few entertaining tricks as expected which is always fun to see. Portions were huge. I could not believe how many scallops were put on the ladie's plate next to me. The grilled shrimp looked incredible. But the standout was the steak. I tasted my friend's steak and it was Impressively tender and excellent. Seasoned perfectly. It was a Wednesday night and the place was doing a decent amount of business...not all tables full and once the animated group in the middle hibachi table left the place, got a lot quieter. But I understand it gets quite busy on a weekend night and is very loud. I like that my sushi roll platter came with both the miso soup and the salad. Many places now-a-days make you choose one or the other. I like both. My miso soup needed to be sent back as I like "hot" soup...it was luke warm. Once it was heated I thought it was delicious. The hot sake was very smooth tasting. It was a good house sake. The restaurant is larger than what you see from the street. It is located in a strange spot. It is across the parking lot from McGerks. There are a few business in the same small strip including a golf place. I can see people forgetting about it. ( I for one forget it is there). I do have one negative but not deducting a star. The staff was "not" engaging nor friendly. They were effecient and did their jobs however zero personality! For a local place they need to step it up in my humble opinion. After all it is a hospitality business. I almost felt like a habachi factory...too mechanical which is the main reason to add personality. (Hopefully this will be helpful feedback for the restaurant.) I am on the fence with 4 stars but the 4 of us had such a fun night and everything else was right on. Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. We have been here before and like the place. Ambiance is a bit dark. There are tables and a bar as you enter. There were a few patrons when we arrived it was about 445pm on a Wednesday. We sat at the sushi bar where we prefer to sit as we can watch and interact with the chefs. There are only four seats at the sushi bar. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc which always compliments the fish well. Another couple arrived and we had the chef all to ourselves for a while. The chef offered us four smallish tasting bites of fish and rice. A very nice start. We started with some Sashimi. Maguro, hamachi and salmon. It was quite good and fairly large pieces. The quality of the fish was very high. Next we got a few rolls - Mini sumo, eel lover and out of control. They were excellent and large rolls. Total $121. We tipped the chef generously. The food & drinks at Mt Fuji Hibachi never disappoints. The scallops are delicious and always so tender; grilled to perfection. They also have a sushi bar. The service tends to be hit or miss but always prompt. The chefs are always phenomenal. They are often reluctant to seat parties of two at the grilles but insist that you'll wait if you prefer your food cooked in front of you. Overall Mt. Fuji is one of my fav Hibachi restaurants. I'm not rating the food or the main staff currently. I'm here to give a reprimand and to say how absolutely unprofessional the bartender that was on tonight around 5pm was. I unfortunately did not get his name nor the manager on duty tonight but this was a Monday night at happy hour and the rest of the restaurant was almost empty. I felt like I had to try several times to get his attention, let alone place an order. The drink I had was the Choya Umeshu and I have a different review to write on that monstrosity. I decided to not order food since I was on a tight schedule, but that was of no importance to this bartender, or an excuse of one. Another MALE patron came in after I had sat down. *They received their drink before I even got to place my order for any.* It's even more egregious when I tried to pay my tab to leave. He was speaking to a couple, which the woman was asking about the white wines available. He was going into detail and her husband acknowledged me before the bartender did. I tried 4 different times. NO GOOD. He was making the man's drink and I still hadn't been able to pay my tab. I had to go to the well-mannered host to have him split my $20 bill into two $10 bills so I could pay for my $9 (aka overpriced) mediocre-at-best umeshu and not be so brazen as to DRINK AND DASH. This was the absolute worst service I've received to date, clearly because I was not fitting the usual demographic market and I am not willing to pay another penny if this sexist is gaining any benefit from it. read more

apparently raw meat is the new medium-well. Steak was raw and waiter didn't check in after dropping food off until time to get bill so by then wasn't even worth mentioning. Couple behind my husband was lowkey in a fight behind us or something cause they didn't talk their whole dinner so that was a little entertainment. I came at 5pm to avoid the crowds. Yay! Seated very quickly. Very cute water feature with Koi fish swimming around and cute statues and beautiful wooden table. You can eat at the bar or you can eat at a hibachi table or you could dine in a regular table. So I said I had a regular cable and ordered Takoyaki and salmon teriyaki. He came with a ginger salad and miso soup. The salmon was gigantic and very flavorful and tasted so fresh. Everything was flavorful and tasted fresh. Because of our last bad meal at Mt. Fuji, my wife and I had not been to this restaurant in a couple of years. However, some friends suggested that we try it again, so we had dinner there last week. Unfortunately, our experience was - once again - a very negative one. Mt. Fuji in Langhorne is dark and dingy and could use a renovation. The table service was satisfactory, though the manager was brusque and unfriendly. The food was even more disappointing. After a mediocre salad and miso soup, the server very quickly brought me my entree, which was a shrimp dish. In my opinion, the shrimp looked like they had been precooked, as they were tough, dry and barely warm. All in all, this meal was a disaster, and I will never return to Mt. Fuji, given that there are several better Japanese restaurants within a short drive. read more

I usually like to give people the benefit of doubt-but following us out of the restaurant so she could ask if her service wasn't good enough, because she didn't receive a "good enough tip" crossed a line for me. In my opinion the tip should have been less due to the hastiness and attitude. Tipping is OPTIONAL. Have gratitude for what you do receive especially with the service (or lack thereof). Distasteful and repulsive. Reading other reviews, we were not the only one she has done this to. Plan to empty your pockets for this clown or she will surely come looking. read more

I passed this place for 4 years and never even noticed it. However a friend of mine mentioned that the hibachi show was interesting, so we took the kids for dinner one night to check it out. Parking was abundant and the hostess took us back to the hibachi area within moments. However, it took a really long time for them to find the chef and get things moving, maybe 15-20 minutes. In that time, we were just abandoned by the hostess and didn't know where to go, so we just hung out and waited, which honestly wasn't much fun. When the chef finally started cooking the kids were totally into it and had a great time. For me, the show was decent, though it was far less intricate and engrossing than other hibachi experiences I've been at. The hibachi food was average, like a basic stir fry. We also got a few sushi rolls and they were really underwhelming and not well crafted. I really do enjoy hibachi and sushi but I probably won't return here again. My wife and I were waiting for our party to arrive at the bar. After waiting for about ten minutes and staring right at the bartender asking for a water about four times... he looked at me and ignored me. My friends had been drinking prior to my arrival and even asked him to get me a water and he ignored him as well, then asked my friend about the tip as if he was disappointed. I never got my water... Once we were seated, the lady taking drink orders was nice until we asked for separate checks. Two couples were told yes the rest (8 person party) she said no she was too busy. (After dinner she did split 3 checks when she should have split 5) With all that said, the food was amazing, and the hibachi chef was awesome but the bar tender and the waitress lacked serious customer service skills, and I doubt I'll come back here even if the food was phenomenal. If bad customer service doesn't bother you then enjoy the food, it's great... but for a birthday dinner, this upset the entire party. Right before I wrote this, I was brought my receipt asking why the tip was low, I explained it was the bar tender and customer experience and the waitress basically argued it wouldn't go to him and that it should be more. We've been here many times, and the experience has greatly declined. Recently stopped in with my family, and had to shuffle to our table out of fear of falling on the incredibly wet floors. They really need to do something about the ventilation, because steam from the grills ends up coating the crazy slippery tiles. I saw that many other patrons struggled with this too. There were really unacceptable hygiene issues with the hibachi chef that I won't get into, because I'm sure it wasn't intentional. Lackluster preparation. The female server, however, was rude and seemed annoyed just being there. She wanted to argue about giving me a second pair of plastic cups for my little ones, seeing as how the first set was melting from being set too close to the grill. Chicken was gummy and I felt all dishes lacked flavor. My sashimi was okay, not great or even good. On the way out, it was getting late and my little guy was starting to act up, so I got flustered and accidentally calculated the tip incorrectly. The waitress chased me down in the parking lot and insisted I leave more. Now, I never leave under 20%, because I feel that even less than stellar service should be compensated fairly, so even with that terrible experience I did honestly make a mistake--but that behavior shocked me. This was my first and last time in that specific location. The food wasn't that great and the service was atrocious. The waiter was making faces at requests and dropped couple of plates over the hot hibachi grill. Didn't even bother to walk around and deliver the plates properly. I love hibachi but this place is not worth it. I went here for a work gathering, there were 8 of us and we all got different meals. The chicken is spongy, and the filet was as chewy as could be. They do not give you a lot of veggies and they do not entertain you while cooking like most other places do. I don't think our waiter or the cook smiled once. This is one expensive restaurant. Fortunately, their food was well worth it. I split my restaurants into two categories; comforting and adventurous. While most of the times, I love my hole-in-a-wall home cooking spots, I do venture out to more fancy restaurants for a wilder experience. Mt. Fuji is belongs to the latter. The interior of the restaurant is really modern. Sexy lightings create a very cool and inducing ambient. The menu offers a huge variety of items. They also have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. Their bar design and cocktail options will tempt even on-drinkers. We ordered an array of food. There was a few of us and a bunch of sushi were ordered as well as appetizers and hibachi items. Since there were so many people ordering I can't really remember all the sushi names but in general they were all good. One of the differences here in their sushi is that the rolls are huge! Unlike most fancy restaurants that gives you a sniff for your buck, they actually feed you here. The appetizers were fun to eat. They're not exactly out of this world, but creative presentations make for a fresh experience. My favorite would have to be the hibachi. Their steaks and lobster were awesome. The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium and the lobster provided that flat iron crust without being chewy inside. I was full and happy. Great service, good food and drinks but really pricey. The facility is very nice with dark wood tones and adequate spacing of tables. The sushi area is to the side and kept very clean. The service is adequate, if not overly warm or informative. Definitely, a nice space to eat and socialize. The Hibachi is not much to my liking, as whether beef, chicken, shrimp or lobster, they all taste almost the same coming off the grill due to the heavy dosing with soy sauce. The flipping of food morsels from the spatula into the diners mouth is funny the first dozen or so times it is experienced, but gets old (and messy) after a while. This is not the place I would chose to have a delicious steak, as it is far from a Ruth Chris, Capitol Grille, or Walensky's experience. The rest of the menu is diverse and generally decent, but not outstanding enough to want to return more than sporadically. The presentation is done well, and the staff is prompt if not overly engaging with the customers. I have tried the Udon/Soba Noodles with Chicken or Beef and enjoyed them, although they were less spicy that I generally prefer. The Bento Boxes and lunch are a solid meal with Shumai, Tempura Veggies, and Haru Maki or other light roll as accompaniment. For me, Mt. Fuji is a good alternative place for local lunch or dinner, but I would not drive far out of my way for the opportunity. Thus, 3 Stars. read more

My original review was 3 starts and was more about hibachi. The sushi experience is much better and we have been going quite a lot. Sushi rolls are always very fresh and creative. We tried a few appetizers as well as the soup and all are very tasty. Service is excellent! We like how they use kids cups with lids for kids. It's the little things that make me happy. I recently went here on 7/1/18 for my first time, I am a huge fan of hibachi restaurants. I started off with a sushi appetizer which was extremely delicious, I would even say some of the best I have had around the area. I did not have the best experience with the Hibachi part of the dinner. First off our cook was not too pleasant, I'm use to a cook with a smile on their face, making jokes, and doing the little tricks the cooks usually do. Our cook went over our orders and went right to cooking, no jokes, no talking, and didn't really look up. By the time it was over and we got our meals, the noodles and rice didn't have too much flavor to them like other places. Also another person in our group asked for medium cooked steak and said he felt that it was basically well done. The sushi was very good, so good that I would definitely go back for sushi, but when it comes to Hibachi, I will be choosing the Hibachi restaurants closer to me. read more

Absolutely my favorite place to go for any special occasion (aka any day I deem special or am just in the mood for good food and drinks). Everyone is so friendly. David makes amazing drinks and is always coming up with something new and delicious. He always greets us as soon as we walk in and keeps us updated with any new drink selections he has added. Jack is our favorite hibachi chef and he always remembers us when we come in. He goes out of his way to make us feel special. On top of that the food is absolutely amazing!! I have a routine of getting Tiger Shrimp, American Dream Roll, and Filet and Shrimp Hibachi. For the money you spend and the quality and amount of food you get it is well worth it! Plus it's a fun atmosphere to bring family and friends. Just a reminder, always remember to tip generously, there are many staff members working together to make your experience great! read more

Came here with the kids for hibachi dinner, and they both loved it! One had the scallops (I can't believe she ate them...they grow up fast!) and the other had chicken which he liked. They were a little upset that they could not get the white rice option when they heard someone else doing that with their own kids, but it worked out. My mixed drink was nice but almost too sweet, and my seafood hibachi was quite good. Expensive, so maybe I'll pare down what I order again. It is OK. I went here recently and haven't been to Habachi restaurant in probably 5 years. It was good the chicken Habachi dinner comes with soup, salad, chicken, friend rice, and vegetables. I feel the quality of chicken used to be much better. I don't feel the sushi is that great here. I would recommend Oishi for sushi if you are in the Newtown area. The bartender David was very nice and attentive. A lot of children go to this restaurant now, so if you are going on a quiet date night, I would recommend a different restaurant. read more
