Very delicious rolls ... which I learned come frozen!
Meredith R.

Our intent was to enjoy the foliage -- which we did -- and have lunch in New Hope or across the bridge in Lambertville. Apparently everyone in the tri-state area had the same idea, so we switched gears and ended up in Newtown. As I'm a sucker for lazy al fresco meals, I wanted a restaurant with a nice outdoor area. Without knowing anything about Rocco's we parked the car and walked over, simply because of their patio. If you go for dinner, be prepared to spend. Lunch isn't too bad. While not quite five stars, lunch exceeded four. (My rating is based on the beautiful day -- which has nothing to do with the restaurant -- our unhurried meal and our friendly server.) T's hamburger was cooked exactly as requested, medium. I had a smoked salmon BLT. (Lox!) Pretty good, though I would have preferred a rare filet of unsmoked. Our meals were plated with an overload of seasoned fries, most of which are now in my freezer. I should've asked if I could substitute something else, maybe a small side salad. Our idea of a leisurely meal includes wine. At $45 the house cab was more than I like to spend, particularly for lunch. But it was good and I brought almost half the bottle home. From what I heard, reservations are imperative for dinner. Mid-day Sunday there was plenty of seating, indoors and out.

Greek salad

2nd time this week.... We celebrated my friend's birthday on Halloween with salads and desserts! Mmm of course drinks too! Then back again Sunday for espresso martinis and Caesar salads! The team is hospitable and welcoming! Hats off to Bob for his martinis and the sisters Jillian and Shannon for their amazing service on Halloween! We will be back soon!

Went with 8 people on a Saturday night and it was packed ... definitely need a reservation. Complimentary valet. Service was great we were sat right away for our 645 reservation. Our server was honest with his recommendations and timely. We indulged in oysters to start and they were salty yet sweet and a decent size. The Caesar salad, mashed potatoes side & 12 ounce filet mignon steak for 2 offering is great value and deliciousness all around. We Added two crab cakes on as well and we both thought they had a great amount of crab to cake ratio. The ambience was cozy yet robust and lively. Perfect for a date night as the steak for 2 option is definitely a great recommendation for any couple!

Out for an anniversary meal. We were seated along the glass windows just inside. Very comfortable and a nice view of the garden. We arrived around 6pm and ordered cocktails. They were brought promptly and well prepared. Service was excellent and well-paced our server was delightful. We started with raw oysters they were fresh, clean and cold. Mains were a veal dish and scallops over risotto. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine with the food. The mains were both delicious and we had some leftovers for lunch the next day. All good. Value was pretty good although at the high end. We left a nice tip. We will return. Nancy & Mark.

French Dip with Herb Fries

Any choice you make off the menu here will be a good one, however, if you want a tie curling experience get the French Dip! The blackberry bourbon mule was off the charts. Our server, Brian, was extremely helpful and very engaging and kind. The Bourbon-Glazed Bacon will cause you to lick the sauce off the plate also. No misses here! My party and I sat in the corner of the deck off the main dining area and it created a nice relaxing dinner experience looking over the main street.

It's clear that Rocco's is a neighborhood go-to. It is packed for happy hour and is a fan favorite for business dinners. They have a great, long bar for sitting plus a bunch of high tops. Additionally they have a covered outdoor porch which is enclosed and heated. For the food, highly recommend the French onion soup. It's in a crock and quite sizable. But more importantly it's delicious, one of the best I've had. Also recommend the mussels in the coconut Thai broth. While it's in the starters, they give you 33 mussels in an order. If you want a handheld, the fried chicken sandwich was sweet and crunchy, plus the herb French fries are an extra touch. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Solid meal, we will be back.

Vegan Caesar salad included with entree

Simply outstanding. Let's begin with the fabulous service - we were 30 minutes early for our 5 PM reservation and the hostess seated us when we arrived. It didn't appear to be busy, however, guests started pouring in as the night went on. We had a great view at our table; we faced the entrance and could see the fire pits lighting up the outdoor tents. It was lovely. Our waiter came over promptly and asked if we were interested in any cocktails. He suggested the old fashioned but those aren't really my thing, so I went with the Fall Spritzer. It tasted like a drink for fall but not in an overpowering way. I liked it. Another employee brought over a bread basket with two rolls and thin herb crackers with butter and olive oil. I certainly did not need to stuff my face with more bread, but I was celebrating my birthday so what the heck! We sealed the deal with the Avocado Toasts as our appetizer. If avocado toast and bruschetta had a baby, this is what it would taste like. These easy ingredients made a delicious starter that I enjoyed very much. My belly was almost exploding but our salads came out and I immediately got heart eyes. A vegan Caesar? Are you kidding me?! It had a bit of a lemon zest which in my opinion could have been omitted but otherwise this salad was slammin'. Couldn't even tell it was vegan. The croutons were warm and soft and reminded me of cornbread. The vegan meatloaf stole the freakin' show. Even the waiter was like, "I'll bring you a container. No one has ever finished the entire entree". I definitely wasn't finishing it but truth be told, it was spectacular - hearty and not dry whatsoever. The mushrooms were smothered in sauce the potatoes were crispy. I can confirm it was still amazing today, as I had my leftovers for lunch. Rocco's has been operating for 5 years according to our server. I need this establishment to stay open forever. We had a memorable time and can't wait to visit again.

Vegan Caeser

One of the best establishments in Newtown as it comes to food and drink. The food is reliably terrific. There is not much room to eat following the bread and salads which are offered with some of the house specialty entrees. The steaks are cooked perfectly. The vegan meatloaf, no not a typo, is amazing and for all to enjoy including carnivores. The veal parmesan would take a titan to finish... or me! Don't judge. Rocco's offers many craft cocktails and will mix up just about any drink your heart desires. They are known though for their martinis which are rather large. The classic is offered with blue cheese stuffed olives. My only complaint would be to not serve a variant of a cocktail if the correct ingredients aren't available. On two separate occasions an Aviation cocktail was ordered and delivered without the use of Creme de Violette. This "swap" is easy to detect because a properly made Aviation is purple where instead the "hack" was pink. In the past we have ordered and had a perfectly mixed Aviation and at other times were told they were out of certain ingredients and therefore ordered something else. The service is what you would expect from an upscale chop house. Friendly servers, water always filled, plates from finished meals promptly removed from the table, and so on. The reasons for a one star deduction has nothing to do with the food or drink. The dining room was 81 degrees which was too warm and can hopefully be addressed by management. Bottom line, Rocco's is a must when in Newtown and looking for a nice dinner out. Just dress in layers. :)

Food and service awesome. Private area (ambiance) for the celebration added to the event.

Amazing service and food. Better then the downtown big 3 steakhouses. The demonico steak best ever had. Will be going back ffor all big occasions in the fiture.

Filet mignon

Waited an hour and twenty minutes for this? Service was slow. Waiter kept kicking me every time he came to the table. We were seated next to two loud guys who kept cursing. We were there so long we had to take the food to go. In the end it was a great steak, but skip the dine-in and take it to go.

New England Lobster Roll with Old Bay fries
John G.

Stunningly superb suburban restaurant with polite, proficient and personable staff serving food that's impeccably prepared, plated and presented. Arriving at 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon we were seated immediately; moments later our server dispatched two rather extensive menus. So we asked for a few minutes. My wife ordered two appetizers; the Wedge Salad and the Avocado Toast--and raved about both, noting that the wedge salad was the second best she'd ever had (Peter Luger's in NYC is the best due to the thick-cut bacon). I sampled one of the avocado toasts and found it excellent; their idea to serve it on bite-sized crispy toasted slices of French bread was brilliant, and eminently sharable. Being from New England, I knew I was taking a chance ordering the New England Lobster Roll, but upon its arrival was immediately astonished by the leviathan lump of lobster perched on the quintessential split-top roll. Seasoning of the tender claw meat was subtle, or so it seemed compared to the lightly Old Bay-seasoned French fries. It's hard to compete with lobster, but these long shoestring fries were up to the task--delicately crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside and absolutely irresistible. In summary: Great service, impressive food and a beautiful, shaded patio on which to enjoy it. There's also a beautifully appointed dining room inside. We'll definitely be back!

They added a gratuity of 146 and I tipped an additional 160 on top of this accidentally.

The service was top notch and super accommodating, and the ambiance of the place itself was cozy and upscale, but overall the food wasn't doing it for me. To start we ordered oysters which were fresh. They'd run out of Blue Points which were noticeably better from the other option they ended up having to give us since just three were left, which were just a tease at that point. The mussels were in a garlic and white wine sauce that was just too sweet and not really balanced enough, and many of the mussels were still closed or almost closed which I know better than to mess with. My steak special was the best thing I had here with mashed potatoes and crunchy greens, but even the au poivre sauce wasn't very flavorful. Still, my steak came out cooked just how I asked for it, and it was a good cut of meat. The waitress did say the kitchen was closing early that night since the chef's wife just had a baby so maybe it was just an off night. It was packed though so it seems like locals really like this place.

We typically eat upstairs. Our server was pleasant but new for us. Greg the owner stopped by as he normally does and we had a brief chat. A couple of cocktails a spicy Hawaiian Margarita and an Aviation. Both were perfect. We ordered a dozen oysters two types and they were clean and fresh. For mains we got the surf and turf and 8 oz. Filet. All perfectly prepared. My side was the Brussels sprouts and they were great but different from what I remember. Greg said that the new chef added chili aioli. It was a good add. We had a bottle of the Barolo from the wine list it was very good great bouquet and went well with our meals. This place never disappoints one of our regular stops in town. Mark & Nancy.

Lots of the menu was pre-selected, and everything was really good. Bread box had a great selection of bread options, including a really good hard flatbread thing. For dinner, I chose the dry-aged strip, which was perfectly cooked. The server was also great about telling everyone ordering how their chosen way of cooking would turn out (e.g., warm w/ red center for medium rare), and it was all spot on. We had mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides too, both also really good. I wasn't able to finish it there, so I took the rest back, which the servers packed for me - wow.
