Capital Grille is a popular chain but they honestly had really good food. I went to a dinner here. I really liked how the Newtown location has so many different shops to visit around this area. The inside of Capital Grille has well dressed staff and I really liked the amount of space at the restaurant. I started with the bread basket. It was a mixture of breads both flat in nature and spongy. I also had a Field Greens Salad. I really liked the heirloom tomatoes and the taste of the Parmesan vinaigrette. For my entree, I had the Salmon. I really liked how the salmon came with green beans and these delicious cippolini onions. The onions were round and bursted in my mouth. The sides were delicious. The mash potatoes were super creamy and the spinach was the most amazing dish I had since it was almost milky tasting. The dessert consisted of Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake. I don't really like dark chocolate but I found this dish very interesting. I felt like the chocolate tasted better and different when mixed with a whip cream. This was the first time I've experienced a dish that tasted only good when each part was mixed evenly.

My wife and I decided to give ourselves a treat so we cashed in some AMEX points and went to the Capital Grille. As usual we are happy that we did. I had my usual Bone in Ribeye extra rare which was cooked perfectly. The gorgonzola rub made it even better. The side of wild mushrooms were fantastic. I love mushrooms with a good steak. But the creme de resistance was something we did not expect for $55 a piece, Capital Grille had their unlimited wine pour available. we both got it. We had unlimited access to 4 different wines, 1 Rose, 3 Whites and 4 reds. They were all great and one of the reds went perfect with my steak. The bottom line is the Capital Grille is a great example of an old fashioned steak house, and the wine pour was an unexpected bonus. We will definitely be back.

We had dinner here to celebrate my daughter kicking butt in life. Our waitress was Savannah and she crushed it. Probably one of the best servers I have had in this area. She made everything better. My only negatives are it was really loud and service was a little slow. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and we had to wait 20-30 mins to be seated.

I went here for my birthday and had a wonderful dining experience. The staff were very good. The only issue was the young man was so obsessed with making sure he cleared away dirty dishes and silverware that he took away my bread plate and butter knife before I was finished with them. The vibe was good, I really liked the decor and my wife and I laughed that we couldn't believe that this was a Pier One. We started with the lobster and crab cake. The steaks were delicious. Cooked perfectly as we requested. It is a rather expensive restaurant but well worth it.

We had the steak plate lunch with soup. It was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was lovely. I will definitely return. The waiter also surprised us with a free dessert because we were celebrating an 18 year holiday tradition of doing something special in December.

My first visit was a party of 5 in the dining room. I've eaten at many Capital Grilles over the years. Most aspects of this visit met expectations including the quality of the meal, the friendliness of the wait staff and the overall vibe. That said, this is a location still working to find their stride. The pace of the meal was off. Our second drink took 20 minutes to be brought to the table and their was almost 45 minutes between the salads and the entrees. It was busy for midweek and the wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Management was aware of it and provided complimentary desserts which was appreciated. Overall, a good experience that I'm sure will only improve with time. STRIKE ONE! UPDATE: My second visit was with a party of 4 in the bar area. Food taste was OK but again service was friendly but unprofessional. They made a mistake on my drink order using a bar brand instead of my specific premium request. They had to throw it out and remake it. Whoever brought the food to the table had no idea who ordered which meal and we had to move food around after it was dropped off. STRIKE TWO! My third visit was a party of 2 in the bar area. Again, very friendly service but unprofessional. The food drop again went wrong when she had no idea who ordered what and we had to call her back to move the plates since they were so hot. This time the food quality and taste also missed the mark. How does a kitchen let a wagyu burger go out on a burnt bun...to both of us. It's all you taste. STRIKE THREE! In summary, this is a restaurant that is poorly managed with staff that has subpar training. They can get things right occasionally as the mixed reviews show but that's their problem...total lack of consistency. Two of my three visits required a manager coming by to apologize and the third should have but didn't. Again, poorly managed. THREE STRIKES AND YOU'RE OUT CAPITAL GRILLE!!

Dessert

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Josh Kemp and staff couldn't have been any better! Pure class. From menu suggestions and a beautiful anniversary dessert, the evening was excellent. Steaks were delicious too! We are fans and will be back.

Service was incredible. Staff was very kind and attentive. They did a great job celebrating my husbands bday with confetti, card and dessert. Loved the ambiance old New York feel. Food was excellent - bread was very good (favorite was the onion), burrata app excellent (a little salty but I like it that way), I had the lollipop lamb chops and my husband had the filet with mushrooms and onions. We also had the truffle fries just wish they had aioli sauce but fries were very good. We will definitely be back - next time we will sit at the bar I want to try their burger ! (Not an option in the main dining room).

This wine bar is way too cute for its own good. My friend and I split the Truffle Fries and the Cheese and Bread Charcuterie Board -- I always finish my food and I could not finish this. Make sure you have 3 people to tackle it. Like another patron said, this place is intimate and loud at the same time. They only have one bottle menu somehow in 2025, so you might have to wait a little to see it. Just saying. I think they only had 2 people working somehow, but we didn't have to wait egregiously for anything. Overall, highly recommend!

I literally said to myself as I drove around Somerville that I wish there was a wine or cocktail bar for...mature people like myself to chill at. So I looked up wine bars and boom - VintEdge was right down the street. I came in around 9pm, picked a comfy seat by the window, and ordered. Can you believe I had never had an espresso martini until that evening?? So my first was a pumpkin espresso martini. Well I may have had 2. And another drink. Ahem. The service was great, not fussy, and I wasn't rushed even as we approached last call. Visit 2: having heard about my great experience there alone, my cousin arranged to meet me there last week. Or so she thought. Through a series of mutual miscommunications, I was here at the crib waiting for her, while she was at the wine bar waiting for me. Once we figured that out, she got us some food to go and we ate here at home. Verdict: -excellent seating options - stools, couches, chairs -food is so so good. Tartare, truffle fries. Fig jam pizza -drinks include awesome bottles and seasonal takes on old favorites This could be my new spot.

Here I go again--another French bistro I absolutely adore…read more Christine's French Bistro is everything you want in a cozy, decadent French spot: small, intimate, softly lit with sconces, and anchored by a beautiful bar you can dine at or just sip champagne and linger. Let's be honest--I come here for one reason: the soufflés. They are my kryptonite. Sweet or savory, they never disappoint. I've had the chocolate (rich, decadent, flawless), though I'm still chasing my ultimate favorite--the elusive Grand Marnier soufflé. One day... Beyond that: * Mussels + champagne = always a win * Service is warm and welcoming * Prices feel fair for the quality and experience This place has become part of my ritual when I'm in the area. I'll fly into Newark Liberty International Airport, hop on the Amtrak Acela, get off in Princeton, head straight here, and yes--plan my trip around a soufflé. No regrets. The location is perfect--right in the heart of Princeton, which is one of those charming, walkable towns with tree-lined streets and that classic, almost European feel. There's garage parking nearby, but honestly, once you're there, you won't need your car. Perfect for: * Date night * Dessert and champagne with friends * Solo bar seating (highly recommend) Bottom line: Elegant, cozy, and worth going out of your way for--especially if you love a proper soufflé. Life's too short not to eat well. Go make it happen.

There were literally 8 French fries on the plate and they were cold. I understand restaurants are trying to cut costs but potatoes are still cheap. One diner had the lamb special which was supposed to be served with a sauce but was dry and flavorless. The accompanying black rice was just there. The only positive was our server who was helpful and friendly. This is Princeton for Pete's sake. Most of the patrons have been to France and know good dining.

Not only was it a delightful experience for my tastebuds, it covered the entire plate. This was one of the few times I couldn't finish my meal. It probably didn't help that I had an order of their amazing bread and butter. I love the vibe at this spot. They serve top notched meals in a casual environment. I have visited this spot at least 10 times and they don't miss. My wife has the Rye & Gochujang Radiatori. I tasted it and it was delish. I never thought to add gochujang to a pasta dish, but I will be doing that in the future. If you have room for something sweet, end your meal by sharing Brioche Doughnuts. Also loved the smash burger -- delicious and no pretentious frills -- but the fries were the standout; homemade, hearty and crispy. The pumpkin and pretzel casarecce pasta was very tasty as well, and the small-sized portion was plenty. Clearly the chef is talented and takes their work seriously. Given that they don't sell liquor & you can bring your own, the prices are fantastic. Cheapest dinner I've had since the early 2000s lol. They do have some N/A wines, beers and cocktails for those who don't care about booze. I could see this place being perfect for breakfast or lunch because it has beautiful views of the river. We came for dinner, and within 20-30 minutes, it was pitch black outside so we didn't get to enjoy the view. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner is too bright, which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem more like a takeout restaurant than upscale dining. Our server was great but the food took way too long to come out. It was about 30 minutes to get a salad. Not sure if they were short-staffed or that's just how it is but because the food was good enough, we will definitely come back to find out!
