SERVICE: Sunday lunch is a busy time at any food establishment and today Roburrito's was packed. Our food prep took a bit longer than we wanted but that was completely understandable. The fellow who took the order was very helpful and friendly in informing us about what was available which was nice since the menu wasn't very descriptive. FOOD: I had the potato burrito sans dairy (to make it vegan) and it was good: flavorful and not dry. The texture and flavor of the potato was pleasantly surprising and the standard inclusion of guacamole suits my taste preferences. I would order it again. However it definitely was on the small side compared to what I'm used to at Neato Burrito (my favorite) or Seniorita Burrita (RIP). So don't expect to split one with an adult. The tortilla chips were fine while the salsa was a bit liquidy for my taste. Though they all went well with the burrito. The fountain soda machine was a bit confusing with hand made signs some of which weren't informative: "BRICKS"?! Thankfully "Cola" was clearly marked. ATMOSPHERE: The main seating area has two long wooden tables where you can share your meal with a large group or with otherwise strangers. I love this idea as it allows for more seating and the chance to bump into new people. There were around six other two-four person tables for more private eating and to accommodate those who couldn't fit elsewhere. The place seemed relatively clean and the recently remodeled decor (from the last burrito shop) works well enough. So why only two stars? The music. For the forty minutes we spent inside the music played was strictly a punk and metal influenced band with frequent yelling and screaming and RELENTLESS guitar noodling with endlessly propulsive drums. Talented musicians? Probably, but not the right venue with kids running around, people waiting for the food, and trying to make conversation in an already very live room. Frankly, it made the entire time tense. One song? Fine. But not for over half an hour. I'll think twice about eating inside again and instead opt for takeout. read more

Lowest Common Burrito. That is what I am thinking. The steak burrito had the flavor of Cream of Wheat. Bland. There seems to be a desire of the establishment to create a simplified menu where the burritos can be mass-produced, like an assembly line, with no flavor and no spice--as to offend no one but not astound many either. Aim low and keep it simple seems to be the plan. Wonder if they could at least allow the heat index to go up or down a bit based on customers' tastes like Indian restaurants do. The steak might as well had been tofu. Little cubes of protein. At a minimum, the meat should be grilled or at least cooked in a skillet. It seemed as if it had been baked or steamed. Which leads to little flavor. Maybe I missed the hot sauce. I did see some for sale but nothing available on the counter as a free add-on. The owner apparently has had burritos all over the States and lived in California for a spell. I was hoping for some creativity and some flair and instead got a neutered conglomeration of glop. First, the negative reviews I see about this place are absolutely ridiculous. They sound like they are written by people who only visit the big chain burrito places. And there is one that says "every time I eat here I get sick!" Um, stop eating here. And go to your family doctor for a check up. Excellent customer service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food is always very fresh. I usually get the small steak burrito. It's just the right size. I love all the sauces that they have available. And yes, the soda machine might confuse you for a minute, but it's not that hard to figure out. Great atmosphere (always fun music) just adds to the reason to visit. I highly recommend it. read more

Pretty unimpressed. Looked like a place with good burritos, plus it got pretty solid reviews. And I did like all the choices for sauces. My burrito bowl was ok, but pretty skimpy on the ingredients though. I probably should have gotten a burrito, maybe it would have been better. I kind of don't like to admit that I really like Chipotle because it is a chain, but I can honestly say that Chipotle is better than Roburrito, and kind of significantly better. Sorry, it just is. I walked into Roburrito's with no preconceived notions. I knew nothing of the place, hadn't read any reviews at all. We entered for one simple reason: It was the only place we could find that was open past 3pm on a Sunday. The dungeon-like front door opened into a warm, open space with an exposed brick wall and wood floors; a long bar stretched across the back wall. The background music had a punk edge. Part wild west saloon, part LES dive bar... the place had a hip-yet-dingy vibe that I instantly liked. A few staff members milled about behind the scenes, but no one greeted us as we entered, and there was no one behind the bar. We poked around a bit until we found some menus. It was pretty basic - burrito, quesadilla, taco salad, nachos. Eventually someone sauntered over to take our order. We decided on the Nachos Supreme and a Quesadilla with potatoes. We paid our tab - about $14.00 - and grabbed a couple of stools in front of the window that overlooks Prince Street. After a short wait, our food came out hot and fresh. The nachos were tasty and substantial - a huge pile of chips loaded with melty cheese, black beans, pico de gallo and guacamole. The quesadilla was good, too; well seasoned chunks of roasted potato added some substance. We jazzed things up by helping ourselves to the many varieties of house made hot sauces, which you can sample at will; Peach Warrior and Cuban Missile Crisis were our favorites. The food here isn't fancy, nor is it exciting... but they're serving up tasty, quick, freshly prepared eats at reasonable prices, in a cool, casual, and comfortable atmosphere. The place isn't perfect. The tables were dirty, the staff indifferent. It took ten minutes to figure out the cryptic soda fountain. We had to wander around the joint searching for silverware. And how 'bout a sign over the bar that reads "Place Order Here"? These things were annoying, and they prevent me from giving Roburrito's a fourth star. Still, I liked it. A lot. Worst experience ever! Specifically ordered a vegetarian burrito. I was first in line of 3 of my friends. They obviously forgot about my order because me buddies got their food and I waited literally 15 minutes after they got their food. I said something to the staff and they said they would go check on it. They had no clue what my order was and just made a mystery burrito. It had steak, and everything else I specifically did not order. Then the guy says he gave me chips because of the inconvenience. Well, I already paid for the meal which came with chips. When I showed them it had steak in it, the manager laughed and said he was really sorry. Really?!? Total let down and I will never step foot in this place again! I have been here for lunch and dinner and always have a great burrito. It's big enough that you need a fork and knife to eat it. Fresh, all good ingredients and no attitude from staff when you want to make substitutions. Always crowded at lunch but the service is very fast and there is plenty of seating. I have eaten here many times but felt the need to leave a review because of today's lunch experience. I left my wallet there by accident and didn't realize it until I returned to work. I was in town the same time as the touring musician (probably to see the show he was playing). Not sure what got up his butt because this place was AWESOME! If he waited 25 minutes it's BECAUSE THEY WERE VERY BUSY. Hard to get served when you're waiting in line behind people. Also, fastest I've heard of people getting food poisoning. Stumbled onto the one in Lancaster before a show at the Chameleon Club. Stopped in; wasn't sure about the menu since it didn't detail what was actually on the burrito. The guy working the register didn't seem like the type who really wanted to answer questions, so we quickly ordered two chicken burritos and two drinks. While our food was being prepped, I looked over the sauces. There were no bottles of the spiciest ones out, so I grabbed one of Dracula's Revenge. Food arrived (service was quite friendly, btw) and it was honestly one of the best burritos I've ever had! Chicken comes with black beans (and not too many, thank goodness!), rice, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, cheese and fresh salsa. It was fantastic. Added the Dracula's Revenge to it and it was completely YUM! Overall, it was great. The person I was with doesn't like sour cream, so I wish it would have been displayed so they could have had that removed. Decor is a bit hokey, but the food is really good. An acquaitance told me about this restaurant and told me that the service was subpar and the food was terrible. My wife and I wanted to check this place out, so we did this past Friday night. As we walked in, we thought it looked nice and the atmosphere seemed friendly. The service staff were casually dressed and were friendly when they asked for our order. The food, however, left much to be desired. My wife ordered their "signature" burrito, the "Roburrito". I ordered nachos. She didn't enjoy her burrito that much, and my nachos looked like they could have been made in my home microwave. And they tasted like nachos that could havce been made my home microwave. Probably won't go back here again, and won't be recommending it to friends in the future. This place is in need of a makeover on all fronts, but most of all, the food. A restaurant can look nice inside and look presentable, but if you don't have good food, you won't last very long. read more

This place is really great - it's a punk rock burrito shop. I've been here twice, ordered basically the same thing, and the quality and staff were consistent and fantastic. The guacamole was wonderful, the chips were warm, and I've gotten the "roburrito" (with both chicken and steak) and both were solid. But two things I love about it that make it stand out: - Sauces. All the sauces. So many sauces to try. They have a stand with a "heat chart" and sauces that range from sweet to flaming hot... - Price & Quality - it's a great bang for your buck. Our favorite burrito place in Lancaster! I used to drive 40 minutes to York just for a burrito. We always get the potato burrito with mushrooms and pineapples. Love their custom hot sauces, especially the mango and Pearl Harbor (pineapple) flavors. They have so many different flavors of hot sauce which makes this place so unique. We bought our favorite hot sauce flavors to use at home. The employees at this location are so helpful and nice. Every time I go in Roburrito's there is no staff to be seen. you have to wait for someone to show up at the register. I always feel unwelcome like i'm interrupting something. I think it's my Fault though because I don't have a beard or visible tattoo's and my ears have no holes. Plus they always screw up my order in someway. I will say the burrito's are really good and they come with chips and salsa. as most places do not. it's a shame because would eat here all the time. But now that chipotle is open i'll just go there even pay more just not to have to deal with the staff at Rob's. read more

Delicious burritos. Simple menu which I liked, variety yet simple. Lots of different hot sauces to try which is a neat touch. Tables seemed to need some more attention (weren't super clean and didn't see anyone cleaning in the dining room during our time there. Tables sat there dirty) but that kind of thing is common I feel like. Not a huge deal as I have a toddler in tow and ample amounts of Clorox wipes to remedy the situation. I'm from the southwest - born in AZ and live in SoCal, so I know great Mexican food. Knowing this, my expectations for great Mexican in PA are very low, so I'm basing this on PA standards. Roburrito's has a good setup and their sauces are really good. The food was fresh and I thought it was very tasty. I had a taco salad. My chicken was really good. Other people in my party had burritos and thought they were just so-so. If you're looking for a lighter meal, go with the taco salad. read more

Hot sauce was the best part; service was the worst part. Everything else was fine. First time there so I figured I'd order their signature burrito with steak. Burrito was fine - just the right size and everything tasted fresh. The steak was a bit sparse. Gauc was excellent. HOT sauce was great - full-flavored habanero, but not overly hot like most habanero sauces I've had. Like other reviewers, my impression of the service was that they were apathetic and bored, but honestly it doesn't really bother me that much. Yeah, the guy couldn't find the soda I asked for until I directed him to it and he let me order (pay for) hot sauce when - were he more attentive - he could have pointed out the free sauces in the dining area, but hey it's basically a take out place with a dining area, not a full service restaurant (i.e., waiters, etc). The service literally impacts like 5% of my experience. On the up side, the burrito came out fast and they brought it to me. I'll probably go back to try other hot sauces. read more

Eh. That's how I feel about Roburrito's. They have everything they'd need to make a good burrito, there's just nothing special. The sauces are a nice, unique novelty and they do add something, but I'd rather have the option of customizing my burrito as opposed to the sauces I accompany with it. While not being entirely authentic, Neato Burrito on Fruitville Pike has my vote. I appreciate the atmosphere in both locations equally, but the burritos from Neato Burrito just taste better, and there are considerably more options there. If you're wondering whether or not to try this place out, Here's my two cents: Don't bother. I was visiting Lancaster and decided to give this place a shot. The first red flag is that they charge a ridiculous amount for their add-ons. $1 to add lettuce? I was sure I was misunderstanding, as that section of their chalkboard menu seemed a little disorganized. When I asked the person at the counter, she was short and snobby with her response, as if my presence was a total inconvenience. The friend I was with told me that rude costumer service is "their thing." If that's the case, that's their prerogative, but it's definitely not something I care for in an establishment. The food wasn't any better than the service. I ordered the chicken Roburrito; the tortilla was terrible, and every ingredient inside was bland. They have a pretty huge selection of hot sauces, but I'm convinced it's to distract you from the fact they can't actually cook. Their sauces' heat index range on a scale from 1-11. The level 9 was the hottest I saw available that day, and ultimately wasn't all that spicy (not the end of the world, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the level 10 and 11 bring the heat way up). It might be slightly cheaper than Chipotle, but if you'd rather have flavor (or even just some lettuce), that extra dollar for a chicken burrito might be worth it. read more

We came here on Saturday and had a really solid experience. First off, the place was clean and bright and the staff was really friendly. We'd never been here before, and hadn't looked up the menu, so I was slightly surprised that tacos were not an option on the menu. I generally avoid burritos as they are too heavy and filling, but luckily they had a mini burrito option. I ordered the mini burrito with chicken and my fiance got the regular burrito with steak. We also got the chips and guac. The mini burrito was a great size! Not too big, but definitely sizeable for a mini. The regular burrito was not as massive as some other places, but in a good way. The chips were hot and fresh and the guac was really, really good! I hate when you order guac and it's more onion, tomatoes and cilantro than actual avocado. This was mostly avocado and no cilantro and super good! Can we talk about the sauces?! I love trying different sauces, so the fact that they have a whole shelf of various hot sauces at different heat levels absolutely sold me on this place. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area. I think I will get the taco salad as the mini burrito still proved to be too much food, but we will definitely be getting the chips and guac again! read more

I'm obsessed with this place. I went twice in a 24 hour period last weekend. It has a really good relaxed vibe. Be warned, the burritos are HUGE. You can easily share one with a friend for a super cheap meal. The ingredients are all fresh and delicious. I like how they have pineapple as an option. It was surprisingly good in a steak burrito. The nachos are also amazing. The guacamole is delicious. This place puts places like Chipotle and Baja Fresh to shame. We went with vegan friends and they were very happy with their meals are well. A friend of mine posted a picture of the Burritodilla on his Instagram account and I was intrigued. My husband I weren't in the mood to cook, so we thought we'd check out the new joint. This place already has a few locations in York, Pa., so it must be good if it is expanding, right? While I was on my way home from work to meet my hubby, he checked out the reviews on Yelp; as of this writing, there are eight reviews and more than half are quite unfavorable. We decided to go anyway; after all, I can do Taco Bell to fancy, authentic Mexican, so I rationalized that maybe those negative reviews were written from someone pickier than I am. At any rate, we arrived and noticed only a few menu items on the blackboard. We were second in line at this point, at about 6 p.m., and we noticed orange menus sitting around, so we grabbed one of those instead. The menu was not very detailed; I can appreciate a small menu to remain focused and get the food out quicker, but I didn't like that the ingredients weren't listed. For example, the signature burrito didn't list what came on it, but later on the menu another item says "same ingredients as signature burrito." So, I thought there could be more details. Since we went looking for another menu, we lost our spot in line and ended up behind four more people. Not a bad thing; I reasoned that if there's a line it means it's probably decent. As we made our way up to the line, we saw a stack of orange menus by the register. I chuckled because we left our spot in line for no reason. At any rate, the friendly girl behind the counter asked my name first, then my order. I was actually in the mood for ground beef taco meat -- I know, I'm cheap and easy to please -- so I was pleasantly surprised that the only meat options are steak and chicken. I went with the chicken - and I got the Burritodilla meal. My husband got the signature burrito with steak. After we ordered, we took a seat. The dining area is nothing fancy; your typical local quick-serve place. The music was a bit loud. Every time I heard the cook say "order up!" I thought my name was being called so I got up twice. Finally, I did hear my actual name and the counter girl brought out our order. My basket looked good; the meal came with nachos, salsa and a drink. The salsa was more like pico de gallo and was good, but hard to stay on the nachos. My Burritodilla (a quesadilla with burrito ingredients) was tasty; it was filled with seasoned chicken, rice, black beans and cheese. However, what I can only describe as a burnt cheese doily outlined my quesadilla-concoction. I don't think it was supposed to be like this; I would have been upset if all the cheese oozed out and melted, and then burnt, but there was still enough cheese inside. I felt like my meal could have had more seasoning on it; I think it's the rice and beans that make it more bland because the chicken on its own did have some nice flavor. Robburrito's does offer an impressive line of hot sauces, some barbecue-y and some fruity-y, to try and use on your food. The name of the brand is escaping me. I had the blackberry-something and hubby had the Texas Hold-em, and he liked it. The nachos were very good; I wish that there was the option to get a side of queso sauce like other burrito joints offer, The prices were very fair. Aside from the music muffling the order calling, my other sort-of-complaints are that the orders were brought out without silverware or napkins; after looking around, we found a roll of paper towels and canisters with silverware by the hot sauce bottles. This isn't a bad thing; I just wish the counter person would have directed us to these items rather than assume we knew. Also, this is one of the places were you bus your own table, which is the standard at most fast-food places, however, the trash can was overflowing at the time we exited, so we both got some of our condiments on our arms as we squished our trash down the small hole. The meals were between $6-7. Not bad. Overall, the place was not as bad as the reviews I had read let on. I think that the reviews were a good baseline and because I was expecting the worst, I was actually pleased. Since food is so subjective, I always try to give things a shot myself. My husband is a HUGE fan of burritos so h took me to this place awhile back and the food was good.. Burritos are HUGE!! I couldn't eat it all.. The chips that come with the burritos are good (my fav) I'm not a fan of the salsa.. Only because I like the saucy salsa lol.. The atmosphere is down to earth ( hipster style, scooter crowd) we have never came across any out of place employees.. Out of place I mean rude.. Staff know their stuff and bring your food to you!! I always say other people's ratings help but to me this spot is more or less a go check it out for yourself spot.. It's different.. I was very happy to stumble in here. I was hungry and needed a quick lunch before a meeting. Huge burrito. Very fresh and tasty. Great environment and decor. Simple. Mostly self service. I even heard the Gorilla Biscuits on the radio. That was a surprise and throw back to the days of youth. Solid choice for lunch. I'll be back when work brings me through next time. read more

A wecome addition to Downtown Lancaster! Roburrito's focusses on quality rather than an overwhelming amount of choices like some other burrito establishments. The burritos are a good size - a very filling meal, but not so large that you feel gluttonous after eating one. As a vegetarian, I appreciate that Roburrito's offers the option of adding potato to the burrito instead of meat (whereas other (but not all) establishments may leave you with only the option for rice and beans). When they're busy the food borders on almost taking a little too long to come out. Otherwise - great atmosphere and incredible hot sauces. I wholeheartedly disagree with folks who have called their burritos bland and or overpriced! read more

This felt like some huge prank. These burritos taste like nothing. Flavorless white rice is the main ingredient. They also do not heat their soft tacos so it's like eating a cold shamwow wrapped around leftover Americanized Chinese food. This place is so sad, I cannot understand how a place with burrito in its name cranks out "burritos" that so callously Shame the food group. Will never return, my boyfriend said, "I wish I was bulimic so I could spend those calories on literally anything else" after eating one. Roburrito's deserves every single star I'm giving it. Their burritos are pretty great and never taste like cream of wheat to me. Also, I love that guacamole automatically comes on the burrito. Where do else you find that? Probably nowhere. Most places are all about charging close to two bucks for a spoonful of guac and it sometimes causes the burritos the burritos to be overstuffed and fall apart. Not here though. The burritos are almost always perfect in size and I've never had one fall apart, unlike Chipotle where I've had that happen a couple of times and Qdoba where I'm surprised if the burrito doesn't fall apart. They also do a good job at mixing the ingredients together. It's not like one bite of just sour cream and then a bite with just rice and maybe a couple of beans. It's consistent. Also the sauces are so good! I think Pearl Harbor and Texas Hold 'Em are my favorites. Try those ones if y'all haven't. The decor is also great. I love the giant California on the one wall and I love the idea of peeing in dungeons. Also, the soda labels are pretty great. Some people on here are complaining about them, but some people also like boring things so it makes sense. Basically if you hate good food and fun, don't go here.
