We are an unusual AllTek customer because we are a software development company, and we use the…read moreAllTek system to host a complicated Microsoft Access database application that manages student records for about 40 colleges and graduate schools. Our combined user base for those 40 schools is over 400 users. During peak usage periods, we have almost 100 simultaneous users logged into their various databases. What makes us unusual compared to most of AllTek's customers is that AllTek is providing only our software hosting. AllTek does not manage any of the computers or networks at the 40 sites where our software is used (over the internet). Some of our sites have fast computers with reliable internet connections and good onsite support, and some of our sites have sub-par equipment and support. Adding more complications, our customers use many versions of Windows and some Mac computers also. We converted our customer base to the AllTek hosting system during May 2018, and it was a huge, difficult change. We had to work through many unexpected problems that were caused by Microsoft Windows bugs, differences between Access 2010 and 2016, and differences between Windows Server 2008 and 2016. The last major problem got resolved roughly September 15, 2018, and the system has run smoothly since then. AllTek did a top quality job of supporting us through the transition. Their lead technician (and owner) Tim Haner did a great job of working with Robinsoft's programmers and customers to get the various issues figured out and resolved. My rating of AllTek's customer service, problem solving skills, and their system's speed and reliability is definitely five stars. AllTek gives us great customer support, their system is quite reliable with very little downtime, it is as fast as most of the other schools we support that have onsite servers, and we're happy with the prices we're paying.

My experience with repair shop has been very unsatisfying. I initially traded in a laptop for…read moreanother from the shop. The following day, I had to return it because it was defective and unfixable. So, the owner gave me another laptop to replace that one. It is now 6 months later after getting it, I had to return that. He says that it needed more memory because he's the expert I followed his advise and paid additional money. Then upon calling him to get an update, he states that it might be a hard drive issue. I didn't get the laptop back same day as promised. Then he explains that it's a driver issue the updates from HP are not compatible with the laptop. He was unable to tell me year and model of the laptop. However, he says he has a fix for it. I pick up the laptop and the graphics are horrible and look very outdated. This has been most inconvenient as I work from home. I have essentially lost 2+ work days and have an outdated computer. Unacceptable!

After the repair, the…read morelaptop worked, but I later discovered it was running on a 128GB SSSTC SSD--a very small, low-end drive I never authorized or discussed with the shop. When I asked for clarification, the business stated they had diagnostic photos, hardware inventory screenshots, and a detailed report proving the SSD was already in the machine at the time of service. I requested copies multiple times. They did not provide a single photo, screenshot, or document. The customer portal they referenced contained only an invoice and the laptop's serial number. When I asked again for the documentation they claimed existed, the shop refused to send it and insisted they would no longer communicate in writing. They stated that any further discussion must take place only in person, which prevents any verifiable record. At no point did they provide the evidence needed to confirm their claims. My review is based entirely on written communication and the business's refusal to provide the diagnostic documentation they repeatedly referenced.
