I found Robin by looking on Google for a laptop security expert with knowledge of facebook and with great reviews near Richmond District of San Francisco. I want to report that I think I found him. Within a day after our contact, Robin came and spent a couple of hours during which he reviewed my laptop hardware and software, found a suspect entry point hackers probably used and removed it, improved system settings and security, and fixed a loosely connected battery, which greatly sped up the startup and shutdown. He explained every step he took. Which enabled me to remove the offensive messages the hackers left for my friends. Robin's fee was reasonable. I highly recommend him. read more

Robin was great and so kind. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to fix my laptop and found that the motherboard wasn't working. The only negative with my experience was that he said it would take 2-3 days to diagnose, but it took about 8-9 days. read more

If you are looking for someone reliable, helpful and knowledgeable call Robin. He will get you up and running in no time. I normally don't leave reviews but I had to make sure to take some time. read more

The wi-fi adapter in my 7yo laptop would come and go. I googled it and did all the recommended steps with no effect. I found Robin on google maps and emailed him about my problem. He replied really fast and told me that the easiest way to fix it is to buy an external usb wi-fi adapter. I got myself a $14 tp-link adapter on Amazon, and it works great. I highly recommend Robin as an honest guy with good expertise. read more

This is an overdue review. But Robin helped me retrieve the memory on my computer after I spilled liquid on it. I was able to dwliver the laptop to him 7pm on a Friday and got my laptop back early next week. He really goes above and beyond on service. He was constantly updating me on estimated time and what he was working on, the way my drive was formatted it made finding all of files a bit difficult. He took a lot of extra steps and hours to find all of the files I wanted to save and out them on a separate hard-drive for me. I can't say enough good things and truly appreciate his service. read more

Robin Prior is responsive, super-knowledgeable, service-oriented and relentless in finding a solution to clients' technical issues. I had a number of complex issues - in other words, my system was a mess. Robin worked diligently to address all the issues. These problems included: uninstalling and re-installing Windows 11; resolving issues with both Microsoft and Apple re iCloud sync of Contacts and Calendar; wireless printers not being "found" on system; setting up private domain emails on Outlook; and removing unwanted pop-ups. In addition, he gave me many suggestions on improving security as well as practical user tips. It is rare to find someone who can work across platforms and to address integration issues. Thank you, Robin. read more

Robin is the best! My old Macbook Pro crashed in the middle of Covid and curfew, Apple had no available appointments with their stores or their "authorized third party vendor"and I am so glad they didn't! I went through my business cards from back in the day and found Robin's and called and to my amazement he picked right up and offered to try to fix my problem IMMEDIATELY。 Turns out he lives a block away from me in the Richmond district and offered to let me drop it off at his home vs going to his store the next day, so I walked it over and we did the hand off with our masks in place. Incredibly he had it fixed by the next afternoon and the price was so astonishingly reasonable I am still in shock. I had spend sooooooo long trying to get some help from Apple (all afternoon) when I should have called Robin from the outset. This guy is honest, professional and a class act. read more

Working with Robin was a pleasure. He had an existing appointment that took up most of his day but as soon as it was over, he came to my business right away, even though it was late in the evening. Our internet and phones went down, and he was able to get us back online quickly and provided the equipment we needed on site. He took his time to explain how things worked and made it easy for us to troubleshoot through the problem should it happen to us again. During the process he was extremely professional and cordial. I would gladly use his services again. Thanks Robin! read more

I originally found Robin Prior Tech Support on NextDoor through direct comments by the community. I chose him because of the multiple and stellar reviews I found on NextDoor. And I am so happy with my choice. What a wonderful experience working with Robin!! I had several really complicated and intractable problems/issues with iTunes for Windows and iPods and the synchronization and desynchronization of various music tracks and Podcasts and simplified the way I am ripping tracks from my CDs to add to my iTunes collection. These issues were on various platforms and devices. His extremely wide knowledge of platforms, networking, hardware, software, really anything computer-related was amazing. I felt supremely confident in his hands. He helped me all the way through the repairs and changes he made and explained everything he was doing so I really learned a lot from him. Excellent communicator. He also guided me in deciding whether to repair or replace my printer and helped me select a new All-in-one Printer/Scanner/Copier and made sure I had the extra cables necessary for the installation and then happily delivered the new printer up my 2 flights of stairs with a smile on his face, at no extra charge!. He also helped me sort out some email issues. (He would be a great computer tech teacher if he wanted a second job.) My search for excellence in computer help has ended with Robin. I'm a forever customer. read more

Look nowhere else. I've called on Robin twice: once three years ago and again last week. Each repair was completed on time and within budget. What I really appreciate is Robin taking a personal interest in my concern. Three years ago, I needed my Windows laptop fixed, which kept spinning out and hanging on pages. It was diagnosed as needing more memory. The fix was fast and did the trick. I also appreciated the quick turnaround. I was back up and running in two days. Recently I downloaded a program which contained malware on to my new Apple MacBook. Robin was on the job and fixed the issue, with a turnaround time of last than 24 hours. I'm so thankful for this reliable service, from someone who takes an honest and personable interest to resolve and fix my computer. Thank you Robin. read more

Robin is my new IT department! I had issues with my desktop PC. After a few weeks of procrastination it finally refused to boot up. I'm a photographer so the business can't run without the desktop. I called a few repair places and Robin was the quickest response. He figured out the problems quickly, both software and hardware, and communicated throughout the process to help me understand my options. The cost was surprisingly reasonable and the work got done quickly. It's running like a top now and I couldn't be happier. read more

Robin has been my tech support for both my home and office for the past 10 years. 9 years ago he built a computer for my office which I still use as a back-up computer. Yesterday Robin updated my home with a Tri-band WiFi system which greatly increased both uploads and download speeds through out the house. He also implemented an automatic on-sight back-up storage system for all our home devises (in addition to the cloud). He is proficient with both PCs and Macs. Robin is trustworthy, skilled, pleasant to have at my home, and great with my kids. read more

I highly recommend contacting Robin for any tech support. He is very professional and repaired my MacBook in a timely manner. What I appreciated was how Robin kept in contact with me about the status of my computer; pricing was very reasonable and cheaper than what it would have cost me anywhere else. I know that if I ever have any issues with my computer the first person that I am going to get in contact with will be Robin. He is very knowledgable about this field, and is also able to describe the issues in an understandable manner. read more

In Finland for a meeting, my laptop computer crashed after giving me a cryptic message in plain text--"Could not find an operating system" then it shut down for good. That is, until I found Robin (in my hood) Prior when I got back in a Google search of Outer Richmond District computer fixers. Robin looked the best. I must say, that Robin was very responsive, accommodating and thorough. He came by my house and picked up my lap top. He communicated through out the diagnosis and checked in regularly on options for purchasing hardware. He fixed my old lap- top and we juiced it up. Robin was very understanding of my quirky needs and gave me exactly what I needed and then delivered the lap top back to me at my home! I highly recommend Robin for all IT related work. I know I will probably use him again soon. read more

I'm very glad I found Robin for tech support and highly recommend him. He came to me through a recommendation on NextDoor.com. He will work on your computer remotely if you want that additional support, and he was always responsive with ideas and support over the phone. read more

Robin is exactly the kind of IT person I have been looking for. He is extremely trustworthy, hard working, honest and a pleasure to deal with. I had an extremely difficult issue with my Outlook/comcast emails, and it took several very long attempts to fix it in conjunction with the Microsoft technical support. Robin was there and committed until it was fixed. He spent many hours on the phone with Microsoft over several days, working into the evening and early in the morning, and in the end he counted the number of emails in each of my folders and made sure that they were all there before he would sign off on the project. He was absolutely amazing. When it came time to charge me, he charged me a flat fee - which amounted to MUCH less that what it would have costed if he had charged me by the hour. The whole experience made me feel like this is the guy I want to handle all of my IT and Tech support needs. I HIGHLY recommend him! read more

Robin brought my late 2011 13" Macbook Pro back to blistering speed quickly and at low cost. The upgrade: 16GB memory and a 500 GB SSD. He went out of his way to meet me in San Francisco to drop off and pick up the Mac. He also made sure that the OS install was flawless. While I have new Macs available to me at work, I am grateful to have a personal machine yanked back from the abyss and into daily usage. But I am not surprised. Robin built a PC for me in 1994 and from then until now his understanding of hardware and tech solutions has been cutting edge and his implementation has always been without a hitch. He is also a jargon-free teacher which makes any comments of his easy to understand. He's a real find. read more
