Since moving to Texas, I've been craving super fries, and there aren't many places that do them like in SoCal. This spot, however, hits the mark. The super fries and the machaca burrito were both delicious. Beans don't come with either of them, so I added them. They're generous with the carne asada too, which is always a big plus! The staff was super friendly and quick, making the overall experience pleasant. The only downside for me was the salsa. The green salsa was better than the red, and the orange salsa was the best of the three, but overall they were a bit salty and bland for my taste. Because of that, I personally wouldn't use their salsa and would bring my own.
Carne aasada burrito was packed with meat.. love the fresh quacamole on the rolls tacos. Would come back in for a late night craving for Mex food. Drive thru is convenient
My daughter brought me this one day because I've been wanting to try it but I haven't been wanting to leave the house. I ordered the guacamole rollups! They were amazing. My daughter ordered the same & she was a little disappointed because she thought it was coming with beans & rice where I understood the menu. LOL. She didn't care after the 1st bite is all she kept saying was this is really delicious, I didn't expect it to be so good. I was right there with her. Even though they put an amazingly delicious & perfect amount of guacamole on top of the rollups (taquitos de pollo), you would think they would get soggy. Nope not these hulk of rollups, they stay hard & flavorful till the last bite. I would highly recommend this dish. Even this place. Try everything at least once but definitely try this dish. Only thing they don't serve sweet tea!
Do not go to this Robertos, it is not consistent with the other locations, like the one in Temple which is like those in San Diego, Ocean Beach to be exact. This is bad. If I want to pay $16 for what I got I would went to chipotle or freebirds. When, I explained the inconsistency I was told this is what the owner wants done in Texas because they already charge more in California. No wonder this location has the worst reviews
Calling all Southern Cali transplants or those who've spent time there--this is the place for you! Roberto's brings the genuine Southern California taco shop experience straight to Texas. The food is absolutely stellar and tastes exactly like you're at one of your faves back in Cali. The only thing missing was a Cactus Cooler in the fridge!
Small little spot but it packs a punch! Great burritos and tacos and large portions of food for a great price. Totally worth it in this area. After church my friend and I wanted some tacos and came upon this place. Service was great! Guy helped us choose and it met our cravings. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by! Till then, let's eat!!!
I grew up in Southern California, but I've been gone for 30 years. So I was excited to try my hometown amazing Mexican shop. Keep in mind there's only two tables and five seats of the bar. More than likely, you'll have to get it to go or eat in the car like a lot of people do. We got two Carne Asada burritos and our order of the Asada fries and two extra large sodas, all for $40. Let me tell you it was just as good as I remembered it. The tortillas are brought in from California and the Asada is amazing.

We picked up the meal to go as the dining area is quaint . 2 booths and a small bar top seating for 4 people. Wished we had more than 1 green and 1 red salsa for our order.
PEOPLE!! PEOPLE!!! Everyone always get excited when California chain like In n Out come to town but how are people not talking about Roberto's coming to town?!?!?! I grew up four blocks from my Roberto's in Del Mar and now they are here. The clouds have parted and the heavens have opened and the angels are singing!! I drove 35 minutes to get here and see if it stayed true to home AND IT WAS! The rolled tacos are spot on fantastic. I can't describe perfection but just take my word and get an order! We also got the carne asada plate and it was so good. Just like home. The beans and rice were good as well but the beans didn't remind me exactly as i had remembered. I also suggest the cheese quesadilla! They have a dual drive through to help server you quickly. They are very small inside and only have two tables and one counter that can seat about five. They do have a few tables outside. Everyone must go here NOW. You can thank me later.

Came in to check this place out since I used to live in SoCal. I ordered the Cali Surf and Turf burrito. It was super good. Shrimp and steak cooked perfectly and the flavors were on point. The service was great. Food comes out hot and fast! The salsas were below average to me with low flavor profile. That's why I can only give a 4 star. If they step that sauce game up it'll be a 5 star. Recommendations: offer that cream sauce/ avocado salsa with more spice. Valarie's taco shop sauces are fire.
Solid Mexican spot that comes from California without the California prices. It's a small, unassuming spot that looks like it was a former Wienerschnitzel or fast food joint with waitstaff that is super helpful and friendly. Got a few different things to try and none of them disappointed. In particular, the asada and carnitas burritos were delicious and packed full of meat. Food comes out relatively quickly and there's a few parking spaces right up front. Only thing I regret is not having enough stomach space to try more. read more
Had an awesome experience at Roberto's Taco Shop. I ordered the Cali burrito and it was absolutely the bomb. Everything was fresh flavorful and packed with plenty of meat and toppings. Until recently, after I discovered Mediterranean food, Mexican food was always my favorite, so I've had a lot of burritos in my day... a lot! Now, I've been hearing about Roberto's Taco Shop for weeks from my boss, a native San Diegan, who frequented Roberto's Taco Shop growing up. So, I was going in with some high expectations and to my surprise, this place somehow still managed to exceed those high expectations. For $11, the Original Carne Asada Burrito is one of the best burritos I've ever had. It's filling, it's well constructed and the combination of juicy, tender carne asada with fresh pico de gallo and guacamole is just perfect. Well I went back to give this place another shot and maybe it's just me but this place is just mid.The taco was good the enchilada was ok but the refried beans were just to thick and dry for me.But the rice was ok.This place probably just isn't my bag but you guys give it a shot and see what you think? read more
Roberto's Taco is a staple in both San Diego and Las Vegas, and I was craving their machaca burrito. They use flour tortillas from California, which is awesome--it tastes just like back in Cali! It really hit the spot. If you've never tried this place, you definitely should--you won't be disappointed. The staff is friendly, and I even met the owner, who was just as nice. The inside is small, but that's fine since people tend to come and go, so finding a seat isn't usually an issue. I'll definitely be back! read more

I got the Carne Asada Taco plate, The asada - lacked flavor could have been seasoned more. Pico - doesn't have jalapeños in it, lacks salt. But fresh. Red salsa - water no flavor only the spiciness Was missing the green sauce sadly Guacamole also lacks seasoning and doesn't have jalapeños in it. Beans made with lard and rice were ok basic. It was good portioned size tacos for the money! Wait time for lunch was minimal. Overall I will try again something different next time. read more

We love SD taco spots so we wanted to try this out. Tiny old burger spots, converted into this taco joint. Not much seating inside/a little crowded. But we really came for the carne asada fries. The only other place that does it even decent in the metroplex is Valerie's taco shop. Anyways that's the star of the show. Order 3 of those to go and you won't be disappointed read more

We ordered the rolled tacos which came with guacamole and cheese. The tacos were hot and there was way more guacamole than we expected. The orders also came with red and green salsa. We will definitely return and try something else. Be aware there are only 2 booths and a few bar stools so plan accordingly. read more

We went after seeing a TikTok talking about how this is authentic California Mexican food and I have never been more disappointed firstly it was $28 for everything and secondly the food was disgusting the enchilada and chile relleno had chili on top of it which is Not California style but Tex-mex and the carne asada burrito which typically in California will have rice and beans inside was just purely carne asada and the driest at that! The beans in the chile relleno plate were obviously canned refried beans as well. It was honestly just horrible and it took 20 minutes to get while the food was mediocre! I would not recommend this place one bit unless you are looking for the worst Mexican food around! read more

We are from OC so we were so excited for Roberto's. Unfortunately the food was no where close to the og. We ordered 2 orders of overly cooked rolled tacos, bean burritos which were massive, 2 crunchy tacos I thought my teeth were going to break off eating (shredded beef is good but minimal). We totally forgot about the carne asada cali burrito and chorizo and egg for bfast so maybe I will try one more time. But first time was a fail. Would not re-order anything we got! Let's go Roberto's you were supposed to be my go to taco shop and at this point I would never any more money there. Sorry for negative but honest review. read more

I love Mexican food and I love Tex mex (which is what I would call this). The portions were massive, my husband had the carne asada burrito and I had the chimichanga, I just don't think anything was outstanding. I think the biggest let down for me was the water with chile they call salsa. It was so runny it would slide off my food. I hate restaurants that do that, specially since it's what would have taken the food to the next level taste wise. Not sure if I would give it another try. read more

This was my first time trying this place, and unfortunately, it will probably be my last. I checked the reviews before coming, and I should have listened. I specifically asked if the quesadilla came with fajita chicken, and the girl told me it came with shredded chicken. After waiting about 10-15 minutes, my order came out with no chicken at all. I was then told I had to pay an extra $4.50 for chicken, when most places include the option of chicken or beef at no extra charge. On top of that, the tacos were disappointing--hard, bland, and completely lacking seasoning. Overall, the food and service did not live up to expectations read more
