So, once again I came to Yelp to see what the recommendations were for holiday light…read moreinstallation/removal. I read where the previous reviewer said they are easy to deal with via their Facebook page so I immediately went to Facebook to send them a message requesting a quote. I provided my address and my situation and had a quote within 27 minutes. I had a few more quotes in the works, so I didn't reply for installation right away. After deciding that their customer service was already impressive, and getting one quote days after I requested it, I went with 5-Star. I had my own lights that were fitted for my house last year. The company I used last year was also my lawn service. After an honest Yelp review, I discontinued my lawn service with them but wanted to keep my light installation with them. They got mad at my honest review and ignored my request for a quote, then finally sent me an outrageous quote stating that they didn't think I would want to use them due to my review. So guess what? I didn't. I then contacted 5-Star again and asked about availability. They had availability within a few days so I booked it. My original time window was 8pm-10pm. I thought wow they are really trying to get these lights done. I got a text the morning of asking if they could come earlier in the afternoon and I said yes. They came earlier than that, and I was out walking so my teenager gave them the bin of lights and they got started. I'd never even looked in the bin of lights from when they were taken down last year so I was hoping they had all they needed. When I got home the project was well underway. I asked if they had what they needed and they said they did so I let them be. I texted asking what method of payment they preferred and got a response right back. Then I got a text saying they would be done in about 15 minutes. The installer asked what time setting I wanted my lights on, did a quick walk around with them and paid through zelle. I know some people don't like technology and want to talk to a person, which I'm sure you can, but I really appreciated all of the exchanges done via messenger and text. I asked the installers about removal and they said they would be back in my area the first few weeks of January and that I would be notified. I took my empty bin and put it away until then. It doesn't get any easier than that! Oh and it's a woman owned business too? Woop Woop!!!

For this year's lights I called Khenny to schedule a time and they were here as promised. They also do superb window cleaning. While Khenny cleaned the windows, the other guys started putting up the lights. I have tons of lights on the house, outlining the sidewalk, along my front fence and gate and also wrapping the trunks of several trees. It is a big job and it went smoothly. I created a registry online for a bridal shower but with limited options online (which I have no problem with), I thought it would be beneficial for me to go in person to add items or at least create a list of recommended items to facilitate the gift-buying process for my guests. When I went into the store, one of the women at the register could not have seemed more displeased or bothered to be helping me. She was irritated that I had created an online registry in the first place and that I was in on a Saturday without an appointment. I reiterated that the intent of my visit was simply to add a few items, not to choose China and table placements (which of course would take much more of their time and attention). Neither women offered to help me (they weren't helping anyone else) but told me to just come back on Monday and to call the girl who is in charge of registries. I left completely amazed at the clear lack of interest to help me (or at least attempt to be nice and apologetic for not being able to help me), the rudeness, and the absolutely poor customer service. Madison has the cutest things (hence why I was going to register there) but unfortunately, because of this experience, will be very hesitant to return.
