If you need a gift for someone that isn't run of the mill, this is the place to come. They even have a build your own succulent arrangement or terrarium area. I didn't do that, but it seemed like the options were endless. I did purchase a beautiful pothos plant . But they have baby goods, stuff for pets, funny and kitschy journals, mugs, posters, jewelry, clothing. So really, you could spend quite awhile browsing. The staff working tried to sell me an entire sheet set when I only wanted a single sheet to replace one that's worn out. I told them this, but they continued trying to sell me an entire sheet set and stated that B&B doesn't sell individual sheets. I told them that B&B does sell individual sheets online which they then changed their story and told me that's true. They then said they didn't carry the flat sheet in store and that I would have to order it. No offer to order it for me or assist me in any way. B&B offers great bedding, but this store is pointless if it doesn't carry full stock and I have to order online by myself any way. Do yourself a favor and just order online and save the drive unless you want mediocre customer service and upselling.

She was an older white woman with short hair. When my sister and I walked in, she didn't greet us. Instead, she looked us up and down and walked away. We immediately felt disrespected, but we decided to continue browsing and see what the store had to offer. After a while, one of the other employees did eventually ask how I was doing, which I appreciated. However, the initial interaction really left a lasting impression. I had heard other women of color share similar experiences at this store, which was actually one of the reasons it took me so long to shop here in the first place. Unfortunately, my experience seemed to confirm the concerns I had heard from others. It's disappointing because the store itself is beautiful and has such a great selection, but the way we were treated made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

I never write reviews but was so shocked by my experience at Madison that I feel it necessary to…read moreshare. I created a registry online for a bridal shower but with limited options online (which I have no problem with), I thought it would be beneficial for me to go in person to add items or at least create a list of recommended items to facilitate the gift-buying process for my guests. When I went into the store, one of the women at the register could not have seemed more displeased or bothered to be helping me. She was irritated that I had created an online registry in the first place and that I was in on a Saturday without an appointment. I reiterated that the intent of my visit was simply to add a few items, not to choose China and table placements (which of course would take much more of their time and attention). Neither women offered to help me (they weren't helping anyone else) but told me to just come back on Monday and to call the girl who is in charge of registries. I left completely amazed at the clear lack of interest to help me (or at least attempt to be nice and apologetic for not being able to help me), the rudeness, and the absolutely poor customer service. Madison has the cutest things (hence why I was going to register there) but unfortunately, because of this experience, will be very hesitant to return.
