Yarn Nirvana Though located in a non-descript shopping strip, this is a Stand Out business. When my sister, an avid crocheter, visits me from Fl I take her here straight from the airport. And she is Happy. The wide variety of yarn choices, all high quality, are remarkable. There are inevitably a group of lovely ladies sharing their love of the crafts as well in a cozy "living room like" section at the front of the store. Be prepared to stay a while as you peruse the well stocked shelves & admire the high end organizing ideas & bags. All of the accessories are scattered throughout the store. I believe classes are regularly taught as well as a rewards program offered based on your purchase amount. Myself, an embroiderer, was thrilled to find a basket of lustrous Ito spools of embroidery threads in the back of the shop. I wound up purchasing almost every color & they are taking my "embroidery painting" to a higher level. Again, a proof of the commitment to excellence of this place read more

The shop was very nice and cozy with a wide variety of yarns. The woman that was doing a lesson was helpful when I was looking for hook options. But the woman that was manning the register was .. let's say less then friendly. She acted like I was a bother and a inconvenience to her. Dismissive and not helpful when I was practically begging for help , recommendations for hooks for men with larger hands. It seems like there is a theme that men are not welcomed or welcomed and are treated as we are Invisible. It's sad I could have made this a spot to go get my materials but I will not be coming back. read more

Can I just say WOW?! I've been to at least a hundred yarn shops and boutiques, because I travel to see them. This one is hands down my favorite yarn selection. She doesn't have malabrigo, because she understands the value of her shop space; she's using it to curate the finest selection of fibers and yarn bases I have ever seen and cutting out the yarns you can find everywhere. She's also has the largest selection of BIPOC owned and dyed yarns I have ever seen, if you're looking to support that! Meredith was super nice and greeted me when I entered but didn't hover over me and let me look around. If you actually look at all of the yarns she's got, be prepared to spend at least an hour in the shop. I took tons of pictures so that you can see what I saw-- a very finely curated selection of superwash and non-superwash yarns, hand dyed and local yarns, as well as some of the finest that Europe has to offer. She even has CaMaRose Snefnug, which I had never seen in a shop before. It's all priced competitively and the whole shop is decorated beautifully in a rainbow of colors. Their website states that they are LGBTQ+ friendly, and I have no doubt it's true. Don't miss this one! read more

I shopped here while I was in town visiting. It has all the hallmarks of a great local yarn store; personable staff, great selection, and a huge variety. I was really pleased to get some Knitting for Olive in the US, since I don't like to pay international shipping for it online. They also carry Re:designed project bags, which I haven't ever seen sold anywhere in person before. I also bought some Manos Del Uruguay Fino. They have a nice selection of some of my favorite fancy fibers. The prices were on par with any other high end yarn store I've been to in my life. read more

I had a great 1st time experience at Knit. I'm not a knitter or crochet gal but I made the trip in order to find a gift for my mother's birthday. She crochets and I think the book that was recommended by the very helpful and friendly staff will be a wonderful addition to crochet collection. While there was a loooooot of yarn, there was also knit and crochet accessories. Books, bags and other accoutrement. They even have seating if you want to come and sit while you do your thing. I'd make another trip just to chat with the staff. read more

Knit Dallas - New book for my mom's birthday, and it's definitely a great place. New hobby? Maybe - Knitting Supplies Near Me - Dallas, Texas

This is an absolutely beautiful shop with an excellent selection of yarn and accessories. I am from Las Vegas and the Shop was recommended by a friend. I was very disappointed in the friendliness and service I received. I was never asked if there was something I was looking for. I was greeted with hello that was all. Group of knitters attending open Knitting never responded when I asked and commented about the projects. It was like I was invisible. Generally knitters love to share their projects. I did make a purchase. However, I would have spent more had I been welcomed. read more

I visited this store today to puruse what it has - so I could let my college daughter who is a "mad-knitter". I wanted to get some ideas for her for Christmas. Thank you for the orderly and invigorating store. read more

This yarn store is amazing. I have been to dozens of yarn stores around the country and this one is top tier in terms of selection, different brands, beautiful layout, great vibes. I stopped by while visiting Dallas on a work trip. They have yarns that I see advertised on Ravelry but never see in person anywhere. Lots of colorways and weights of each yarn brand. I could have spent hours in there. There are several restaurants nearby so you can make an afternoon of it! The owner was there and immediately greeted me. I asked about a specific type of yarn and she got up and showed me where it was. She answered some other questions and also answered questions from some other customers. This is definitely a high end yarn store, not a place for craft/acrylic yarn. The yarn can be pricey, but didn't seem out of range from what I've seen at other similar yarn stores around the country. I didn't look at the books or accessories much, but they were displayed nicely around the store. If you love knitting this is definitely worth braving the Dallas traffic for a visit. read more

I am new to crocheting and knitting. This place is beautiful!!!! This place is impeccable - clean, tidy, organized. You can find every type of yarn imaginable. They have several ideas for projects by showing projects the staff has created. There are plenty of sitting spaces so people can just come in and knit if they wanted. When i went there was a group of 4 people sitting knitting and chatting. It was so pleasant! I loved it! The prices are a bit high, but i guess that it's what the yarn is worth. I'll keep coming here to support them! read more

What a beautiful yarn shop!! I went there while on a conference in Dallas. great selection of yarns, unique project bags and needles. Best of all was the warmest knitters' welcome you can expect when a stranger in town. it was a Saturday morning and knitters were gathering as soon as the shop opened to knit, visit, share and learn. what a unique place and rightfully called " a community yarn store". thanks for a great experience. hope to be back read more

I think it is both interesting and telling that the owner of this establishment responded 4 days ago as of this writing to someone who enjoyed a class at the establishment but NOT to the Hispanic customer who felt slighted 11 days ago. Race and class are contentious topics for sure but by not addressing the earlier post and then addressing the newer post publicly, the owner has given the strong appearance of not giving a shit about every customer's experience. My girlfriend and I came in today, DFW's first cold and rainy day of the year, and we're not greeted by a single employee even after my girlfriend said, "Hello!" to a woman at the counter and was pointedly ignored. The store is charming and warm with little alcoves and comfy chairs and a huge assortment of knitting supplies and ephemera. It also appears to be more of a clique or club than a retail establishment and the prices are high on most things and simply outrageous on others. Strong pass. Addendum; in response to the owner's response. Your Sunday group, I would assume, is customers. Your staff are lacking and as far as privately messaging the individual who perceived a slight during their sale, they must not have been very satisfied to let their poor review stand, eh? I have no axe to grind here, I'm not an angry consumer. But your glib answer regarding your regular customers tells me nothing that would entice us back. read more

Awesome shop with large selection of merino and blends. Few acrylics, cottons, or linen--definitely a wools shop. So many books, bags, and working areas. Never seen so many needles! Ask for what you're looking for or you may not find it at all! read more

I am not coming back Which means that I will continue my trecks to McKinney . Not enough yarn variety and not friendly enough to someone who clearly wants to spend $. read more

I learned to knit here a little over a year ago and have shopped there ever since. I always thought that they had a great selection of yarn but didn't appreciate what a great selection they have until I visited a highly rated yarn shop in San Francisco, CA. I walked in and said to myself, "Geez, this is it? Knit Dallas has 4x as many yarn and staff that is easily twice as friendly and helpful!" read more

I love Knit Dallas! The staff goes beyond to be helpful and supportive. I can't imagine my hobby without Knit Dallas. I highly recommend taking a crochet class with the incredibly talented Zakyla! Her support and encouragement opened up a new world for me. Take her classes. You won't regret it! Knit Dallas is inclusive, supportive, and friendly. The staff is knowledgeable and has answered any question I have. I look forward to visiting Knit Dallas for years to come. It's more than a store, it's a community of fiber lovers and friends! read more

The workers were very helpful and knowledgeable in pointing out several different types of yarn that would be good for my project!

Awesome yarn store. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Excellent collection of yarn.

Took a great class here on stranded knitting. Looking forward to more, hopefully on some weekends.

The ladies that work there are so nice and helpful! I am a beginner and had a lot of questions. They were nice and patient and answered them all. I have not been to many knit shops but this one was definitely the nicest and best "inventoried". I compared the yarn prices to the same brand online and they were within $2 or less so not overpriced. The quality of the yarn was much better than that in my hometown. I live out of town but hope I can come back and take some of their classes. There were some patrons in the sitting area knitting and were very welcoming (pointing out what project bags they liked and yarn and such). I will definitely be back next time I am in town. read more

Lovely sweet ladies working at the store. The yarn selection is beautiful and the employees were very kind.

You know those yarn stores you walk into and people are knitting and you say hello and they give you that look like you just walked into their living room uninvited? This is one of them. I don't expect an instant welcome into an established knitting group but I do expect at least a neutral reaction to a hello and I do expect clerks to actually speak to me, especially when I ask them a question. I asked where a certain yarn was and one clerk walked toward the yarn and pointed and then walked off. I didn't realize she wasn't mute until she spoke to someone who I assume was a regular. Selection was actually really nice - some local yarns and some super cute notions from a wide variety of vendors. Prices were a bit higher than retail for some items and right on retail for others (about what you'd expect for brick and mortar yarn store). It's a shame because it was a nice looking shop with room for knitting and a couple of areas for classes. I was a little bummed because I was looking for a nice yarn store closer than McKinney or Grapevine. But I am not spending money in a store where the regulars and staff can't offer a modicum of courtesy. read more

Outstanding yarn/notions/supplies/books store with a wealth of classes, knowledgeable staff, and an active & inclusive social scene! Probably the best knitting store within a thousand miles. The prices are comparable to anything you'll find online. They carry a variety of fiber types and price ranges from budget to luxury hand-dyed. Take a class, start a project, come by during Open Knit hours to meet a diverse group of Dallas knitters and be inspired. read more

Knit Dallas is more than just a store, it's a community. The community they have built includes people of all ages and backgrounds that care about their crafts and the store. They have been nothing but incredibly welcoming and it's been amazing to see the growth as a store! They offer crafternoons multiple times a week with cozy crafting areas, crochet and knit classes, exclusive yarn brands, competitive prices, and have an unmatched book selection for your crafts! It is also one of the few, if not the only yarn store in DFW that has employees representing the diverse melting pot that is Dallas. I found that very refreshing! The store owner has done such a great job and is always super kind and engaging. I am looking forward to seeing their continued success. read more

I absolutely love Knit Dallas! The selection of yarn is incredible! I got so inspired when I walked around the shop, I wish I could crochet full time! The owner and employees were very helpful and had lots of suggestions for what I could use for my project. This is definitely my go to yarn store! read more

Not the best experience as a Hispanic customer. Made a purchase and was told yup your card went through as if that was ever an issue.

I have visited Knit Dallas a handful of times and each time has been better than the last. You will definitely come across some yarn brands you have never seen before and will be greatly overwhelmed with the vast selection available. I look forward to attending a class in the future as I know the community there is always so welcoming. read more

I love knit Dallas!! The people at this store have truly become my second family. I look forward to coming to this store every single week. Zakyla and Ashley are wonderful, truly talented people. Christine makes the most incredible socks that I've ever seen! The yarn selection is the best of the best. You can tell that Meredith stocks her store very thoughtfully. Its definitely tilted toward higher end yarn, but well worth the price in my opinion! read more

This store provides everything that you don't get at a big box store. Varieties of fibers, people, and activities. It is one of the only stores that I know that has a significant crochet population at there crafternoons. All the employees there are extremely helpful and supportive too which makes for an excellent experience! read more

Knit Dallas provides an array of well curated merch for knitters and spaces to hangout and work your yarn craft with others. Beautiful yarns from around the world fill the walls, while cute art-styled notions and coffee-table-worthy knitting books surround the store table-tops. Each yarn selection shares the important details for project making on clear signage. I had a great time with my friend squeezing the yarn and discussing possible makes! Beware, this is not your big-box yarn store; this is boutique shopping for mid-range to high-end yarns. I found the lowest price at $9.50 for 100% wool. I purchased 3 hanks of alpaca/silk yarn in a beautiful color for approximately $60. The craft is pricey for sure, but the store's prices are comparable to those online. It is surprising Dallas doesn't have more stores like this for fans of fiber arts, especially with a burgeoning interest across social media. One major downside, (regardless of the store name), is the lack of resources for crochet makers. I did not see crochet-specific notions or finished projects on display, except for one popular Tunisian crochet book. This seems an oversight given the popularity of crochet and the fact that crochet uses double the yarn for most projects. Overall, visiting Knit Dallas is worth the drive around the corner or across the metroplex. read more
