Good selection of all the different weights of good yarn. If you are looking for cheap yarn, this is not the place for you. Wonderful selection of wools. Will unwind purchased yarn, free of charge. I'm happy not to have to purchase my wool yarn online. Now, if they would just carry Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, I would be a happy camper. They also carry big bottles of Eucalan no-rinse wool wash. If you've never used this before, it's a real treat. I even bring it on vacation (in a 2.4 oz shampoo container), so as not to pack as much. read more

This is a great yarn shop with unique notions and very knowledgeable owners (Amy and Hunter). They have a beautiful selection of yarn which is beautifully displayed with project ideas. Many if not most yarns stocked are hand-dyed and range from what I consider to be moderately priced (and up) which is what I'm looking for. Personally if I'm gonna invest a chunk of my time to create something I want to use the best yarns and unique colors/combinations (which West 7th Wool has). If I lived closer (I'm well over 30 miles from here) I would check out their classes, meanwhile there's always their pod-casts! read more

Great new yarn store that will fill the void left when Madtosh went out of business. The space is airy, bright and has plenty of seating for in-shop knitting, including a separate room with a big table for classes and groups. The selection is very good as well, she carries some really great niche yarn producers as well as some of the well known ones. Prices are as you would expect from a quality yarn shop; but there are some inexpensive choices as well as high end ones. I picked up a really nice polyester bulky-weight to make a hat for my kiddo and it was very pretty and very reasonably priced. She carries some very cute kits as well as individual yarns of all weights. This is a great place to shop and to hang out and knit. read more

I was fairly new to knitting when I visited this shop the first time; I had only ever made scarves (knitting in the loop with acrylic yarn). Upon telling my friend where my new job was, she exclaimed, "Oooh, that's by my favorite yarn shop!" There is such a thing? How cool! Before visiting, I found a simple tunic sweater pattern that I wanted to make. I walked in and asked timidly where "super...bulky?" yarn was, and was immediately directed to a lovely display. I was also invited to stay and knit with some sweet older ladies. I have since finished my tunic, and have moved on to a few pair of socks, two sweaters, a pillow... I haven't done any classes or stayed to knit in the store, but I'm sure as I try more difficult patterns, I'll stop by to utilize their expertise. Great little yarn shop! read more

Lovely Boutique Fiber Shop geared for the modern knitter. I promptly arrived at 10:00 am and was immediately greeted by both Trish and Hunter with welcoming smiles. Both were extremely friendly and helpful without being overbearing, offering suggestions and tea for my needs and wants. I really dislike driving, and since my LYS closed in Arlington which was inly 10 minutes from my home, I have truly been at a loss. I must say that I am elated that I made the choice to take the 40 minute drive to West 7th Wool, it was so definitely worth it. I have to say, there is a reason we should all write reviews in these days of Google. I read it, and as we traveled to Dallas/Fort Worth area, picked this particular store based on reviews - and it didn't disappoint! It is all the good stuff mentioned, and more. I liked the history behind the opening, the collection of the yarn was one of the best I had seen (I travel at least 6 times a year, and it's my "thing" to go to yarn stores in every new place, and I've been knitting for over 25 years), the organization, the friendly (but not over-the-top) approach, the set up - it was all A++. I would suggest, if I may, to put printed labels at the cabi tops with the basic yarn description (like: 100% cotton, 100 g, 375 yards) for easier navigation (especially for aging eyes:)). This yarn store is absolutely beautiful and the owners, a husband and wife team, couldn't have been nicer. A friend of mine invited me to visit the store with her, stating that the owners didn't mind if you just sat in the store and worked on your own projects. I did exactly this yesterday and couldn't of had a nicer time. I also purchase some yarn and the cutest bag to hold all my projects in. Why? Because I couldn't help myself! They have some really beautiful knitting supplies and all at a wide variety of prices. It really is such a gorgeous store. The owners also host a FREE knitters group which meets every Thursday night from 5-8. Even if you are not a knitter but a crocheter like me, all are welcome. My friend attended last week and said she had a blast. She said that it was a great way to meet other knitters and see everyone's projects plus, get help/pick up tips from others for her current project. Count me in for next week! read more
