Well, my husband and I wanted to try something new tonight, so we decided to try Robert Earls and it wasn't appealing at all, their dinners are over price, there's not a lot of options for sides. I tried the tri-tip and it was very hard meat. I took two bites and wish I had stopped at McDonald's. They put my bread bare in a large paper bag. Worst customer service ever don't waste your time and money at this place!!! I used to get the daily special but it's always a problem getting what you paid for at this place. You will always have something missing from your order so check everything before. And the bbq ribs are always charcoal burnt, so hard on the outside where you can't even eat it. I remember one time I had to wait over an hour for my lunch and the person before me said he was waiting over an hour for his food. Just like a time before they gave me both ends of the bread for my food.. like how did I end up with both ends? Or how I wouldn't get any bread for my meals too. Just stay away it's not wroth it. The food isn't even good.. it's basically leftovers they are warming up for you. I used to go because I work right by the place but not anymore, all my coworkers already know not to go because it's a lot you have to go though just to get food from this place. This food was spectacular, I pulled up to Smart & Final to purchase some food for dinner and I did not make it inside the store. The truck was right outside and it was smelling great so me and my spouse have decided to check it out, the prices was really reasonable and he even gave us samples. Once we place our order I needed to go inside the store to withdraw some money out the ATM but there was a lady ordering her food in front and she gave him some additional money to pay for my food, of course I'll try to decline but she insisted and walked away asking me to return the favor to somebody else. Not usually a brisket man, but I am now. If you like BBQ, you need to try this place. It's easy to miss so make sure to slow down when you are on Artesia. Service is great and has a good atmosphere. So picture a large plate of fried layered with perfectly smoked, melt in your mouth, moist brisket. Luckily I ordered sauce and cheese on the side. As I did not use any sauce or cheese, as the brisket was so perfectly cooked and seasoned it did not need anything. I was surprised to find an empty, dark, concrete hole-in-the-wall, but that told me that over 600 people rating it 4.5 stars wasn't about the decor, so I got excited! We ordered ribs and fried chicken at a great price. It took a while because it was made to order. Don't be in a hurry coming here. But it was worth it. A lot of soul food spots can be over-salted, but not here. The food was all perfectly seasoned. The sauces were deep like the rivers of a Langston Hughes poem. The cornbread was on point, moist like a pineapple down cake of corn. If the chicken was all they did, they'd be known for it. People should line up for it.
