Found this coffee place when I was searching for good coffee places in the area. Found some reviews that mentioned there were pour overs and saw a picture with multiple pour over options, which prompted me to give this place a visit. I was lucky that it was only five minutes from where I was staying. The ambiance reminds me of a small, third-wave coffee place with a small amount of seating. There is a main ordering area/bar looking area in the middle of the cafe and seats in the periphery. I was amazed to see how many options there were. After ordering my pour over, I was happy that it was made well, prepared well, and had an excellent aroma. I was instantly happy knowing this coffee place was close to where I was staying. They definitely know what they are doing here! Highly recommend it. The only downside to this place is they are closed on Sunday, and I found that out the hard way. read more

What a great place to go and learn more about coffee. They have a wide variety of coffees, are happy to talk to you about them, explaining all about the origin and the taste. You can even do a taste flight. I love their one and one. Get to really taste the coffee with the espresso shot, and then a nice easy sip with the macchiato. And quite a steal at $4. Definitely a place to go for any coffee connoisseur. But note, this isn't really a cafe. No place to work. No lounge chairs. Just great coffee. read more

My husband and I stopped in on a whim to get a coffee and buy some beans. When we walked in the employee was doing a tasting with a couple. He didn't acknowledge us at all and we stood around awkwardly for a couple minutes. He could have said "I'll be right with you" or something. Eventually we just walked out. Stumbled upon this gem while in Spokane. We had the pleasure of being served by an amazing barista, Allison. The incredible thing about this place is that they serve FREE tasters! Yes, you heard that right...FREE!!! You get to choose 3- 2oz pour overs which allows you to try their coffee without any commitment to purchase. But why wouldn't you after trying some of their best of the best? And did you see the merch?! I couldn't help but snag a few of those as well. It's DAMN GOOD branding. I loved everything about this place. ISSA VIBE~ While we were there, the owner Deborah and her dog Lucy walked in and we were thrilled to meet her. She shared her story of how her Coffee Adventures started and where it's headed. She gave us a personal tour of what happens behind the scene. The best roasters in town with the cutest little tasting room. When we first moved to Spokane, we visited Roast House at the recommendation of a colleague and we haven't looked back. Not only is the staff super friendly and knowledgeable, but they make a real good cup of brew. The coffee itself is also sustainably and ethically sourced and produced and the business is women-owned so what's not to love?! Awesome experience! First time ever having a flight of cappuccinos! It was mind boggling! Each so different and delicious!!

We just got amazing coffee today at Roast House. Their Ethiopian "Poppy" blend is 10% Geisha, and it was wonderful! The shot of espresso was smoother than most full cups of coffee I've ever had, with so much flavor. I could totally taste the apricot, stone fruit, and honey notes they were talking about. To top that off, they sell green beans so I can roast myself. They even had good music playing. And if you like friendly baristas, you're going to love their espresso machine, because you don't even see it--it's below the counter. While they don't have a dining area, I believe the First Street Coffee has that, and they're owned by the same people with the same roasts. You'll be glad you tried them, and might even start remapping your way home. :-) read more

Visited here after meeting the barista at Yokes. This was a fabulous find! A true coffee tasting room with a great selection and a very knowledgeable barista. He offered the samples of the day, asked us what we liked and then nailed it with he's recommendation and more samples. Came in for a sample and left with 2 pounds of coffee! Can't say enough good things about the Roast House! The outside of the building doesn't do the inside justice, warm and inviting space with top notch equipment. The barista Alison was super helpful and amazingly friendly. And the coffee.....sampled three different pour overs and left with a fourth all of them were tremendous. This is the best coffee I've ever had! Our family are definitely coffee connoisseurs and we've never found anything comparable in this state. The owner and the employees there are extremely knowledgable about coffee beans and their processing. They let you sample their brews before you buy also. I grew up in Little Italy in NYC and this is just another pseudo coffee house. The coffee is mediocre and taste burnt. The clientele? rude, boorish, but, that is another story! I believe that McDonalds Coffee is much better, cheaper, free wifi, comfortable family atmosphere with fair trade coffee. I'm lovin it! Do yourself a favor and go to Roast House. The coffee and service here are outstanding- definitely a hidden gem you won't be sorry about visiting! They had over 15 different roasts/origins to choose from for sampling and purchasing beans. They also have a tasting/order counter where you can order drinks (for vegans, they have 3 types of non-dairy milk to choose from!), and a small seating area where you can revel in all the rich coffee-goodness packed into one cup of this place's brews. Drink prices were also very reasonable. The barista was so friendly and knowledgeable, and walked us through sampling two different cold-presses that were on nitro. Did you know that natural processing of the beans creates a fruitier-tasting coffee? My only regret will be the next time I have to settle for a sub-par, overpriced Starbucks latte.
