It took me over two years of living back in Spokane to find my regular coffee shop. This place is in my neighborhood and I was curious about trying it for that convenience factor when it opened.
It took me a while to go in because I didn't think it had a drive thru...it does, you just pull up to the building... it's more obvious now than it was when they first opened...
I'm so picky about what my coffee tastes like when I spend $4 a cup....when it's wrong, I just don't go back....baristas are always in a hurry and I don't like being the customer that sends the drink back to make it right. So if it's not right the first time, I almost never go back. These guys have never gotten it wrong, and I've been going there regularly for over a year. There's 2 girls that have my drink memorized and they have for a long time. Doesn't matter what car I'm in, they always see me and ask if I want my usual. They even keep my card for me in the window. I can send my husband there and they make my drink. I can send my mom there and she tells them my name and they make my drink.
It's always so freaking good. Perfect temp, perfect amount of flavor, it's just always great. I bring everyone there (like when I have out of town friends or family) and every time, everyone has loved their drinks. A lot of my family are from the west side of the state...the don't screw up my coffee people....and the ones I've brought here loved it. Even the one that i have literally never seen her order a drink and not send it back at least once. She didnt send her drink back here.
I also think that this is probably the best priced coffee place in town. I don't feel nickel and dimed here at all. They also have this amazing jax juice....it is a bit spendy for the 8 oz portion, but they make it fresh with dozens of fruits and vegetables...and it's awesome. They also have breakfast items...I've had the biscuits and gravy a few times and gravy is another thing that I'm really picky on....great gravy....I think they put bacon in it...I've had the eggs once and they were good too...
You only have to order 8 cups of coffee I think before you get a free one...just another perk of this place...the service is always great and the owner is really friendly.
If you don't frequent Hillyard, this is a good excuse to head up there. Also, they have a Janis Joplin painting hanging behind the counter. You can see it from the drive thru. Had they screwed up my coffee the first time I went there, that picture would have brought me back to try them again lol....but luckily that's never happened :) Try this place, it's a hidden gem. read more
