Small restaurant with friendly staff and big portions. I got the pork ribs and sliced lean brisket with a smoked sweet potato and cornbread. I will definitely be coming back and getting the brisket again because it stole the show for me. It just gave me that backyard barbecue feeling. It felt nostalgic - like being back home, eating my dad's brisket. They say nostalgia is love attempting to reach backward and I sure felt the love here in the food they made.

Back in Denver, I was excited to eat here again since it was a standout spot during my last visit. Unfortunately, this time around was a letdown. Not sure if the place has gone downhill or if I just got stuck with bad cuts, but the food was pretty disappointing. The brisket, which should be the star of the show, was dry, tough, and just poor quality overall definitely not how I remembered it. On the bright side, the beans, pork belly burnt ends, and cornbread were all solid. But when you're coming for BBQ, brisket is the main event, and it just didn't deliver. Service was okay, nothing great, nothing terrible. All in all, it was an underwhelming experience, and I won't be coming back next time I'm in town.

Over 8 years of going here, it is still pretty darn awesome. Folks are the best! So friendly and great to see. Casual happy environment is always a nice time. Food is super delish! Still haven't tried their burnt ends. But their bison ribs are my favorite. Tender, moist, flavorful. Hope we go this weekend!

A little hole in the wall BBQ with some amazing flavor in their brisket. I ordered the brisket as well as Mac & Cheese to eat there. Service was quick once the order was placed. They came around to ask how it was and if everything was good. The amount of brisket was more than enough for another meal. My only complaint: they put spicy chopped up Cheetos or Takis on the Mac and cheese- that is not my flavor. Once I scooped that out the rest was good. I used the sweet bbq and enjoyed the flavor.

Everything is homemade. Delicious food and friendly staff. Sorry I didn't get a pic of banana pudding but we split it three ways and it was awesome!

Roaming buffalo barbecue is by far the best barbecue in all of Denver! Not only is their food delicious, but their staff is extremely kind and helpful, we stopped in today and John, Adam and Gilbert were all there smiling and happy to help us! Had to take some of the world's best Mac n cheese for the road! A must try!!

We're huge BBQ fans, so when I looked up Yelp spots around our area and Roaming Buffalo BBQ was a result, I had to take a look! They have two locations, and this one is definitely smaller in comparison to photos from the one in Golden. - PARKING - Due to the smaller location, there also isn't a dedicated parking lot. Look for street parking along adjacent streets! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - Service was okay - I've just definitely had more enthusiastic people at BBQ joints! Food came out fairly quickly though! There's a few small tables that could fit 4 people, although you might push it if you all had your own trays crowding the table. - FOOD - Pork Belly Burnt Ends: MUST TRY! Worth making the effort to come specifically on Friday's to get this Day Special! Perfectly balance between the fat and the meat of the Pork Belly. Makes me sad we weren't able to come a day earlier and get their Brisket Burnt Ends! Would recommend! Pork Spare Ribs (Single Bone - $2.50): I'm astonished as I write this review and realizing what a big steal this was! We're so used to smaller bones, almost half the size of what we got here! The meat was so tender as well! We could've split a single bone and been good to go! Would recommend! Colorado Bison Back Ribs (Single Bone - $3.25): I've had Bison Ribs before and each time I thought they just were too much on the dry side for me. I still decided to give it a try here... but the result was the same. The meat just isn't as juicy as other options. Pulled Colorado Lamb ($24/lb): We weren't originally planning on getting any Lamb, but we decided last minute. Definitely did not need to as we were quite full at the end and couldn't finish this. However, similar to the Bison Ribs, this was just a bit too dry for our liking. Others might still enjoy it, but it wasn't great for us. Angus Beef Brisket ($24/lb): They graciously ask if you want fatty or lean - we opted for fatty of course! Really delicious and tender pieces of Brisket! I will say that their salt crust is definitely saltier than most spots I've been to. Wish I had some bread on the side to balance it out. Turkey Breast ($16/lb): Ever since we encountered delicious Turkey at another BBQ joint, we've given Turkey a chance at every new spot we've been to! Roaming Buffalo's is pretty good! Although not the juiciest we've had, it definitely wasn't dry either! Bison Green Chile & Cheddar Sausage ($4.00/ea): Such a great mix of flavors!!! The casing has that snappy bite every great Sausage should have. The Green Chile and Cheddar Combo is delicious!!! Would recommend! Smoked Poblano Mac & Cheese (Individual - $2.25): The perfect amount of cheesiness and spice! This definitely helped us have a break from all the meat/saltiness! Pretty good portion for what you pay for! Housemade Chips [Green Chile & White Cheddar] ($2.25): There was a great crunch to these Chips, and even a day later they were still crunchy! I didn't really taste Green Chile or White Cheddar though. Bourbon Caramel Popcorn Puffs (Large - $2.50): Perfect sweet ending, especially since we were way too stuffed to get one of their regular dessert items! The Popcorn has an airy texture, and there's Peanuts also covered in the same Caramel flavor! - OVERALL - Would come back for the Burnt End Specials, Pork Spare Ribs, Bison Green Chile & Cheddar Sausage. Would also love to try their dessert items!

Half the slab of almost pure fat included in the 1/2 lb of brisket

Roaming Buffalo managed to stay on my bucket list for years until today. Why? I heard great things, especially about the brisket. It sounded heavenly. However, it's open only three hours a day and far enough away to make it weekends only for me. Sporadic Saturday calls always told me they were out of brisket, even as early as noon. I got lucky today & made a mad dash across town to grab some before it could get cold back at home. In short: Brisket was magic. Service lacking, close quarters Faustian B'Cue RB's brisket stands among the best I've had in CO. Turkey and bison ribs also proved well above average. Sauces were a cut above most. We had one labeled "H" and one labeled "S." They had one person (?!) working a busy Saturday lunch. My food took 40 minutes instead of the promised 15 min. She was too busy to smile. Social distancing: With a long line and a small store, there's not much room to wait six feet apart. I first sat at an empty table right behind where people stand to order, but got tired of butts in my face and moved to a spot at the bar when I could. Value: At $24/lb, brisket should not include a 2-3oz slice of pure fat. Today, I scratched Roaming Buffalo off my bucket list. How does it feel? Maybe they were having a bad day. Maybe I was, too? Three stars.

    Rocky Road Brownie

Happened to be right next to RB today. Thought I'd stop in and grab a couple of rocky road brownies for dessert this evening. What a mistake and waste of money. Both brownies were extremely dry and just crumbled everywhere. We took a few bites and threw them away. It's definitely not the quality we had a few years ago. Really disappointed.

We went here on a Friday afternoon at 1:20pm which was definitely cutting it close! In the time that we were out on the patio eating, they switched their sign to sold out after 3 people went in after us. I am REALLY picky about BBQ. I get grossed out when pulled pork comes without the BBQ sauce already mixed in/on it. Before going I looked on Yelp and could tell the BBQ sauce was not going to come on this, but I was really craving BBQ as was my boyfriend, so I decided to try it anyways. This was the best BBQ I've had that did not previously had BBQ sauce on it. There was not excessive fatty pieces (which is what usually grosses me out). There BBQ sauce they give you was also really good, but I do wish we had gotten a little bit more. For sides, we go the Poblano Mac and Cheese which was really tasty, but I do wish the individual portion was just a little bit bigger. The sandwich in itself however is huge and packed with meat. Neither of us could eat dinner that night because we were still full!

    Nice cold water to drink!

BBQ done right. Good stuff. First real chopped brisket I have had in the area. Most other offerings must be good as they were sold out early

Amazing BBQ. The brisket was great, highly recommend. The Buffalo ribs and Buffalo sausage were also good. Get the poblano Mac and cheese.

Today, I went with Modern Market as I was in the new where this location of MM is located. "Open" sign wasn't lit so I wasn't sure if it was open. There was no way it was closed however. As I approached it I saw lights lit inside. I used to live in this part of town so walking to this little shopping center was my daily routine. Back then I fondly remembered this location of MM where my daughter and I frequented. They must have renovated or rearranged things inside since as it looked quite different. As I recall it was always so clean in the dining room. That was the case today when I stopped by. Two male workers were upfront. They both welcomed me. It was a slow time of the day. They didn't appear to have a lot of online orders either. Hence, I was immediately assisted by one of them. He was very pleasant and polite to me. Once he had taken my order the other male worker's quickly prepared my food which only took 1 minute. LOL! It's so nice to not have to wait (good thing because I was hungry!) I got me the Lemongrass Tuna with Cauliflower Rice substitution (their regular rice is already mixed with quinoa; I am allergic to quinoa so that's a no go for me unfortunately so I didn't forget to ask for the substitution this time!) I wish they were a bit more generous about the Cauliflower Rice portion as there was barely there at the bottom of the bowl underneath the tuna. Other than that, it tasted good. Nothing tasted old or was brown to indicate that the ingredients weren't fresh enough. The two sauces that accompanied the bowl were nice enhancers for all the ingredients inside. Not a bad experience where it made my tummy smile with a nice grin!

Not only are they clean, but they are also quick. I needed some protein to get my mid to late afternoon going. My go-to here is Shroomami but the Caramelized Garlic Steak (pictured on the menu up above) grabbed my undue attention so I went with it. A bit too salty to my liking but overall, it was a really good dish. All of my favorite such as sweet potatoes, stir-fried broccoli and cherry tomatoes are all over the plate. I asked the lady to sprinkle the crispy onion to enhance the whole taste of it. I also asked the sauce to be on the side so I can dip some of the steak pieces in it whenever I would want to. This plate itself is $16.35 which is reasonable for the size. They charged me $0.50 for the onion topping as this is/was outside of the dish's description; no worries on that. This dish is now my second go-to at Sweetgreen. I can't wait to try other dishes. Next time, I will probably go with the chicken one. Looking forward to it!

The aesthetic is absolutely perfect because it feels both classy and comfortable at the same time. Our table was ready to go well ahead of our arrival which made the start of our meal very smooth. The food was a major highlight of the experience. The Brie and Bacon toast was delicious and you really cannot beat their bottomless mimosas for a celebratory morning. We did run into a bit of a strange interaction regarding an iced tea order. One friend asked for iced tea and was told twice that they did not serve it, so she settled for a zero proof mixed drink. However, when the rest of our party arrived and someone else ordered an iced tea, the server took the order immediately. When we asked for clarification, he mentioned he was simply confused by the initial question. It was a bit of an awkward start, but my friend eventually got her tea. I guess our takeaway is to be more specific about what we mean by iced tea. Later in the meal, our server cashed us out because his shift was ending. We were still eating and finishing our drinks, and unfortunately, we were not introduced to a new server to take over. This meant we had to walk back and forth to the bar ourselves for refills or any additional orders. Aside from those specific moments, the server was actually very efficient and kind, and the rest of the staff was wonderful and accommodating. The overall quality of the food and the beautiful environment mean we will definitely make our way back in the future.

We had large group of 10 people, which they accommodated easily without any crowding of our party or other tables. The front desk was very efficient with getting us seated, including directing others to our table they arrived. The initial table service was quick and efficient, however after the orders were taken, the service lagged considerably. Follow-up visits by our server were lacking and numerous times had to literally flag down our server for any drink refills, to-go boxes and our checks. As far as food is concerned, all the lunch meals looked fresh and delicious as they were being served. However, the Fish and Chips I ordered turned out to disappointing, due to the fish seem to have been steamed at some point and had a mushy texture rather than the firmness of a nice filet of fish. The chips served were very good, with nice crisp outside, which also was the case for the light tempura-like batter on the outside of the fish. I must admit the Reuben sandwich that another ordered looked amazing. Overall, the location of Penn Street is convenient and with the accessibility of the parking garage (Penn Street validates the 1st 2-hours of parking), is a very nice place to meet for lunch. Even with the service and my lunch meal, I would return, as all restaurants have off days of service or food, and many of the other dishes ordered looked great. Tips for your visit: If you have a large party, they use Open Table for reservations and accommodate us with separate checks. If you like people watching, ask for table by the window.
