Laith was fast when my battery died. No luck jumping it (it was super old and just dead) so I needed a new one on the spot. Kudos to him for giving it a shot though... Took him less than 15 minutes from start to finish to swap everything and write paperwork. The dispatcher was super nice...about an hour wait from when I called to when Laith arrived. All around, a pleasant experience. read more

Absolutely unbelievable experience with Roadway Towing & Recovery. I was left stranded for nearly TWO HOURS through my roadside assistance program waiting for a tow truck that never came. After being repeatedly told help was on the way and that arrival would only be a few more minutes, they suddenly canceled the job after I had already waited 1 hour and 45 minutes. When I called, the first employee admitted they were "backed up." I asked the obvious question -- why wasn't I notified an hour earlier instead of being left sitting there wasting my entire afternoon? He said my manager made the decision to cancel you, would you like to speak to her"She kept me waiting on hold for quite sometime probably hoping I would hang up. That conversation was even worse! She talked over me, lacked all basic customer service skills and told me they "never took the tow job". Obviously this was a lie since my insurance company confirmed this business two hours earlier. She told me they were too busy and it would actually be another 2-3 hours. So instead of declining the call honestly from the beginning, they left a stranded customer sitting and waiting with no communication whatsoever. When I tried explaining how unacceptable and irresponsible that was, she actually LAUGHED, sarcastically told me to "have a nice day," and HUNG UP on me. If your company is too overwhelmed to handle roadside calls, then DON'T ACCEPT THEM. Leaving people stranded for hours and then laughing at them on the phone is beyond unprofessional. Absolutely disgusting customer service. read more

Their technicians are spot on and they don't keep you on hold forever like those other tow truck companies. Their tow truck driver Mr. Furious Knight really helped me out today. He was helpful and kind and knew what he was doing. It didn't take him any time to get me up and go and I have an expensive vehicle that requires expert care. All of which he knew how to handle. They have a great company and I recommend them. read more

I know tow trucks companies don't have the best reputation, but I just have to share my experience with the driver, Tim, who towed my car due to a mechanical issue. He was very prompt, courteous and professional. He expedited the tow very quickly in a heavy traffic apartment complex so to not inconvenience my neighbors. Great problem solving skills as my car was in a a low clearance garage, yet he still found a way to get my car in his truck. We had a great conversation on the way to the dealership. A genuinely nice human. read more

Worst tow company!!! I went to pick up my truck and they wanted to overcharge me even the people on the phone they are rude and helpless. They wanted to charge me for 2 days when my truck wasn't even there for 24 hours. They hang up on me like 4 times plus they take so long to bring my truck out. When I told the man who was helping me he got so mad and was super rude I find out they put wrong time and wrong information so they can overcharge you! I don't know how this company is still on business they are not honest!! I wish I could give 0 stars read more

Worst tow truck company! My insurance called them this evening and told them I'm on the highway left shoulder by divider they made me wait 2 hours and said after I called them..."We're sorry but unfortunately we won't be there for another hour" Then hung up on me. Lied and said they were in touch with my insurance. Insurance company said there was no calls from them. read more

This comcompy has thieves working for them. I had items I purchased brand new from a major retail store and they stole them from me since they are not considered personal items at the time of my car being towed and/or never documentedet on paper. They took toilet paper and wipes from my car. This place already has very low ratings, but never expected it to be from theft. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THIS BUSINESS TO TOW YOUR VEHICLE. read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could!!! USAA - please take note to NEVER use this company ever again for roadside assistance. Had a tire blow out on me on the freeway at 12 pm - used the USAA app to request a tow, which was super easy. It asked for my location (which was auto-identified via GPS) and confirmed that I was stranded on the freeway. I got a text saying that the ETA would be 2 hours (2 pm). Thank God I decided to ask my husband to pick me up first otherwise I would've been stranded there for longer. Once my husband picked me up 1.5 hours into the wait, I called the tow company to ask for an updated ETA or if they could tow without me present. Answer was "not sure the ETA, the driver should call you" and they couldn't tow without the key. Fine - we ended up driving back to the car to leave the key in there for them and then went back home. Meanwhile it's already 3:45 pm, and I'm super exhausted from the whole ordeal and decide to take a quick nap...I jolted myself awake after a while and noticed I had some missed calls from 10 minutes prior (4:05 pm). I realized it was the tow company so I immediately gave them a call back. Apparently they couldn't find my car because the address was "incorrect" and they cancelled the tow. Well did you bother reading the notes that the car was on the freeway?! Obviously you don't look in a residential area if that's what was provided! There wasn't even any residential areas near that area of the freeway! Sure I missed the call, but really? You made me wait an additional TWO HOURS for you to arrive, but you can't give me a 10 minute grace period and have your driver go back to fix their mistake?! The person I spoke to wasn't even helpful or apologetic! Rude!! Ridiculous! Ugh I'm so mad! STAY AWAY!!!! read more

The owner is rude, condescending and calls you names! He told me I'm an "idiot" for asking some questions and then went on to call me "retarded" I don't understand how someone in a customer service position could make any money with such an attitude towards customers! That's probably why his trucks are all run down leaking oil and about to break down! Word to the wise just call another company! read more

Thugs and cheats. First told that service will be available in 20mins. Then I called them after 20mins and now they said it will take at least 1 hours 30 mins. This company is awful. The employees are rude and lack actual knowledge of law. Do not expect to gain access to your vehicle to take pictures either. USE SOMEONE ELSE!!! I called them in mid Oct to get a quote to load shipping containers on a flat bed truck. I was quoted $750 for 3 hours of service. I was comparing them to Bob's Crane, who were a 4 hour min @ a total of $1075. I went to Roadway, They were 4 hours late, took over an hour to set up, and charged be 2518 for the service. I had asked this morning about the fee of $750 an hour which Edwin quoted this morning, I said that was to be for the 3 hour total. He said I didn't remember properly, stating it was $750 per hour plus travel time. These guys also demanded my CC card ahead of time, which now explains why. Once they have payment, I can't really dispute charges. We were in a bad place as the transport was waiting, and we were stuck with this bait-and-switch company. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

Scammed out of almost $300!!! This company was dispatched from my roadside service company. After a quick assessment the representative said my battery is done and needs to be replaced. I asked him if there were any other options. His response was the battery was completely drained and there was nothing he could do. Already being stranded I went ahead with the replacement. After calling my dealership they informed me that the roadside service should NEVER have charged me because my vehicle is under warranty. They also said that he should have given me the old battery and I could have turned it in for the warranty. Also NEVER mentioned. The Roadway representative gave me NO other options and lead me to believe this was my ONLY option to get back on the road. I called their office and spoke with a very rude lady that said "all sales are final". To mislead and scam people out of money during a time like this is inexcusable. From all of the 1 start reviews it's obvious to see that this is a dishonest business. read more

This towing company SUCKS ASS. My starlink service dispatched them for me. I had a huge nail puncture a tire on my Subaru. I called Starlink around 7pm ish gave them my info and gave them permission for the towing company to text me. I had pulled over into a shopping center by now. Screen shot of the text messages from this company. First text says eta 55 mins. Okay I get it I understand. I waited an hour no one showed up. I get a phone call from them telling me it's going to take another 90 mins until they come. I told them if that is the case I would like to change my location please because I'm not going to wait alone a single female in a soon to be deserted shopping center. I risked it and drove home. The female I spoke to said okay. Hence the 3rd text message I received from this company. I get the last text message from them, I reply to them but then decide to call them. The lady I spoke to told me sorry we're not servicing either locations anymore please call the person who you originally called and then hung up on me. So I did just that, I called Starlink to complain about them and to inform them to never dispatch this tow company to me ever. This company sucks @ss. Thank God I decided to drive home or I'd still be waiting in a deserted shopping center. What if I was stuck on the side of the freeway or in nowheresville?!?! Avoid them! Zero stars for zero service. Absolutely worst experience ever. Had to wait two hours for them to "show up" I get that with covid there can be delays. Two hours is a bit of a pain but at least I can track their GPS on my phone. I waited over 3 hours total on the side of the freeway for a tow truck, then they cancelled. I called every 45 minutes requesting eta time and given the same 35 minute eta on 4 different calls. On 4/20/20 I scheduled with my insurance to have my vehicle towed to my local dealership the very next day at 7:00 am. The towing company called me the night of 4/20/20 and I confirmed my appointment. The very next morning I received a phone call at 6:30 am stating that the tow truck was outside, which was 30 minutes early but no worries. I informed the driver Jerrell what entrance to wait for me as I was getting dressed because I had just woken up. In the midst of getting ready to head down to the entrance, the driver called me three times and then had the dispatcher call me again asking me why was I not answering and he was waiting downstairs, all within the span of 5 minutes. I explained again that I was getting ready and I was on my way to meet him. I called the driver to clarify and as he answered the call, he sighed and huffed at my statement that I was heading towards him. As I opened the gate for him to come in and get my vehicle he had a rude demeanor. I told him I'd meet him at the drop off site. Upon arriving to my tow location Jerrell released my vehicle from the bed of the tow truck and threw my keys at me from a distance of 15 feet and departed. I understand that everyone has bad days but I felt his attitude was unjustified and disrespectful and throwing my keys was extremely unprofessional. Obviously, by my treatment my patronage is unwanted and I will highly recommend people look for other towing options. read more

Called my insurance and was unfortunately assigned to these guys. Called at 8:40pm on a Monday in Escondido, said it would be a 9:30pm arrival. At 9:40 it said it would be another 15 minutes. At 10pm they said another 10 minutes. It's now almost 10:30pm and Roadway still isn't here. If I could I would give this place zero stars. First they had an ETA of 58 minutes to tell a vehicle that was scheduled for 10 AM. Then I got a message at 12 PM that they're running late and I'll be another 28 to 40 minutes of wait time. At 12:31 I have a voice message that the toe guy is on station at 12:40 the tow is canceled because they said to talk I have been waiting there too long. I feel I find it difficult to understand how a company can be late but when you let them wait for 10 minutes they can cancel an order. Surely they're gonna charge the insurance company either way that's why they would do it. This is the worst time of customer service. I called there company and the staff is all joking and laughing in the background. In all honest opinion save your time. Anytime someone says "It's usually $60, but for you I'll do it for $30" after just meeting them, I know it's Not a trustworthy business. Evan A. was their employee that arrived and threw that line at me multiple times. He tested my battery and identified that it was bad. He then tells me he can sell a battery to me for $160.... But "for me" he'll do it for $140. I said is that the total, because I can buy a new battery at the automotive store for $80. He said "plus tax, and install".... the "install" was partially under his breath. When asked how much to install the battery Evan A. said...."I can show you the paperwork in my truck and it's usually $60.... but for you I can do it for $30" HA! He had me between a rock and a hard place and he knew it and was leveraging the situation. I did have something in my favor..... It was a very HOT day and was likely 90+ degrees in the parking lot with no breeze. He was sweating and wanted to get on with his day so that he could go take advantage of his next customer. Out of principle, I started looking on my phone for the nearest place that I could walk to to buy a battery or have my wife bring one to me for $80 vs the $170 he was trying to charge for the battery and install. After 10 minutes of me looking on my phone and making 2 calls, he comes over and says.... OK, I'll do it for $140. All of a sudden the install fee of what was originally $60... and then $30.... was waived completely. Horrible that a company would allow their employees to take advantage of people that are already in a compromised situation. Upon Googling the company today, I found an article from 2012 stating "one of the company's owners," Evan Khati, "was convicted of illegal immigrant smuggling in 2007, police Lt. TomAlbergo said Wednesday." This article is from 8 years ago, but doesn't surprise me based on my experience. Very Unethical Company. read more

My insurance company assigned Roadway Auto Towing to to tow my car with flat tire. Original ETA was 60 mins but ended up being 3 hours! Due to this delay, we ended up missing store hour for the dealership, costing $100 overnight storage fee (in which came out of my pocket). However, this is not why I am leaving one star review. Overall customer service was absolutely horrible. (Except for the driver who came to tow my car was kind and professional) I was talking to multiple representatives and they all seemed to have attitude.
