My experience with this company is not as a customer, but as a bystander. I had a friend whose car was towed by this company, from an apartment complex. They needed a ride to pick up the car. So, I offered up my assistance. Roadway Towing, themselves, had already painted a very bad picture of how things were about to go and what kind of people they are. Hence, the many one star reviews. I pulled up to their location, with my friend and waited patiently, for our other friend to go pick up the cash for the car. As we waited, I was immediately met by a middle eastern man giving both of us nasty looks. Which rubbed us the wrong way already. We also know they stole her car, by law. It wasn't worth the lawsuit or drama, we just wanted the car back. We get attitude from the beginning. They can't expect people to be happy, let's be real. They have taken someone else property without permission, whether lawfully or unlawfully. In our case unlawfully. We verify again with the blonde woman at the front, that they do not accept credit. It is illegal and a misdemeanor, in the state of California, if they do not allow you to use credit. Cash arrives, we go to the counter, as we are doing our business the same middle eastern guy comes to the window, leans as close as he can against the wall. Sticking his head out the window and proceeds to stare both of us down. The garage(Where he was) and the office(Where we were) are two separate buildings. He made a point to come from the other building to the office window. So he could swing his ego around. We brushed it off and he continued. This is where they don't understand is the problem. We are both obvious veterans. Clean cut and clean shave. Him wearing is unit/organizational insignia on his cap and me wearing a obviously Army PT cap. He wanted to intimidate us, but we have seen that same look 1000 times. He could have just called me an "Infidel" to my face. Instead of posturing aggressively. We requested to inspect the car. Seeing damaged vehicles in their own reviews, sparked our interested to see what kind of shape the car was in. They said ok. All three of us walk to the roll up door. They say only one person can go in. We say ok and let our friend (A woman) go in and check. The middle eastern guy then walks up and closes the door while staring down my veteran friend, again. Since they didn't say they were going to close her inside alone with an obviously hostile random guy. My friend grabbed the door as it closed. We tell the lady at the front, that it isn't safe for her to be inside alone with him. She responds with "They have cameras inside". Cameras are not designed to stop crime. They only prove a crime, after it already happened. Not a proper response at all. The middle eastern guy then says my friend (Who grabbed the door briefly) broke the door and that he is calling the police. We know what happened, so we know he didn't damage the door in anyway. So, we wait. It takes them 10 minutes to let our other friend out of the garage. Cops pull up 20 minutes later. We tell the police what happened. They get the story from the facility. The police didn't even look at the door. They came right back to us and say Roadway is going to pull the car out. Talking with the cops, it was obvious that this tow company makes false calls to the cops on a frequent basis. They don't seem to care about law enforcement's time anyway, They use a portion of the law that allows them to notify the property owner through the police, which puts a strain on law enforcement resources, because Roadway is lazy and skips pass the whole part where they are supposed to inform the property owner themselves. And when they cannot then get a hold of the property owner, then call police. They just lean on the police to do their job. We eventually got the car back. Thanks to the cops. I hate to see a company like this make money off of anyone. The tow truck driver hates veterans. They discriminated against us as veteran "Infidels". It is my opinion they discriminate against veterans period, since they also refused to, even process the paperwork, for two active duty Marines who were waiting after us. Until the cops left. We are local car enthusiast. The S2000 they stole is part of our family. Myself and my friends rely on local tow truck companies to tow our cars and project cars. I will refuse Roadway service, until their doors close for good. You don't have to be involved with disgusting people. There are two tow companies right down the street, who are good honest people. "Legally" this company did everything they are allowed to do. But they also "Legally" stole my friend's car. It took Roadway 45 minutes to give us the car. It took the cops 5 minutes to actually get us the car. I will be notifying USAA, Pacific Marine, Navy Federal, and all known local veterans advocacy groups of the blatant discrimination against veterans. I will also concede all efforts, if the tow truck driver apologizes to my face. read more

Tow truck drivers deserve 5 stars unfortunately you have to deal with switch board operators that are crap, send wrong eta arrival information and cancel on you after waiting hours. I have to update my review. Please see updated review at the bottom. Where do I begin with these MF's. Roadway towing took the tow call. Sent me an ETA text and I proceeded to wait. Let me rewind. I was on my way home with a 10 week old kitten that was in a carrier. The mesh kind so no hair or dander can escape. So I proceeded to wait. Two hours later I get a phone call from the provider and they said that they could not take the call because it went against their policy they could not take the call due to I had a kitten that would be traveling in the tow truck vehicle with me to the drop off location all of this they knew taking the call but they still took the call with the comments regarding a kitten and then canceled after I had waited two hours. I ended up having my father come out pick me up take me home to get my other vehicle and get the kitten home and then called roadside assistance again and was given the same provider this company roadway towing and they proceeded to send me another text message and I go back to the vehicle again which in 40 mins away and wait again. An hour and a half later than their estimated time of arrival and roadway towing cancels for the second time. Do not use this company do not recommend them they are rude, have terrible business practices, unreliable, animal abusers, think it's okay to cancel service after you have waited 2 hours twice, and the woman said she was the manager on duty and she doesn't know how not to be rude. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. The woman needs to be fired. She is the first point of contact and needs a serious attitude adjustment, etiquette lesson and probably some anger management control issue therapy. There is no way the good reviews are real. Yes the tow truck drivers are probably really good. I'm talking about the work ethic in the office before the tow even arrives. Administrative and who ever is working incoming call requests for service on Saturday evening from 6 on is ruining your business!! Take advice when it's given and do yourself a solid and replace her. You can research my reviews I'm the type of person to give reviews when I have good service not bad. But this needs to be addressed. Update. So after Being canceled twice by roadway towing I ended up getting towed by roadway towing to the place I was going to have my car fixed I don't know how it worked I don't know how they ended up coming after canceling me for the second time and the first time for having a kitten but the responding tow truck driver was efficient and fast once he got there and mind you it's not his fault that I had already been waiting for 4 1/2 hours on the side of the road for two tow truck drivers. So my update is this. The tow truck drivers = awesome. Administrative staff/ switch board personnel need to be replaced. And quit sending out the same message to all your clients. Absolutely WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I was in an accident, a car T-boned me on the freeway, my airbags went off and I spun out and my car was totaled. My parents picked me up from the hospital and we went to gather my things from my car. After such a traumatizing experience, the men at Roadway Towing made my life hell. First, they gave me attitude because I came with my parents and sisters and then insisted that no one else enter the lot, only me. I told them I needed help bringing my things out and they said "too bad." I asked if I could have a trash bag to carry things in and the man said "no, we don't provide that service." Then, as I was gathering my things from my trunk, he insisted on watching every move. I asked him to give me space and he said "no I need to see what you're taking." At the time, I was gathering my laundry and I needed him to step away from seeing my undergarments. He said he needed to watch because I guess he's a pervert. I asked him why he needed to see my panties and he immediately started screaming at me. He went to my dad at the gate and said "she can't talk to me like that I don't know who the fuck she is." What kind of customer service is that?! He then balled his fists and stood about one inch from my dad's face and threatened to throw me and my shit out. My sisters caught it all on video. I asked for a female employee to watch me if I needed to be watched (why would I, I was the owner and those are my things?) and Jenny came out with trash bags to help me. She apologized over and over for her asshole of a coworker. My problem was that 1) when I asked what policy didn't allow a family member to help gather belongings, they couldn't show me, 2) the disgusting man yelled at my father and myself and threatened us because I didn't want him looking at my laundry. He was disgusting and a pervert and if you can help it, STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISGUSTING BUSINESS. The only reason my car was there was because that's who the police called to tow my car after the accident and I had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. My sisters and dad told me that another coworker walked by and told my dad "I'm sorry, that guy is the biggest asshole." When I left, they made me sign this bullshit "contact" which was a plan white piece of paper that said I took all the valuable things out of my car. I wouldn't have signed it if I hadn't just taken everything out of my car but I guess they have a reputation for stealing things from people's cars. I called roadway towing to get my car towed from Carmel mountain road in San Diego back to my house in Oceanside when it broke down. I pushed my car to the side of the road, called an Uber to get to my job site, and then called roadway. I set the tow up letting them know I left the passenger door unlocked for them and they told me that was no problem and that they were on the way. I got a call when the tow truck driver arrived at my car and started to hook it up. I immediately started cleaning up and called another Uber. I told the tow truck driver that most of the tow was covered by my insurance but I will cover the rest in cash, I let him know my situation and that I would be about 30 minutes behind him getting to my house. He had no problem with this and seemed like a friendly enough guy. The next call I received was from his dispatcher who was completely unprofessional and rude. She said the tow truck was already there, ahead of schedule and needed to leave. I tried to reason with her on the phone letting her know that I would be there in less than 5 minutes. This was not good enough for her as she then hung up on me and told the driver to impound the car. I called back over and over trying to plead them to wait just 1 minute but every time the dispatch answered she would tell me to please hold and then she would hang the phone up. Roadway towing is an absolute joke calling themselves a business and operates like street thugs. They have stolen my car and are now keeping it hostage until I pay them the $700 they're asking for. This is ridiculous and I cannot believe there is a business out there operating in this manor in today's day and age. Will never ever ever use them again. read more

Absofuckinglutely the worst. The Worst. THE WORST! At this point, I'm just mad at myself for wasting my time trying to reason with this pitiful bunch of crooked, pathetic, rude, lying, miserable, disturbing individuals. There is nothing, NOTHING good about them. I wanted to report them to BBB, but guess what? They have an A+ rating! I wanted to submit an official complaint to "the boss", Frank Khati (a bankruptcy king) or his brother Evan (a convicted felon), but after reading replies from them on the BBB site, it's clear they are well aware of what's going on and they simply don't care, as long as money is being collected from the naive and/or desperate customers. So, no help there. Pretty much the same story as everyone else's. Unacceptably long wait? - check. Needed a "new" battery? - check (well, it was "new" to me; they sold me, as I later found out, an old piece of junk). Grossly overpriced parts and labor? - check. Obnoxious, disrespectful and nasty attitude? - check. Lack of any compassion or professionalism? - check. Refusal to replace my battery within the warranty period? - check. And so on, and so on... At the end, nothing matters more to me than a peace of mind. I won't allow to have yet another day RUINED by these despicable loonies! Costco auto service to the rescue! Fast, reliable, inexpensive. So do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from Roadside Auto Towing! They are literally a fucking joke. read more

Don't ever use this company!!!!!!! Worse service I've ever used in my life!!!! Called by my insurance and was inform will be only 45 minute wait. Informed dispatch have my 10 month old son with me that's sick, I was on my way to get medicine and broke down. She informed me then she'll put a rush as "not safe" tow and have someone out sooner. Sad to say three hours and still waiting!!! Called company was hung up on twice, called a third time was inform they are having a high demand and sending a truck from Escondido to me, they have trucks in Lake Elsinore (mind you that's only five mins away from me) but instead sending someone that's an hour and half away for a tow that's less the four miles of where I'm broken down at. Called my insurance to aw what else I can do, and they informed my insurance I still have 10 cars I front of me and I'll be picked up at 2:00am. A five hour wait time with an infant that's sick!!!!! I'm disgusted by this company. If your running behind at least give us a heads up and accommodate for those using your service. I hope none of them have kids and have to deal with what I'm dealing with right now of a 45 min wait to 5 hours!!!! You should be ashamed of yourselves and business!!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Two hours of waiting for the tow truck and he calls asking where I'm at? He's got the address where I'm at. I send him a pin where I'm at. He still can't find me. My wife tries to guide him to the address and he gets frustrated and hangs up on her. I tried calling him back and he sends me to voicemail. He abandoned me and my car! The next morning they send another driver out and another two hours goes by. This time he finds the car but can't get it into neutral to tow it. That's because the battery is dead from having the hazards on all night. Instead of jumping the car to get it into neutral and towing it they once again abandoned me and my car. Unbelievably poor experience. If your roadside assistance sends you someone from this company ask for another tow truck company!! read more

Not surprising as the co-owner Evan Khati was convicted of smuggling an Iranian national over the boarder in the trunk of his car for which he served 30 months in Federal Prison, but I digress. Family member got a flat. USAA roadside assistance sends Road Way to the rescue. Two hours later still no driver. I called multiple times and each time the microcephalic answering the phone had a different excuse culminating in an accusation that I provided the wrong vehicle make and model. She then called back and said she was pulling the driver because I was "disrespectful" Ha-pulling a driver that never showed up, how draconian. Contacted USAA who are thankfully removing Road Way from their list of roadside assistance providers. read more

Despite what many others have said, Roadway gave me fantastic service. My truck broke down on the side of a busy Interstate with my kids and grandkids in it. While the Roadside Assistance operator through 21st Century was not so helpful, the tow truck driver was incredible. I waited by myself for the driver on a holiday night, on the side of the highway, in the fog. He arrived exactly at the promised time with a flat-bed truck. He made sure I was safely inside his truck before loading mine. Then he deftly maneuvered the delivery of my broken down truck up our narrow easement and parked in on our driveway. My husband told me to get the name of this company so I called Roadside Assistance this morning to find out Roadway Auto Towing. Thanks, again! read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY. I would give zero's if I could. They were sent by my insurance company when my daughter's car died in the middle of the road at 9:30 at night. Took 2 hours to get there. When they got there, they refused to tow the car 5 miles to my daughter's apartment. "We were told it needed a jump start, so since it needs something else, we are not allowed to do it" I called them a couple of days later to complain and was told "but since it needed a 5 mile tow and not a battery jump, who would pay for that?" I told her "MY INSURANCE COMPANY BECAUSE I HAVE TOWING AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE!!!" We called Mercury back and they had someone else out in 45 minutes. Horrible service! After waiting for an hour after ETA the driver "massin" picked up my car and towed it less than 15 mins away I waited at the destiation with my ride for over an hour and a half! After that Massin backed up my car and ended up HITTING AND DAMAGING my car and claiming it wasnt him. I clearly saw him do it and if I didnt tell him to stop he would have hit it worse! When I called the office to complain they kept putting me on hold and hanging up on me the man in the office was very rude saying" mam' I have four phones ringing all day I dont have time for you or your car, it's a '92 and a piece of junk. I just received stellar service from Raymond at Roadway Auto towing. I was sure that I would need a tow. He arrived within 15 minutes, after I'd been told it would be an hour. He gave me a jump start and checked the voltage in my battery to determine whether it was my alternator or the battery, and if just the battery, that there would be enough juice to drive myself to the shop. He advised me to let the car warm up first before I drove it. He also showed me where an alternate battery port was located under the hood of my BMW, since the battery is in the back. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and he even returned my coffee cup after I almost left it in his vehicle. Great guy, great service, thumps up! read more

Thankfully, I came across Roadway Towing & Recovery, and they turned out to be a true lifesaver! They arrived promptly, just as you'd expect from a reliable towing company, and handled my car with exceptional care. The driver was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. Considering the quality of service, the price was absolutely worth it.
