I had to take a moment and write a review for Primo's Towing. My car died unexpectedly in a parking lot on a Thursday night and I needed to have it towed to my mechanic. I called Primo's, they gave me a very reasonable quote for the towing and had my car at my mechanic within an hour. This is totally different from the experiences I have had in the past with other tow truck companies in the area. (S&R Towing once had me waiting 2 hours for a tow even though they said they would be there in 45 minutes). I needed a tow because of a tire blowout on the freeway. I called 3 different towing companies, all of them said it would be more than 1 hour before they can make it. I called Primos, and less than 20 mins my car was being moved onto the tow bed. They drove me to their garage and even offered to change my tire for me. I started driving away but realized that my air pressure was low, so I turned around and asked them to take a look. They stopped what they were doing and inspected all 4 tires, and added the appropriate pressure. I just want to take the time to recognize their professionalism and obvious technical expertise. We used Primo's Towing to move my daughter's car from San Marcos (where it broke down) to Oceanside (where it was going for repairs) - a distance of 20 miles or so. We were steered to Primo's via word-of-mouth and, after calling Primo's and a couple of other local towing companies and getting rates and quotes, we opted for Primo's and made an appointment for the following day. Primo's provided a flat rate quote that, in our situation, worked out to be less expensive than their per-hookup and per-mile quote. But even without the flat rate quote, their standard pricing is STILL less than the other companies' quotes I obtained. Primo's was not only the lowest price around, but Primo's also provided extraordinarily customer service over the phone and, when my daughter and husband drove up to where her car was at, Primo's was already there, prompt as can be, 10 minutes ahead of the appointed time. This is a family-run, local business. Over the phone I spoke to Jose, who indicated that we could make the appointment ahead of time or, if we opted to call when the tow was actually needed, we would be facing a 20-30 minute wait (a very reasonable time period, as you well know if you've ever had to wait for a tow). Jose also assured me that if I needed to call back, I could either ask for him or for his brother, Miguel. Somehow, knowing this was a locally run, family business, assured both myself and my husband that we had made the right decision. In summary, we would not hesitate to call Primo's Towing again if needed. They have our unqualified recommendation and, in fact, Primo's phone number is going to be programmed directly into my cell phone and their business card is going into my car's glove compartment. If you're in need of a tow in the North San Diego County area, Primo's is the way to go. Spread the word. read more
