Called up these guys because I needed to get my 92 Nissan Z back to my house. I am a very particular when it comes to the handling of my Z. Was worried at first because of how low my Z is but once Eddy showed up and started getting to work, I was very impressed. Eddy's tow truck was very clean so that tells me he takes pride in his work. That goes a long way with me. Eddy was also able to accommodate my request to getting my Z back in my garage. Will definitely be referring and utilizing their service again. I have never been more offended in my life. I came back from a work trip to find both my and my husband's cars gone. This company towed our cars just a 4 min drive away because of the Carlsbad marathon. They charged us $600 per car totaling $1200 for a driving them a few blocks down the road. The short guy at the desk was rude, had 0 compassion for our situation, and even had the nerve to try to get us to buy shares in a vodka company he was investing in. At the end he even laughed in our faces as he said "Welcome back". I wouldn't call this scam of a company to save my life and the City of Carlsbad should rethink their contract with them. Their prices and demeanor are absolutely criminal for local residents and completely unprofessional. In response to the business's reply: Our cars were only in their lot for 2 days. They advised us to keep it for a third night since Joe said it would've been cheaper than paying an extra $250 for after hours staff to get our cars. The signs weren't posted a week prior because we left on a Tuesday and returned on Monday and the event was on Sunday. Maybe try treating people with respect and empathy from the get-go to avoid having to publicly apologize on a review. Fees & standards aside, you can't justify charging us $1200 for a 4 minute drive. I'm leaving this review for others to know what to expect. Our daughter was involved in an accident and La Costa Towing responded. While we had AAA, these guys were on scene so we had them tow us to their yard. 72 hours later, we were ready to get our vehicle. La Costa towing wanted nearly $1000 for the tow and 72 hours storage. I purchased a used car from La Costa Towing, the experience I had with the owner, Joe, and employees like, Eddy, and Casey, was absolutely amazing. They dumbed everything down for me and told me exactly what I needed to know for my new car. They replaced parts I needed, and some I didn't need. They showed me they really cared about my safety on the road, and overall quality of the car I bought for a very low price. Joe made sure to keep in touch to let me know when certain parts came in and when he would be available. He is also a shareholder in a very cool Vodka brand and I definitely recommend asking him about it. Maybe he'll even give you a bottle if you ask nice. Just don't drink and drive with your sexy new car. Joe also showed me before pictures of my car and I am so grateful he cares about the cars he sells because it was filthy nasty gross. He is a very nice small man with a temper, so don't get snippy with him. Let Eddy do that for you. I am very happy with my experience at La Costa Towing. My car was in a Tbone collision, so it was a pretty bad day to say the least. Never thought I would be leaving a towing company a 5 star review! But the technician who came out was so kind, and after a few days I was having issues with my insurance, I called the towing company and spoke with Joe who was extremely helpful and gave us so much information about the best place to take my car for repairs and helped explain things that my insurance was trying to hide from me. After a long week of being blown off by every adjuster and collision center, it was nice to have someone who took the time to genuinely try to help. Definitely a company to trust ! read more

I called another nearby tow company who quoted me $120 to jump my car. Outrageous. I initially agreed because I didn't know La Costa even existed, but in the 50 minutes the other company left me waiting, I managed to find their Yelp reviews and gave La Costa a call (canceled the other company) La Costa quoted $60 for a jump and promised to arrive within 20 minutes. 10 minutes later an incredibly friendly driver showed up, quickly jumped my car and had me on my way. I have since saved La Costa in my phone and plan on using them if I have any further battery issues or towing needs. read more

My clutch went out on Friday afternoon right in the middle of traffic. I called La Costa Towing and Chris came out fairly quickly. Chris was amazing! He got the car hooked up quickly and when I told him I was gonna walk up the street and catch an Uber home from the gas station, he said "No way, I'm driving you and I'll wait with you until Uber shows up." I needed a tow this morning because I couldn't get the parking brake on my car to disengage if my life depended on it. When the guy from La Costa Towing got there he started to hook up the car but then stopped and decided to see if he could get the brake to disengage himself. Apparently it just needed the touch of a stronger dude than myself because he got it on the first try. After a quick flex of triumph, he unhooked the car and got me on my way. Reasons for my 5 stars: 1. He could have easily not tried to get the brake to disengage and towed me for what could have easily been close to $80 or so along with whatever charges I would have had to pay at the shop to have them check the car. Not to mention the time he saved me. I ended up getting to work earlier than usual! 2. The service he provided was technically a service call which usually runs $65... They charged me $35 for the simplicity. 3. Although it didn't really apply for this case, these guys have a deal with Carlsbad Auto (http://www.yelp.com/biz/carlsbad-auto-service-carlsbad) which gives you discounted towing to their shop. In my eyes this is a plus since I don't have AAA at the moment and I love Carlsbad Auto. read more

La Costa Towing has defied my pre-conceived notion that all towing companies are shady, money-grubbing characters. Here's my experience: After a series of unfortunate circumstances this weekend, my inoperative little car was taken to LCT with the better part of the important possessions in my life inside (my purse, work uniform, schoolbooks and personal effects) and I was left in quite the pickle. After a chat with Milano about my circumstances, he agreed to meet up with me the following day and made sure that I got back every single thing in my car that I might possibly need while my car was being repaired. Oh - I forgot to mention that he met me early on a Saturday when he's not typically on site to make sure I got my life out of my car - with a smile! I can't thank Milano enough for not only his time and pleasant demeanor in such a typically harsh industry, but for the hope I have for humanity that he has helped to restore. read more

Horrible service. When driver arrived he said i had to ride in my car on the back of the tow truck, which is illegal. Said I would not do that. Refused to tow my car because of it. Rudest driver I have ever come across. He said because of Covid I could not ride in car. Which is a lie because i had to get a two 2 months prior and was allowed in cab with a mask. Just had car towed from farmers market and the towing company was La Costa towing company. While it was our error, what we experienced afterwards from Curlee at LCT was horrible. He was rude and aggressive and did not care that my girlfriends phone was in car and she had to pick up her 8 year old son and he had no way to get a hold of her. He was controlling and purposely slowing down to make us wait. As he got more aggressive I starting getting upset and told him he didn't have to act like an ass about it. At that point he started throwing out the f bomb and telling me to get the f out of his office and so on. Unfortunately the experience prior to this was great. Another gentleman helped us but I didn't get his name. He was so concerned about making sure we got our phone. Wish I could give more stars but the way Curlee acted was wrong and I don't care what type of business you are in you don't treat people that way. read more

La Costa Towing came to the rescue when I locked my baby in the car at the grocery store (pro tip: don't let your kid play with the keys!) and a compassionate mama in the parking lot called 9-1-1 for me (of course phone and wallet were locked away too). The driver arrived in about 5 minutes and moved SO FAST in getting my 2017 Mazda CX-5 unlocked. He seemed nervous about the model, but had no trouble at all. I could tell he really cared. He ensured that my locks and remote were working correctly before leaving and took my payment quickly; the price was fair. Later, as I drove away, a zippered canvas pouch he'd set on my hood blew off. I pulled over to retrieve it-- least I could do! When I called later, they (not sure who answered) agreed to meet me to pick it up and again came quickly. It was the same driver (Milano) and he was SO grateful and kind. It seemed to me like a low-cost item, but the warmth was definitely felt. Although I have free roadside service with my insurance, I'd definitely consider supporting this local company next time I'm in a jam. Kindness goes a long way. read more

My car was disabled from a car accident involving another vehicle. La Costa was called for the other guy, while I waited for AAA. I waited for AAA for over 70 minutes with a disabled car blocking a lane of traffic. After taking the first car away, Gustavo from La Costa Towing came back to check on us. He said he knows how things go with AAA and wanted to be sure we were taken care of. It was Sunday night, late, and an emotional day having been in an accident. When Gustavo came back to check on us, he was in his personal vehicle, on his way home. Seeing we were still there, he went back to get his rig and took our car away.
