    The angel of an employee

    So my son, who is 19 years old and autistic, was visiting my husband and I here in Long Beach from Chula Vista. He called me saying his tire had popped and he was scared because he didn't know what to do. Luckily I found this towing company and gave them a call late at night. They answered pretty quickly and said they'd take care of everything and I shouldn't be worried. Fast forward maybe twenty minutes or so and my son calls me to let me know they had arrived. Due to his autism, he has a hard time socializing so I was a bit anxious as to how he would react with the tow truck employees. This is where this employee comes into the story. Once the vehicle was towed to a tire shop, my son was told he could wait at the shop or hang around with the towing employee if he felt nervous/scared of being alone at the tire shop. My son agreed to hang out. The employee asked my son what his favorite thing to do was and my son being my son, told him he loved jacuzzis as it's a stimulate for him. The employee then took my son to his own personal home and let my son use his jacuzzi while he waited for his car to be ready. The employee even went out of his way and joined my son in the jacuzzi. A few hours later and the car was ready. After the jacuzzi and a nice dinner, my son was taken to the shop and he was back on his way to come see his dad and I! In all my years of living, I don't think I have ever seen anyone go this far for a customer. I couldn't be more thankful for this angel of an employee from NK Towing. Thank you so much young man!     I got a flat tire on the freeway this week, and called AAA. James from NK Towing showed up in less than 1 hour to tow us safely off the freeway and replace our flat tire. The best part is that James even showed me how to replace the tire on my own so I know how to handle the situation the next time. James is a special employee, and provided above-and-beyond customer service. Thank you, James!

    So my registered vehicle (BMW) started having troubles on 5/28/2023. On 5/31/2023 my sister (Who drives the car) called AAA because we are AAA members. We needed to get the car towed to the local BMW dealer and AAA send NK Towing. I was not present when the tow truck driver arrived at my house, but my sister was. Long story short, I meet my sister at the dealer and while she checking the car in, we see the tow truck pull into the lot. The service member asked if I could let the tow truck driver know to park and lower the car in a specific area. So I run out and wave the driver down. When the driver opens his door he doesn't say anything to me and I tell him that the service member said he can drop the car "right in front between A&B in that red zone." This is where the horrible customer service began. The driver looks at me all sour and frowned face and sticks his right arm out with his index finger pointed out and said " you could've just pointed where you wanted me to park." But the tone in which he said it was very condescending and rude. So then I tell him "You don't have to be rude, and try to enjoy your job. I was only delivering a message." The driver said "I don't know who you are I've never seen you before. Are you my customer or an employee. And I do enjoy my job." And I respond "It doesn't seem like it," and I walk away. So... he did have a point... He and I never met before BUT I wasn't asking him to give me the keys to car, grant me access to the car, or to release the car to me. I was just delivering a simple unaggressive message. The value that the driver has on his customers isn't that great. I work customer service and know that you speak to EVERYONE in a polite and approachable tone and manner. We represent a company, and he did not represent NK Towing in a positive light. So if you want NK to tow your vehicle they will, but the drivers might not be the friendliest or most professional individuals. And I didn't get the name of the tow truck driver. Sorry! But if I knew his name I would have posted it. This gentleman, I don't know if he was having a bad day, but should attend a customer service oriented training or seminar. We can all learn something, and what I learned is that I could have introduced myself to the driver before I delivered the message. Maybe that would have helped. But I'm not excusing the drivers unprofessional and rude demeanor.

    AAA has sent this company to help me with my vehicle now three times, and each experience has been better than the last. I rarely ever drop names into my reviews, but my technician today made such an amazing impression on me. Not to mention he gave me a card with his name on it so I feel entitled to use it~ Besides being kind, patient, and accountable, Gunnar was sweet to boot. And how often can you say that about a tow truck driver?! (I worked at a tow yard dispatching trucks for a police impound in LA, so I can tell you first hand, not often haha). The latches on both my doors broke (I'm fibbing, I actually broke one myself while playing with it to see how it moved), and I roped the doors together from the inside so they'd stay closed. Gunnar was easy-going enough to get in my car my preferred way: through the trunk! He was very responsible; he gave me a time frame of events and everything went as planned. Also, he is the first driver to send me photos of my vehicle at its destination- that was so awesome! Overall, while I never look forward to having car issues, I am thankful and will not hesitate to use this company again. Gunnar helped ease my stress in a difficult (actually kinda hilarious) situation.

    Heater hose blew and leaked. Called AAA, they sent Mario Lopez with NK towing. My experience with Mario Lopez was amazing! I was a little frantic/ on edge as we all are when our vehicle breaks down/ Accident or tow, and was asking Mario about his job and why he was doing things. And I'm an auto technician so "I think" I know what I'm talking about. Idk about you but I get a little sideways when someone asks me if I'm doing my job right, but Mario Lopez happily informed me in a kind and intelligent manner why he was doing his job the way he was. That was a big deal to me in hindsight. We then had about an hour drive back to where he was towing my fiancé and I and we had wonderful conversation. I really appreciate Manny Lopez and the services he provided for NK towing to make a crappy situation into a good experience! Thank you Mario Lopez! I really appreciate you and the work you do! And I am of course, overall, TOTALLY SATISFIED!
